Yup yup my experience with BP weapons is precisely this... you gotta use cover and move through and pick your targets carefully. It's not like the other builds where you can just run and gun and wait for the bar to melt. When it comes to events I swap to a faster weapon that does less damage but it gets me quick crits so I can swap back to my Ol' Bess and then hit for 900+ on bosses like SBQ. I love the playstyle but many people aren't into the patience that it requires.

Honestly Black power rifles make pretty great snipers Got one with instagating and vats hit chance and cause of its insanely long range it’s great in vats

Speed demon plus the team mutations perk really boosts reload speeds it's actually made my single action revolver build work!

Managed to get a bloodied, explosive reload version from a vendor and its been one of my best purchases yet. Amusing to see such high damage numbers from a single shot!

Dragon was my savior vs robots around level 30 cuz it one shot most even bigger ones with sneak damage. At max level I keep a troubleshooter version on me at all times lol.

The way i see it, dragons are like compound bows. Slower, bigger damage, better for doing your own thing. BP rifles are like the standard bow. Quicker, less, but still very good damage, better for events

I used BP weapons from lvl 0 to 75. I love it. I wish Bethesda would buff BP weapon though. Compared to automatic weapons and heavy weapon BP just can't compete. For the slow reload speed BP weapon should do 10 to 20k per hit.

they are fun to use and yes you have to think, plan, utilise the terrain, I prefer the black powder rifle to the dragon, I have noticed quite a drop off in damage at long ranges love the pistols too... great video

The only one I would maybe use would be bloodied with vats hit chance and faster reload but I will never roll them to maybe get one I hate them

I actually managed to get a bloodied 50 crit and reload speed bp rifle and the same roll on a dragon funny enough the bp rifle hit alot harder than the dragon for me

Is there any point to using the dragon over a BP rifle if you’re only using vats? The dragon only fires one shot in vats

It's 1 shot split into 4 projectiles. The damage numbers are all stacked on top of each other. It hits harder than a bp rifle.

@@wiggle_plays unless the damage meter mod is broken and I'm wrong, it might be stronger than a bp. Unless it was my circumstances although it was one after the other at the same time. Idk I wanna test it again but I sold the dragon 💀 but over all both are still pretty solid. Especially if you find a legacy for that range

Might not be room for it. The chance also isn't that high, so generally, more valuable perks take priority

Not really I lost opportunity, I tried it with the dragon once and in 100-150 amm0 used it didn't active even once

That perk doesn't work on black powder weapons.
