I'm currently using a AA/explosive 50 cal in the game. It's not the most powerful weapon but I have fun using it and it doesn't eat a lot of ammo.

After 5 years and losing our beloved legacys I currently run the following weapons->>> TS 50 crit cryo. Tse 50 cal Ts 25ffr auto grenade launcher. And AA 25ffr Gatling plasma. Formula p is a must for this as well. Honorable mention is a b 25ffr and aa 25ffr enclave when I'm out of pa and go bloody. But honestly I feel like between all those heavy gun I melt things the fastest with the cryo and a crystallized barrel 🤔 not sure why but it's just been my go to weapon lately. Especially with the new paint. Keep up the awesome work my friend.

Can't disagree with your choices. Gatling gun is one in particular I always recommend and give away to new players. My top 5 would go like this: 5 Pepper shaker (keeps queen,Earl and mini bosses in place) 4 Ultracite Gatling laser (it performs very well in vats if you know how to mod it) 3 Holy fire (canned coffee boss killer) 2 Gatling plasma (cheap ammo and boss killer) 1 Plasma caster (cheap af ammo, one shots 90% of the mobs in the game, very good in vats for a heavy and also a boss killer with nuka dark and canned coffee)

I used the Gatling gun until the fast firing glitch was fixed. I wish that they didn't "fix" the Gatling gun. It wasn't overpowered IMO.

Gatlin plasma breaks way to quickly I have a blooded faster fire Don't use it fedup of fixing it

I've noticed Gauss Minigun isn't in here. Well, the ammo is expensive, so that would make sense. I love my B/FFR/90 Gauss Minigun. Run that with a low health OE PA build, and it rips so hard. Quad/50C or FFR Plasma Caster with VATS Unyielding is also very strong.

Tse minigun, vampires gatling plasma, two shot ffr ultracite gatling laser, holy fire, grand finale and more have a place in my heart. Tse gatling gun is pretty sweet too. You can honestly have a 1 star vampire gat plas and never need anything else.

Unless you just started playing the game 6 months ago no one is going to look at the Gatling plasma the same way knowing how it used to be with the explosive perk.

I really don't know why heavy weapons are sooooo weak.😢I loved heavy weapons, but they are no match with Q5025 Fixer with 2 crit cards looking on TTK. Sad, Bethesda...sad.😢

Without sneak crits aka if anyone is detected the gat plas is on par with fixer. And besides 99% of the game is trash mobs and not speedrunning bosses.

Any weapon is good if you build around it, I find fallout 76 very easy compared to others and as a game in general the hardest part is early game and mid to endgame isn't much of a challange.

I run two builds. SALT N PEPPER, love my pepper shakers, still haven’t decided on my favorite salt weapon, it’s usually a melee unarmed weapon but thinking about switching to a sneak commando.

I was trying to do a daily where you had to kill ghouls with a shotgun well I found out that either the daily was glitched or the pepper shaker doesn't count as shotgun damage

Is Gatling Gun only good with Explosive or FFR? I have a +25 Dmg Aiming one. Same for Gatling Plasma and Laser lmao. What about Bloody effects on them? You always say AA but not everyone is so lucky. My Gatling Plasma is even Exec sadly. Also is the Minigun just bad?

Gatling gun is the best with explosive and FFR, aim DMG it's decent, bloodied would be good if you plan to be under 20% health always, EXE it's really good also, minigun just sucks in this game, sure you can make it work but why? When you have way better options.

@@oxy7623 Thanks for the quick reply! I really like learning Heavy Weapons gameplay from you. I was getting worried I'd have to roll for AA in every Heavy Weapon since that's just one prefix. Glad to know Bloodied and Exec have some room. Aim DMG IMO is also pretty decent if you get sick of Explosive visual effects since Heavy Weapons are almost always aiming down sights, plus it stacks with Bloodied for a nice damage per shot ammount. But I understand FFR being better since it helps the first damage increasing prefix shoot faster. As an example my Aim DMG Bloodied 50 cal gets some crazy hits on weak spots while Explosive might be better for Crippling I don't think the Explosive damage adds up well with the bosses resists.

I got a god ther roll for the light machine gun quld faster fire rite and 250 damage resistance while reloading I also got 50. Cal with armor pricing explosive bullets and faster reload I got both of these rolls on the first day of the new update Atlantic City I only had enough for two rolls of legendary models

I run a V/40Power/1str autoaxe, and it's just as good. Running that with a low health OE PA build is one of the dumbest OP builds in the game

I always wonder if PA with heavy weapons like cryolator, gatling plasma/ plasma caster is mandatory, cause Im not huge fan of going around in PA and feeling like a walking slow truck without the ability to use workbenches and all without exit every damn time, plus all the card slot wasted to equip PA cards...

@@oxy7623 Gatling laser is unlimited ammo. Just reload before running out and put the core in a fusion core recharger. You will constantly multiply cores. I started with 53 cores last week and currently have 90

@@jonathansuarez3832 25v or 15v. 15r is actually good on launchers/fatmen. using vats in PA isnt gonna be a drain on cores in the near future. heavies use obscene amounts of AP in VATs, 25v gives WAY more benefits than 15r because 75-650 rounds per mag before having to reload a single time. most run bear arms or have WWR gear so 90rw is near useless. i have an extensive collection of VATs heavies: ts/be25v 50cal, ts/qe25v lmg, bine25v HF, vffr25v gauss mini, /ts50c25v/vffr25v pepper, aa/b/execffr25v gatplas, tsffr25v cryo/minigun. all tried and tested, they have better overall DPS/ammo efficiency. i used to own most these variants in 15r but traded for their 25v counterparts eventually. if you want to break the game, using heavy guns in VATs is the way. it can smack harder than your standard min max commando with a qffr15r railway if you build it right.
