it is interesting, but I wish he would just get on with the game and not wonder in circles wasting our time while he talks. He can be literally walking to his next destination and still do exactly the same thing as he does via walking in circles. 10 minute conversation, in a 40 min video, and its not the only one...this isn't really showing us the small things about Fallout 3 like the intent of the series. Hes telling us the difference which again...isn't the point of the series and it really doesn't make sense why the same thing has "2" different skills with the same name, so it doesn't.. I think this is just stupid, I don't agree with Jon tbh. The doctor, is a doctor, he has drugs and stuff that Jon does not. So he probably shot her full of Epinephrine, aka adrenaline, which Jon does NOT have. Jon says the doctor is better because shes not limping so shes fine...but her condition on all extremities still says 95% which is the same as Jon could have done...the only difference is a limp which as I stated, adrenaline can make you ignore pain and youd walk normally, but it would cause damage to the extremities, so Jon would have been better. its all speculation on his part, and we know his perception is a -20 and none of it is confirmed meaning its not true. Perhaps if the game was new then it could be a plausible reason, but its an old game and no one has talking about it like they have EVERYTHING ELSE....literally everything about this game has been broken apart by the devs and players...so this concept is brand new to me

Well, "Eugene" is probably more useful here than it is in Fallout 3 base. Since in Fallout 3 Base it's just a low damage high rate of fire ammo hog against very tanky enemies towards the late game. However... considering the end of the story line involves going up against a lot of Power Armored people, the intrinsic -20 DT that 5mm Ammo has in New Vegas probably makes a big difference and could make it a far more viable late game weapon when you're going against the Enclave. Possibly worth considering.

A few things to add. If you shoot the ceiling in the first large room in the hospital a cascade of skeletons will fall from it. That combined with all the gurneys in the dry sewers suggest the hospitals may have been overrun after the bombs fell and they ran out of room to store the bodies. Second. Considering you can also find a Chinese Army Spec Ops manual in places like the ant tunnels below the basement of the Springfield Elementary school doesn't necessarily mean there was Chinese espionage going on everywhere you find the book. Lastly, there's a glitch with Sydney where you can get infinite SMG's by going through the dialog over and over again.

Not entirely a surprise that Talon Company couldn't take the mutants: TTW mutants are effectively NV mutants on all occasions; which adds DT 15 to a whole lot of enemies that were originally pretty durable in terms of raw HP but not otherwise well protected. Sometimes the changes can also go Talon Company's way; if they show up with assault carbines or the like; but if they roll the usual assault rifles and combat shotguns it's a bad time for them.

Reilly's Rangers was always my favorite quest in Fallout 3, between the combination of ways you can get to Vernon Square, or bypass it, the fun areas you have to go through like the Hospital and the Hotel. And then of course you get one of the best armors in the game.

one of the best armors in the game? +1 luck doesn't make it the best, it just show cases that all armor in fallout 3 sucks outside the Winterized power armor and the Chinese stealth suit. And if you already have 10 luck, its actually pretty BAD...100 health 450 value...DR of 39 isn't bad but I don't notice a difference between that and any other armor. Not to mention the helmet sucks as well. So I guess if you're a stealth character, which if you actually think about would suck. Take you a day to sneak by a single mile of occupied road. Best to go all in like the US military when they took Anchorage, power armor all the way!

That was my thought. Bombs fall, building gets damaged, power gets cut off. Then there's the fallout, an influx of patients, violence and unrest outside... they'd need to triage somewhere. Sure, sewers isn't the first choice, but we've seen people try to make their basements, drain culverts, buried train cars, and many other things into makeshift vaults.

Fun fact about the paid out for Riley’s map markers it doesn’t discriminate between new vegas and dc and all of the DLCs. So you can go to new Vegas and come back and get even more caps to spend. I made millions of caps traveling between DC and Vegas.

I stumbled across the Lady of Hope Hospital, (probably around Level 10) and the Statesman Hotel first. I killed my way to the top through every Super Mutant, and came across the recording by Sydney's father, by mistake. Thankfully I picked up the fission battery near the rooftop. I came across the remnants of Reilly's Rangers, then Reilly herself much later.

The first time I played this game the Statesman Hotel is where Charon died the first time. I didn't know companions could be killed. He had so much of my gear and I really did not want to reload a save to bring him back. I was devastated.

Exactly my thoughts too. Bombs start dropping, hospital does whatever it can to protect the people there from the bombs and to save as many people as it can. Underground tunnels connected to the hospital gets used to hold more people. Probably reusing whatever extra gurneys and beds that weren't nominally in use just put wherever there's space. I'm imagining people just sleeping on the floor on whatever padding they can find, even if it's just cardboard; since there are so many people and the beds had to go to those who need them most. (The matter of triage only makes it more of a nightmare.) Depending on the specifics of how the bombs fell they might have been overwhelmed with both wounded needing treatment and the less injured people nearby sheltering from the radiation. Very gristly and grim.

While he did'nt showcase it, the Reilly's rangers quest is also the only time in Fo3 you get a speech check for the 'Gun Nut' perk, which otherwise is just a generic skill point granting perk, but does allow you to tell Reilly that you've heard of her and how much firepower her group packs, despite us the players having never heard about them, and the PC having no oportunity to hear about them either.

Charles Worthington III is part of a running joke of characters in Bethesda games obsessed with pillows. In Morrowind there is a dunmer woman obsessed with pillows too, her house is full of them and you can find a shipwreck full of pillows with an invoice saying they're to be sent to her.

Jon since you seem to be running a crit build, you should really be investing into light armor, the Light Touch perk gives you +5 crit chance, that as much as the 1st recon beret. This is like the third time I said this btw. Its something I do like in Fallout New Vegas, didn't play fallout 3 so I dunno if they have it, like on paper heavy armor is superior in protection but it slows you down in comparison to lighter armors. Light armor also has several perks boosting its usage like the aforementioned light touch, travel light, and tunnel runner. Tunner runner with the implant that boost sneak speed from Big MT makes you sneak speed comparable to your running speed, travel light for making the trek through the world more bearable, and light touch for the ultimate crit build. Here is my ultimate crit build btw, light touch (have I mentioned this perk enough yet?), finesse, 1st recon beret, max luck, Ulysses' duster, and built to destroy. That comes out to a 33 percent base crit chance, 1 in 3 shots are likely to crit, that's not even considering high crit rate weapons. You're also halfway there to actually making this Jon.

The medical gurneys in the Dry Sewer. My interpretation on them is that after the bombs fell, the surviving medical staff from the hospital took cover in that sewer; hence the gurneys and corpses. Interestingly enough, albeit more speculative, you can find another room in Dupont Circle with gurneys and medical equipment. Possibly from the same fleeing group of doctors and patients? Dupont Circle ends to the north of D.C., and up a little further north-west is Germantown, with its own story of doctors trying to manage fallout relief effort. Not sure how much of this trail is intentional, but I like the idea of fleeing doctors finding themselves in Germantown, starting a relief effort, and failing.

It's been a while, but if I remember correctly, you can get a set of RR armor off of the corpse of Donovan. It's after you do the RR quest. I believe his carcass is on the cliffs above Evergreen Mills, or whichever raider spot has the captured behemoth

What I like about Reilly is that she doesn't like it if you act like a big hero with her. She's a merc - she gets offended if you don't ask for a reward.

She quite literally gets offended if you ask for a reward. She is a do gooder she likes the protagonist and expected you to do it free and asking the reward hurts her feelings even though she is a Merc deep down.

Correct me if im wrong, and i would love jons opinions on this theory. The reason there is a chinese spec ops manual is because of the escorts. In war and peacetime escorts are used to get close to high ranking military, important public figures or goverments. Statesmans hotels, (hotels of high reputation and facility specifically designed for holding events) often held conferences of importance and or that contain important confidential information and physical documents brought in by attendee's. The escorts would be able to access and eliminate these people, or gain access to belongings after intoxication and then sex, and almost more importantly spread word of mouth. Provide amazing services so the friends in high places of the people in high places will be happy enough to pass on the details of the escort (spy) to even bigger or more important people, this is still done currently in certain social circles that certain woman are almost gifted to people to keep a good relationship in a clicke. In conclusion, the escort now has unlimited access to all the right people, givne a network to all the others, given private 1 on 1 access with the ability to complete perfect espionage. Let me know if anyone else has anything to add, im interested to see thoughts.

Usually, asking for "pillows" in a hotel has certain connotations. Based on other information about the hotel, and it's use of escorts, I reasonably assumed that's what the reference was. However, after the hospital, I really don't know.

Just as an info for regarding the "pillow" talk, in SOME hotels to order extra pillows means that you want "special" services like that woman that got killed in her line of duty... so meaning that if you want extra pillows... yeah it was just that what he wanted ^^

In Fallout 3 the Ranger Armor has the highest DR for non power armor. It also has a nice benefit. It doesn't have the negative affects.

In regards of the station map not making sense. I learned that the London Underground purposefully leads passengers long ways around when switching stations while you could just leave the station on the surface, cross a street, and go down again to be faster. The reason is to slow down the passengers to prevent them from piling up in the next station during transfer. So maybe the metro map of DC doesn't make sense for the same or similar reason?

I always thought that all the gurneys and skeletons in the sewer were from doctors and nurses moving patients down to the basement to attempt to keep them alive after the war which is why there's stimpacks and all that medical equipment down there too
