That's dumb, I believe there should always be an option whether its possible to convince the NPC or not, at the very least behind a skill check. Dead Money even gave you a choice, if you screwed over your allies you reaped the consequences but you still had options. Also considering Zach's choices I don't get why you guys couldn't do that, I mean its not like he made solely irredeemable choices, he shot himself in the hallucination and killed the bad guy, he helped AJ emotionally, etc. At the very least while he's not a character to like, he at least can be trusted to at least do the right thing (like disabled the nuke, or kill a r*pist, save a comrade, etc.).

Also the idea that your choices shouldn’t affect what you can do with npcs is silly, if you kill a characters best friends or loved ones no amount of speech should let you just skate on by. Also dead money doesn’t let you get away with being a dick to your companions, if you piss off dean you have to kill him, if you don’t reroute the power control in the substation you have to kill Christine. Dog/God is the only exception but that’s more due to the quest triggers because only one can hate you at the end not both so you always have the option to combine the two personalities

Though to his credit, I think he's out of fucks to give and nothing in the mod so far indicates you should be able to do that. This is actually one of the rare instances in the NCR questline where player choice and critical thinking matter. The player should have picked up at the very least by now that Rancor is not a very good dude and is trying to manipulate you into killing the crusaders.

As much as I hate the three main stories, all the side content is great, mostly anyways. And the mod is a technical marvel. If nothing else the mod team should be proud that they got the Gamebryo engine to work as it did given how old and notoriously unstable FNV is.

Well, there are actually several psychics who don't need Nullifiers. The Master, Professor Calvert, the Arroyo Shaman, etc. The Psykers (as in, the only characters referred to AS Psykers) are supposed to be the Master's attempts to replicate it, and they turned out noticeably worse. A psychic who's not insane or suffering... is rare, but not lore breaking at all.

Kimball's easy to keep from dying if you just pick up the clues, one of the engineers has gone missing, so check in on the engineers and what they would work with. One of the engineers milling around is suspicious, and he worked on the vertibird, so check the vertibird. Then pay attention to the surroundings during the speech, and there's a dead ranger next to the tower. Climb the tower, and there's an assassin atop it. Congrats, you've figured out all 3 ways they're killing Kimball. It's really not that hard.

The mod seems to assume you did EVERYTHING in the right order by default. Especially the NCR questline, though I think at least the Legion one talks of your actual accomplishments. I think that can get busted though, I recall 'You kept Silus from being interrogated' being a bit of a meme on another playthrough when the scene broke because the NPC was out of range to continue the convo normally.

They also use special ammo with extra long bras. If you don't know, the cylinder moves forward and the top of the brass actually does into the barrel. The gas seal doesn't work if you use normal ammo.

The Nagant revolver is the only common revolver that does not have a gap when firing (the cylinder chamber fits into a special socket near the barrel)(when pulling the trigger, the cylinder gets closer to the barrel) , and the Russians used ammunition for them that did not have a protruding bullet, thanks to which the cylinder-barrel connection was additionally sealed. the Nagant revolver is the only common revolver with an effective option of adding a silencer to it (the Russians had a dedicated silencer or a model of a revolver with a silencer (I don't remember exactly)

I love how, in a story with so many "jump the shark" moments, the nuke takes the cake. So, even after so many hints that Rancor's a bad guy, and even after the player is made the head of the organization, you have cannot override his commands. You cannot stop and say "hey, the brotherhood's whole shtick is to stop people from using nukes" or "shut up I'm in command" or "I don't trust you, Leggy McSpyface." The Writer(s) just strongarm you into doing stupid stuff after giving you every reason not to. And they could have done anything else. Rancor coulda gone AWOL and snuck into the bunker, with the Crusaders getting you to stop him (because your the big strong hero and only you can beat the big bad villian man!) Maybe he had a secret team of specialists he brought with him, or maybe organized some Legionnarres, anything other than making the player help the OBVIOUSLY "super bald bad sunglasses man". And for what? So the Exiles could... betray you? You mean, they listen to their General's weird pal instead of the one person who's singlehandedly won them the war, went to space, killed a buncha of space n@zis and deactivated a superweapon, and the person their beloved general (the only reason they're in the Frontier AT ALL) made second-in-command of their entire army? They really think HE launched a nuke and not LEGGY MCSPYFACE?! Why is the story? Just... why?

Everybody is pointing out the gas sealing Nagant revolver, but it would be trivially simple to add a blast shield around the front of the cylinder. You cannot do that on a standard swing-out revolver because it would block the cylinder from swinging out. However, that's not a problem for a top break revolver.

Zach is half-right about what makes a good password. It depends on what kind of attack is being used. An attacker can use a "Dictionary attack" that targets words and phrases. You should use a password that is a sentence that is sort of gibberish interspersed with special symbols like "A#Butt#Is#Whole!" because it is too large to brute force and weird enough not to use a dictionary on.

When it comes to passwords, that advice is fine if it's one site that you have to remember a password for. But since most people have several sites they need to remember a password for, and since password reuse leaves you incredibly vulnerable, using a password manager which creates incredibly long random passwords is the smart play. Computers are no better at guessing random numbers and letters than they are using a dictionary. They literally call them dictionary attacks for a reason, they use words. Length is more powerful than complexity. The last research I saw, most password guessing scripts go up to less than 14 characters. If your password is more than 14 characters and includes uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols, there's a very good chance that unless a site is breached, your password will be just fine. But again, don't reuse passwords on multiple sites!

The writing for tiberius at this stage is actually pretty damn good. This whole part is half decent.... yeah tiberius just screams mgs 4 and 5 but.... it actually works. And it made his character more complicated than just "yeah he definitely seems like the legion spy traitor" archetype. Not bad. Probably my favorite part of this dumpster fire so far.

Introducing Charlene: the character who's backstory was taken straight from 'River Tam' out of Joss Whedon's masterpiece Firefly/Serenity... This mod doesnt have an original idea anywhere in it. It's nothing but shameless, hacky, ripoffs that are barely (if even at all) disguised as Homages. I know I've generally not been rage commenting, because I know Mike has a soft spot for a couple specific things in 'The Frontier', however I'm starting to really agree with Zach's level of ire towards this mod, it is just plain terrible. It is a long, disjointed string of poorly presented pop-culture references, which have been haphazardly shoe-horned into servicing the most cliche, 1 dimensional, uninteresting storyline I've ever seen in a video game (and I played Shogo: Mobile Armor Divison through like 10+ times when I was younger so I know a thing or two about shitty storylines in games). 'The Frontier' just keeps plodding along from one plot contrivance, to another plot contrivance, onto yet another plot contrivance and all of them were taken directly out of other, BETTER works of art; the Player Character is given NO agency over their actions; the references aren't presented with any respect for the source material; the additional gameplay features like driving vehicles and Tanks are horribly executed, glitchy, broken messes that were clearly never play tested and totally SHATTER any sense of immersion. The worst thing about this Mod is that for all the work that went into it, all the people involved in its development didn't have the wherewithal to ask themselves if what they were making was actually any good: just constantly adding and adding and adding to an already overblown endeavor without really cultivating and working through the ideas they present, never going beyond the surface level of the references to get to something deeper and more meaningful that the player can connect with. The Frontier had alot of potential, but it was all squandered by an obviously inexperienced Dev Team who just ran ahead with a rough-draft of a story and figured filling up the rest with references could supplement their story writing shortcomings with nostalgia....
