"In Fallout: Wasteland Warfare, players build their own crew from a wide range of factions, allies, and iconic characters from the Fallout series, then play in apocalyptic games of 3-30 high-quality 32mm scale resin miniatures through a huge variety of iconic scenery and settlement buildings, from the Red Rocket to Sanctuary Hills, Nuka-Cola vending machines and wrecked vehicles. Settlements include buildings, defenses, and resources that impact the crew's army list and abilities in the wasteland.
Fallout: Wasteland Warfare includes an entire narrative campaign arc as well as unique random missions with narrative-style objectives, and crew caps recovered in missions can be used to improve the crew's perks, weapons, gear, and upgrades for the next encounter. In either player vs. player or tournament mode, players try to survive the tabletop wasteland.
The game also comes with a customizable solo-play AI deck to control enemies that play to their strengths and replicate a faction's tactics while attempting a narrative mission or perfecting settlement-building strategy. Players can also team up with a friend to defend a larger settlement or explore narrative missions in cooperative games against AI forces or the post-apocalyptic dangers of the wasteland.

That was a good video! Slight correction on charge: "Movement" and "Charge" DO NOT stack, it's either one or the other. And there is no situation (except withdrawing from close combat to take part in another combat) where it would make sense to use "Move" instead of "Charge" for close combat. You would simple give up on additional dice that could help you win the scenario....

That was a damn good video. I was watching other tutorials and they seemed to miss a lot of things, but this one got almost everything I was looking for. I still had to look up what the ! point was, but I figured that one out. This is my first delve into the TTRPG games. I've mostly played the Fallout tile board game and Deep Rock Galactic Board game, but this Wasteland Warfare really intrigued me. I appreciate your play through and your explanations!

I've owned the core box for many a year (with PVC models). I'm going to watch this tutorial before looking at the rulebook to see if it helps speed up my comprehension of the game. Really want to give it a try!

Around 37:37, you measure with the yellow ruler and declare that Nora can't make it to the token she's trying to attack in Melee because the ruler doesn't reach all the way. Movement rules dictate that the "back" of the figure base is placed at the end of the range ruler, meaning that Nora's base would have been placed in the empty space between the end of the ruler and the token, taking up all of that space and Nora would therefore have been in base-to-base contact and able to attack without need to charge.

It can seem intimidating but I can tell you that it’s not as bad as you think. Just start with the tutorial and smaller missions to get an understanding. Hopefully this video helped.

Are you sure about the movement measuring? Usually movement distance is measured from the back of the base to the back of the base. In the video you measured from the front of the base to the back of the base. That gives the character an extra base width of distance!

I was thinking the cost would be similar to the board game but boy was I wrong! Seems like the best option, provided the gameplay looks like something I'd really enjoy, is to go with the full $822 package for everything. Yikes!

No rush to get it all right away. Go after the key stuff. I recommend base, Red Rocket and cover terrain to start off. It’s one that can be added to over time. :)

Great explanation, would have been nice to see a scenario and how the AI works but I know that would take longer. Anyway, I also got the board game version with CA expansion. Very disappointed, but keeping it since I love fallout. Here is my idea using the RPG or 2d20 rules set to combine wasteland warfare with the board game. So the board game will act more like a map and scenario creator with the overall goal being completing the main objective of the board game, then when the scenario starts I switch to the rule set of the RPG or 2d20. Thoughts? I've never been a Gm/overseer so this would help in already making scenarios for me and it puts to use the board game that I don't like and would otherwise collect dust. I know it's really up to me how I play but still holding out I can get people on board but not sure if that just makes thing too complicated.

@@RollingSolo I did a quick search and no, seems no one has. I don't use Facebook, or really any social media. It's good and bad. I don't have to deal with the negatives that come it it, but I also don't benefit from the positives like finding groups of people with similar interests like one near by that I could play with. It's a long term idea. I plan on doing some home brewing for sure like tweaking the AI, etc. How do you feel about this game compared to Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms? Lastly, will you be making a video with the New Vegas expansion?

If you only use part of your movement in one direction, can you turn and use the rest in another movement or do you have to wait until next turn? Forcing you to use these symbols instead of regular dice just sonyounhave to use theirs is obnoxious.

The rules shown here (minus my goof mentioned in the pinned comment) are just the basics. There are advanced movement rules beyond this to accomplish what you’re saying if memory serves. :)

Yes indeed! It all works for solo play. The settlement is all about how you manage resources, upgrade etc. The campaign is baked right into the game itself so you’re all set. The more content you buy of course the more scenarios are available. For Wave 2 they’re getting away from having a scenario packed in with every miniatures box. This includes cards as well. They’ll allow you to purchase all the cards and scenarios etc outside of the miniatures for Waves. I like that much better.
