A lot has changed since those RHPS screenings from the late 70's/early 80's as I see.

My brother is Sal Piro who is responsible for the cult classic! Google him! He's written 3 books on Rocky! He's also in this movie Fame as himself! They came to the 8th street Playhouse to film us doing Rocky!

+Lillias Piro So most of the people in the audience in this scene are genuine RPHS fans rather than professional extras?
@lilliaspiro19298 жыл бұрын
Yes David farrow! The director came to our theatre and wrote Rocky Horror in to the movie so his character Doris had a way to break out and perform!

+Lillias Piro this is amazing I remember watching fame but not knowing this phenomenon was a thing. I always wondered if they use an actual rocky cast for this scene 😍😍😍

This was my first exposure to Rocky Horror around 1982 on HBO at 13, having no idea the role it would play for me and the rest of us, the "kick the tire" line has been in my head a while now from this film and I needed to find the scene 🤓🌈💐🦄

1981... THIS WAS ME AND MY THESPIAN CLASS! A trip to New York, led us to a night at the 8th Street Playhouse to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Most of us were well into our 100's of times of seeing it and came prepared! Lol! Except for the cast of Fame, we were with these people who made the Rocky Horror the Cult Classic it was! What a great night and trip, but what a great decade to grow up in! From a Flower Child, 70's Classic Rocker, to an 80's Punk Rocker! Talk about a Time Warp!!! 😂😂😂

When a crowd sings time warp it sounds like a cult. But tbh this seems like the only cult I'd be willing to participate in😅

It's such a shame that the Fame remake lost the grit that the original had. Instead of the Time Warp, they focused on.....Sesame Street.

Does anyone know if dancer/actor Tony Fields is in this scene? Is he the guy that has on the long coat and big pearl necklace? I read that he is in the movie but uncredited. He also can be seen behind Barry Miller out of focus though?

Esse o cinema que eu fui em NY, no Chelsea. Meia noite a sessão.

I despise audience participation with a passion, and I'm not interested in wasting two hours of my life not to mention, my money, just to watch a bunch of gays and drags perform what they try to pass off as "art".
