Beware guys- no woman is truly single. Most are secretly juggling other guys lurking on her periphery, in her phone, male “friends,” etc. These are guys she hopes to trade up to, or to run to if the current relationship fails, or just as a source of attention. It was Patrick’s bad luck she was also teasing a psychopath ex. Jessica’s feelings of loss are surely real, but women rarely take accountability for their own roles in situations like this. One of the many lessons form this is that when you've come out of an abusive, coercive relationship, what you must NOT do is show your new life and new love on social media. Have a bit of wisdom and caution. She clearly totally underestimated the precariousness of her situation and the situation of anyone she showed attention to. Even when she met up with this guy to try and get him to leave her alone, the fact that she ALLOWED him to caress her when she was engaged to someone else and in a way that she knew to be totally uncharacteristic, it's clear that she was used to having her boundaries ignored. She really should have got LOTS of counselling and help and allowed TIME to get proper perspective on things before rushing into another relationship. I'm not suggesting that any of this was her fault, it was obviously entirely the fault of the guy pulling the trigger, but we have to learn from these horror stories

It is absolutely ridiculous to expect that a restraining order, or an order of protection, can stop someone from harming you. @@mattjack3983 I think if you’re a threat enough to have a restraining order issued against you, you should automatically have a GPS ankle bracelet placed! My Goddaughter and thousands of others have been murdered with that ‘piece of paper’ by their side. Such a waste!
@mattjack39834 ай бұрын
@joanneclyde3170 Well see that's the thing tho..there are also alot of people who aren't dangerous at all who get restraining orders put on them. In many states they have laws that allow anyone who requests a restraining order to be granted one, regardless of the circumstances, or how much of a threat a person may be. Where I used to live, in Illinois, it was called an Order Of Protection. And anyone who requested one was granted an "Emergency Order Of Protection", with no questions asked. The Emergency OP was for either 15 days or 30 days, and there would be a hearing at the end of it to determine if a more permanent OP is needed. So yeah, just because a person has an Order Of Protection, or a Restraining Order, against them doesn't always mean the person is dangerous. There are plenty of people who abuse the system, and request restraining orders or OPs simply to make the other person's life difficult, or to cause them problems.

@@puckerupbuttercup1980 Yup! I know it well. My stalker harassed us - me, mostly, but also family - for years. It steadily got worse, but I was told that no Order of Protection could be issued until he committed a serious criminal act, such as sending me to a hospital. It was very predictable, and then it happened: He sent me to the hospital, and finally got arrested. Unfortunately, I did too: For defending myself, really. Charges against me were completely dropped, but spending 18 hours in custody was not fun. The stalker pled down to a lower charge, and we got a two year order of protection against him. He violated it whenever he felt like it, and then the Police would arrest him, and then he'd get released within three or four hours, and all charges eventually dropped. It was infuriating. So before the two year OP ran out, we moved, telling almost no one before we left, in a neighborhood where we knew hundreds of people. The whole thing is absurd. When will the law deal with stalking? She should've stayed with him , she knew about Carol . I would've stayed married out of spite lol just so Carol couldn't marry him . She didn't have to live with him , she put up with all the other women . If she had not divorced him he would still be alive .

@@cyndieve6032 it's better to divorce and keep one's sanity. If she's guilty, Carol will face justice. Sooner or later.

What I'm upset about is that she posted things on fb. Why? You leave a crazy guy you should prob move but if not at the least you don't post things on fb. Telling everyone you are in a new relationship right away. What was she thinking

The only people that I feel sorry for in the first story are Patrick and his family. Definitely not Jessica, who obviously used Pat to make his crazy ex that she had an evil soul tie to, jealous. She is pretty but emotionless. I am surprised that some actually feel sorry for her. She is a bad omen.
