Richard was also a lot more assertive in this first season in pushing the families to come up with answers and make decisions. And the judges were a lot quicker with that 3 second buzzer, too.

Although both Jake and Elwood Blues performed on Saturday Night Live earlier in 1976 when this episode was released, it would be two more years later before they became known as "The Blues Brothers". (Which is why they weren't mentioned in "name a famous pair of brothers).

Notice how, in these early "Feud" episodes, the big board is positioned lower than it would eventually be, which made for some interesting shots, such as in the second part of the bonus round, in which both the board and contestant were in the same shot, as opposed to board shot. I'm thinking that changed after the show's taping relocated from ABC's Vine St. Theater to Prospect Studios. Also, Gene Wood's intros were more vibrant and "twanged" than they would eventually be.
