As with others here, where is the painted chromosome pallet located? Is that a teaser?

Can we be confident that paternal is always shown on top and maternal below? Does it depend on if one or both parents has/have tested? For some kits, I can't test parents, so it'd be fantastic if I know for sure which is which. I'd appreciate any info that can help clarify this.

I have the same question. Paternal seems to be always on top at DNA Painter but is it the same here ???

Great job ......:) Food for thought, I have no idea if I'm a typical FTDNA customer, but my experience with FTDNA has been almost entirely focused on Y-DNA. I did purchase an autosomnal test a while back, however other than looking at matches and how many cMs I share with them, I haven't done much in the way of educted myself on autosomnal, nor mtDNA for that matter. Perhaps some suggestions on where to learn more while we are waiting for your next videos? In this, I'm thinking more of how to use your atDNA results using FTDNA tools to help in your genealogical research, rather than basic info, such as what is an autosomnal test, or a mtDNA test...:) Thanks for making this series, loking foward to it!

I'm suddenly 7% Greek now... despite having absolutely no Greek or southern European background in my family at all. Everything else seems about right. I originally tested way back in 2013, would a newer sample have different results? Or does that not matter

I’ve been wandering the same since I submitted in 2016, myOrigins 2.0 I was an even split between Central Europe and British isles which is consistent with my genealogy. Now I’m 58% british 29% Scandinavian and 13% Iberian. It’s absolute madness.

I don't quite get how the % is calculated. For example, if you are 10% scandinavian, does it mean you share 10% of your DNA with a "pure" 100% scandinavian?

Thank you for this video! Would it be useful to get saliva samples of elderly parents now, to prepare for your new product?

I think the sooner the better. The new features tend to be backward compatible. For example, they apply to my mother's DNA even though she's deceased.

Forgive me,as I am new to genealogy,but won’t this only work with my matches IF they also used this platform?

Compared to other companies it is not perfect for (North Africa) my results are perfect on 23andme / ancestry but they are weird on FTDNA
@wanderlustdetailer Жыл бұрын
I know this is awhile ago, but how did it change for you? On Ancestry it gives me 0 North African, 23 has some in trace amounts along with broadly Arab, Levantine, Egypt, and Ftdna it gives me a sizable amount of 12%.

lol it's more about learning who your ancestors were. A lot of people are surprised by what's in their DNA
