@@ed_Skynight In the Cleveland Show it was essentially revelaed that the reason Cleveland's dad disliked him (he came to like him more by the end of the show) was because he blamed Cleveland for everything wrong that had happened in his life. This was an unfair blaming, mind you, as he essentially believed that Cleveland loosing a game show as a child led him (Cleveland's Dad) to cheat on his wife, lose his job, etc. This flashback is before that event so it would make sense why he was still a caring father.
