Tried out these settings today on my 5nm DD. Perfect. Might not bother with 8nm, perfect as it is. Nice and smooth, better than my CSW 2.5 FANATEC base. Very good.

Thanks for this guide. I have been struggling to find good setups for my new CSL DD. One minor point. I think self centering is a product of castor forces rather than gyro forces, although they are all at play in that dynamic environment. Also, I wish the F1 games had such a wide range of different adjustments. Also, my motion platform, which I just got, has really added immersion to this game the most. So far. It is great fun doing barrel rolls over embankments.

Castor and gyroscopic stability are what try to keep the wheels pointing forward mate, castor can be adjusted for better handling (steering response) or better straight line tracking. Motion is great with DR2.0! :D

@@KarlGosling Yep. With castor it is because the contact patch is behind the pivot point, which is where a line drawn along the castor angle intersects the ground. This pulls the wheel straight, just like a supermarket trolley. Mercs have, or had, huge castor compared to most street cars. Or ones I have seen anyway. As you say, like everything, it is a compromise between stability or response.

@@KarlGosling you are better than you think. I finally upgraded the computer to a decent spec. Got a 6800 xt (can live without rtx) a 5600 X and 32 GB of ram. Tomorrow I will be setting up the racing rig again.

I'm playing with GT DD Pro 8Nm using the CSL Elite WRC wheel. I'm on PS5 but I'll have to try these settings as a baseline. Hopefully the in-game settings translate directly to the PlayStation version of the game. Great video, thanks!

It will definitely feel heavier if you're using a smaller wheel than my R215, I have loads of leverage for the wheelbase to fight with! lol

Cool. Pick up my CSL DD 5nm tomorrow. This comes in handy. Will upgrade to 8nm, just want to feel how 5 feels first as I don't have massive amounts of FB in my sims. Let's see how it feels. Cheers bud.

I don't have an ART anymore but I can tell you it will be fine, the CSL DD is only 5nm or 8Nm, there will be the usual flex with the ART but that can easily be fixed, I have a video on this.

Hay wanted to ask you something I pre ordered a 3080 from overclockers UK way back at launch. They recently have added a bunch of lhr cards at a stupid price. I wanted know your opinion on the matter I feel the the company are refusing to honour the pre orders

03:30 on a DD1 and DD2 the default value for FFS is also Peak, not Linear ;)

No it isn't, watch my DD1/DD2 video from last week, that is a fresh install I'm using for the screen capture ;) Maybe it's peak on an older driver version though? Or some other anomaly has occurred?!

@@KarlGosling I had tested this prior to sending my comment: when you click the "Reset" button in the driver it resets all Tuning Menu settings to the default values - which for FFS was automatically set to Peak. Maybe you did a fresh install and during the Firmware update you left the checkmark enabled for "Save & load current Tuning Menu settings" which would have set FFS back to Peak after a FW flash if you previously had FFS set to Peak before the update. But the default value for FFS for EVERY Fanatec Base is Peak.

It’s about the steering angle ;) Make it being 540 degrees in the Fanatec setup app or in Fanalab and you should be good to go

When you calibrate your wheel in game how many degrees do you calibrate it to? At the moment I've calibrated it to 900 degrees so 450 degrees to one side but I have no idea if this is correct. I can't seem to find anyone who talks about this.

You don't choose a DOR, you just follow the on screen instructions to go to 90 degrees and full rotation, literally until it stops.

Hello mate, I’m struggling with this. I’ve just got a gt dd base with the wrc wheel and I’ve got a few questions because it doesn’t feel right. First thing it doesn’t recognise the wheel base, it just says steering wheel and if I put it on compatibility mode the game doesn’t recognise it at all. The ps5 does though. Then, this might be a silly question but because you can turn the wheel as much as you like what is full lock? When I’ve set it how I think it should be the steering is not very responsive at all. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Karl, normally i was driving with below settings, but wanna try Yours since i think my settings are not realistick (i know there is are no ideal settings and everything is base on personal preferences) but mayby You could help me adjust it: FANATEC (PC mode): SEN - 480 FFB - 100% FFS - Peak NDP - 19% NFR - 3% NIN - off INT - 3 FEI - 100 FDR - 100% SPR - 100% DPR - 100% GAME: soft lock - on dead zone for stering wheel - 0 (by default it got some value that i dont like) Force Feedback Override - driver Vibration & Feedback - on Self Aligning Torque - 92 Wheel Friction - 25 Tire Friction - 50 Suspension - 100 Collision - 12 Soft Lock - 100 Steering Center Force - Enabled Steering Center Force - 20 My main problem with current settings is that i'm missing some of the details of when car is loosing control but i like the streangh of ffb. In Yours settings there is more information in what car is doing but i'm missing the power of overall ffb - not sure if adding self aligning torque will be the best way. Still i'm not even sure if my goal of ACC ffb quality is even possible in this game.
