Barely playable. I love the game, but after the second play through it’s a pain. 3rd play through doesn’t have new cutscenes and you have to focus on getting all weapons, which could be really tedious (especially the infamous Damaged Treasure Map quest).

Funnily enough, if you get the free DLC, he can wear 9S's outfit. And in Automata you can unlock his outfit for 9S. These guys knew what they were doing.

@@granddiety14yt62 Well i mean, 9s is literally based on him. All of the number 9 yorha are based on Nier. And all of the number 2 yorha (like 2b and A2) are based on kainé. In the new ending of replicant, the two kids you fight are the original automata. They take the data of both nier and kainé(As well as their memories) to make their automata stronger.

Automata also did have an easy mode and even plug in chips (passive abilities) you can equip and let the game play itself which I honestly think no one probably used

Well I don't know, I played both Nier and Nier: Automata, and the reason why I only beat the first one once was because the bint was so incredibly abrasive, it felt an oscillating cheese grater was strapped to my ear. At least with Automata, it felt like the characters were a bit more likeable and the ones I didn't like were strapped to the side stuff I didn't have to do. My personal favorites in that one was Pascal and the robot with the pink bow(wore that sucker for the remainder of the game whenever I played 2B.)

@@janterri3539 not necessarily. Protagonists are not similar at all. 9S is all about descending into madness from losing all that matters to him, and nobody does that in replicant. Kaines story is essentially a love story that's about her loving the Protagonist because he treated her differently, while 9S and 2B love story is born from loneliness and desire for someone to give them reason to live. What im trying to say is kaine and brother NieRs love story is a romance. While 2B and 9S love story is a tragedy. Then there's emil and A2 who I haven't mentioned, but those 2 aren't Similar to each other, or the other characters. A2 is based on kaine, but A2 doesn't seek companionship or love. So these games characters are very different from each other, and the love storys themselves are polar opposites of being tragedy vs romance.

The Red Bag Couple’s story was heartbreaking. Adds more pain when you did “The Promised Quest” Also the first delivery quest had me going back to the client five times. What a nightmare

on the one hand, young brother nier's outfit was available as DLC for 9S in automata. on the other, I lost it when he called older brother nier as "14XL"

Or hell, maybe his Drakengard 1 outfit for young Nier and his Drakengard 2 outfit for the older version, with Kaine, of course, getting Zero's outfit.

@@jemiebridges3197 I bought the game for $60 and enjoyed it so much that when they announced another run of the $200 special edition that comes with the soundtrack, I bought it, and I was only midway through the second playthrough at that point. There's a lot of grinding and backtracking, but once you can ride boars and get a certain weapon, that's not so bad. The big story beats were worth the grind, and the fighting is actually fun in this version.

It doesn't take that long to travel in this game and you start dashing after running for a few seconds which makes the package quests super fast. All you have to do is avoid enemies or at least attack from afar. The boar riding makes traveling even faster.
