Fane A60 vs A30: Fane AlNiCo Showdown

I still keep hearing the same difference between them that I do in the older comparison video. The A30 has this more nasally focus with high-gain, the A60 "breathes" a little more, but has more of a high-mid thing happening... or my ears are bust LOL! I prefer the A60 between these two, but that can change depending on the amp.

Almost no sacrifice in the top end to go double power handling, very cool. I'm finding that I'm more of a ceramic guy, but then I hear demos like this and wonder if I'm wrong. Some alnicos breakup in an unflattering way that loses clarity, some apparently don't.

Thanks for doing this Zilla! I would like it if you there at Zilla could give us a few words about your impressions there in the room. I'm listening with decent speakers (not small) with a power amp ...and across YT the difference is pretty subtle! = bit more beef with the 60 and more top with the 30, Duh!... had to play very close attention to hear that though... Not obvious to the casual observer (listener)! Thinking the compression you hear in the room differs from what's coming thru? I like to get the natural speaker compression that may be had from lower powered speakers...so If I had to place an order now - it'd probably be the 30w ...but can't tell for sure. I know what I ask can be a problem because some people watch to see how the gear they already bought fares and then get snippy if they don't hear praise for that one...Fuck those people! (see...snippy!) I kid! Anyway Zilla, thank you! I do like what you guys are doing...even if I can't hear the differences... Too much loud music...eh?

haha yeah that's true, I think a lot of people are looking for confirmation that their choice was right... speakers are harder to switch out that a pedal ;).... as far as these two go, I was surprised at how close they sound, it comes out a bit more with higher gain but generally people wouldn't be doing that with these too. The 30 is going to give you more compression as it gets pushed but then I guess the 60 has the safety net regarding power. It's rare that two speakers would be so close, I'd probably make my choice of practical reasons rather than tone. We've got a longer format video on Fanes coming out today and at the end on next week too and I think I pretty much say the same thing there. Thanks for watching and for the insightful comment.

Big fane fan here, I just can't understand why they are not making 10" now, I'd buy, I did long ago with the alnico axioms, best speakers ever, to me

I'm not sure why but I guess it might be due to 10s not actually being all that popular.. that said, it's hard to push them if manufacturers aren't making many of them.
