Ngl I kind of love it. The only other break-up he took this hard was the Abbey one and that was, as he said, his most transformative relationship, until Tommy. If this is the beginning of Buddie's arc, it means the showrunner chooses the most dramatic storyline for it (which I'm not surprised for a TV show). Because, if Buck realizes his feeling at this moment, Eddie is still canonically straight. So, even if Buck wants Eddie to not leaving, he can't confess his feeling to Eddie because he may think that it's unrequited and fear that it will even push Eddie further away from him. He also has no other way to convince Eddie to stay in LA because he knows Chris is Eddie's first priority. So, he will see Eddie leaving unable to do anything and will be more than devastated after that. Falling in love with your straight best friend is like the most of the most dramatic queer trope. Now, it's up to Eddie to realize his feeling and come back to rescue Buck.

The theory began when in a previous season, Buck says that his previous couches came with girlfriends, Eddie corrects him by saying that his girlfriends came with couches, Buck says he is worried about picking the wrong 'couch' again. Buck often finds comfort and relaxation on Eddie's couch, leading the audience to believe that there could be a connection between the two. So, according to the theory, when Buck says "we should move this to the couch" it could be seen as buck saying "We should be together." There are other scenes of "proof" of the theory but hopefully this explains it well enough.

There are so many options to end this story so, let's wait and see. Eddie is just thinking about leaving, not leaving. As a single parent, i feel sorry for him but he should try to discuss with his son first because, going to El Paso without telling him, wouldn't be a good idea. Christopher doesn't want to see him so Eddie would be alone over there and Buck would be even more anxious. Don't forget Eddie's testament, that could play a role too. If Eddie had an accident, Buck could ask Christopher to come back. Eddie would open his eyes at the end of the episode and smile to Buck and Chris... Maybe it could be his "wtf?" moment or not, but it would show that their friendship is more important than anything. That would be great too. Buck could phone Chris and try to make him realise what his father could do for him etc etc... Wait and see... We are just talking about two characters in a show, no stress! 😅

@@richardpoteat6324 if I remember correctly it was 8x06, but if Eddie goes back to his hometown, then I will miss him since he and Buck are a good Duo at work and best friends. Loved how they both looked after each other like brothers. hope there will be more episodes for season 8 or more seasons of 9-1-1 LA

Buck is still pining for Tommy. While we had prior indications that Buck could be bi, there have never been any Eddie could be gay moments on the show. When Tommy told Eddie he was on a date with Tommy, Eddie acted like a straight dude comfortable with his own sexuality and oblivious to the fact that Tommy or Buck could be gay. In my experience, guys on the DL are hypersensitive to these things because of their own internal struggles. Eddie was cool about Buck coming out and wasn't the least bit jealous and encouraged Buck to call Tommy. I can see Buck being attracted to Eddie but I haven't seen that from Ryan's portrayal of Eddie.

That's because Eddie's sexuality isn't wrapped up in Buck so he wouldn't see Buck dating a guy as an issue just like Buck wanting to call Tommy is actually about his own abandonment issues. Eddie discovering he's gay is separate from Buck and Eddie getting together. Also "never been any" gay moments as if the man didn't have a panic attack about his gf meanwhile this scene starts with a literal gay joke.

@@kyjuan89 Oliver said in an interview earlier this year: "I see what everybody else sees. Like, I watch the same show. I don’t think that the Buddie fans are wrong." It seems like Oliver is also blinded, folliwing your logic.
