Right like I can never ever understand how can people overlook the emotions that this whole album exhibits. It's not solely about the technicality of the vocals it's more about the emotional weight it carries. One of the parts that hit me hard in the feels was when Issac sung 'Concorde and I die free this time' followed by the instrumental 'breakdown?'. If that doesn't make you ascend to another reality I don't know what will.

I can see reasons to why it wouldn't get a perfect score - pacing issues/some tracks may drag a little too much - production and mixing may come off a little dry and sterile - may play into "indie" tropes that a few listeners may find tiring. None of that phases me though. I think it's perfect.

Im an actor in a theatre club in my college and I think isaac nails his singing style because of his poetry dramatization style of delivery. He leans more to the feeling and the emotion rather than singing techniques and it works wonders with his voice. Perfect example of this is in their first album. Most of the lyrics are performed without actually being sung? If that makes sense.

I think Basketball Shoes takes a double meaning with the lyrical changes. Especially with the context of him leaving the band and that being a decision that’s obviously been brewing for a while. “Oh your generous loan to me, your crippling interest” could be seen as if he’s speaking to his fans. The fans that so “generously” loaned the band their interest that consequently crippled him with anxiety and made him feel he had to step away to save himself. Might be a stretch but with the other lyrical themes, like Concorde (“I was breathless upon every mountain / just to look for your light / But for less than a moment / we'd share the same sky / And then Isaac will suffer / Concorde will fly”), with Concorde symbolizing the band/their success, I think it makes sense. Again just speculation but something to chew on
