giving something a "perfect" score should be scarce. most media you consume, visual and auditory, is more than likely just going to be average with it being sometimes terrible, and sometimes amazing. and even when its amazing it's still rarely approaching perfect. the fact anybody would expect perfect scores given out more often just reads to me like somebody who (not to sound like a pretentious snob) doesn't actually like analyzing what they listen to but rather passively consumes content. not to say you necessarily need to deeply analyze everything you consume, I certainly don't, but that kind of mindset doesn't even seem to consider that you should maybe think about why you like something and the nuances of the media you consume. just seems to me like somebody misunderstanding what goes into analysis and reviews.

Though I agree that sonically their sound is not exactly in the same vein of the likes of 100 Gecs Etc.. But they truly share the concept, and the general spirit, of making super melodic hook-heavy pop songs and then take it apart and bring it all to a wild and quirky extreme while blending as many genres as possible, which are generally the same genres Hyper Pop is blending today- Hip Hop, Metal and Heavy Electronic music. With all the recent talk and rising popularity of the genera I don't think I ever heard them being mentioned.

that music theory comment about you being "too difficult" is hilarious to me. my only experiences with music theory is having dated musicians who were really nerdy and loved to talk about reverb or whatever and i can follow along to your reviews without any problem at all, like, i can't remember a single time where you've used terminology that i didn't understand. either i'm way more nerdy about music than i give myself credit for, or... i don't know. you do great work!

Am I having a stroke or are the post-bass intro in this video and in the Politics Ruin Music for Me video exactly the same? I swear the mid-sentence laugh, the hand gestures, the intonation, and even the pacing of the words are all identical, either he’s replicated to a flawless science or it’s cut-and-pasted so damn smoothly that it’s impossible to tell where the cut into the new clip is, I am absolutely mesmerized

Memes aside Anthony I just wanna hammer home that you have given me a lot of music recommendations over the years, shown me other ways to think about music and most of all, YOU'RE A VOICE I KNOW I CAN TRUST when it comes to music! And that's precisely because of the repetitive stuff you do THAT WORKS and the quality content! I'm sure you don't need to hear it from me, but these adolescent teens just want you to change a working formula you have built just to exercise some control over you. You just keep doing you man. That's it, sorry for the long rant, thank you for all the years of great critique!

The beginning of this video got me wondering why there isn't a channel on KZbin that introduces you to artists or albums. Like 10-15 minute videos describing the music, about them, maybe snippets, song suggestions, etc. I feel like people would love that considering how busy people are. I like discovering new artists but don't have time to listen to 10+ albums to find a good one.
