Me 2 but you can't really compare French's Yellow Classic to Grey Poupon since Grey Poupon is a dijon mustard and French's is just a standard yellow classic american kind. Grey Poupon is not referenced more in rap music because it's more "luxurious" but because dijon is a superior kind of mustard. But for sure go ahead and rap about the bland boring taste of French's Yellow Classic if you want. At least I wouldn't wanna listen to that.

In order to become an industry plant you still have to be talented and then have put in the work to develop that talent into something ready to be signed/shared to the public on such a huge scale. Industry plants are still talented artists who (usually) deserve the attention they get and just because they didn’t put a song out every week on SoundCloud like Russ doesn’t mean they haven’t put in the work.

It's funny cause the comment about Jimmy Fallon not deserving the roots is how I feel about Reggie Watts being on James Corden's show
@FirstnameLastname-kn5sw5 жыл бұрын
Agreed. And in reverse, while Jean Baptiste is a brilliant musician I don't think he deserves Colbert. But is my opinion here about quality levels or style preference? And maybe the differing styles create a balance. Baptiste with Corden would be cloying as fuck. And Colbert and Watts would perhaps become too clever by half or aloof over time. Maybe the 'cool' The Roots could only ever work with someone as happy/dumb as Fallon allowing them to be cool. Maybe pairing them with a dry Seth Meyers would just be like pouring cornflakes on your toast. As Baptiste with Fallon would be like buttering a glass of milk. Consider the non-musical sidekicks of Kimmel and Conan. Similar pattern there?

Fail Safe is a 2000 televised broadcast play, based on Fail-Safe, the Cold War novel by Eugene Burdick and Harvey Wheeler. The play, broadcast live in black and white on CBS, starred George Clooney, Richard Dreyfuss, Harvey Keitel, and Noah Wyle, and was one of the few live dramas on American television since its so-called Golden Age in the 1950s and 1960s. The broadcast was introduced by Walter Cronkite (his introduction, also broadcast in black and white, is included in the DVD releases of the film): it was directed by veteran British filmmaker Stephen Frears.

Two hot takes related to the Grateful Dead thing: 1. I like prog rock more than jam bands. If there has to be instrumental noodling in my music, I'd rather it be planned than improvised. 2. The Grateful Dead are basically a less bluesy and less interesting Allman Brothers Band.

Oh, and before anyone brings up jazz, I respect jazz more than I actually like it.

I think what the Lyrical Lemonade tweet was trying to say is Cole's platform is being used to cultivate industry plants. If that's the case it's a misinformed tweet. Cole Bennett is a tastemaker, dude is completely separated from the corporate music industry in that way.

Mark Walters Media 2018 Rewind- NOT GOOD

Fantano should have made the 2018 rewind. I could have been spared of serious clinical depression if he would have done it instead of the trash content creators that actually put it together.

Too bad you had to add the “Like if” to your comment. Likes don’t benefit you in any way in KZbin comments. I do agree though.

Glad you also think Billie has improved recently. I’ve found a few of her recent singles to hit hard in effectiveness. Plus the “When the Party’s over” music video almost made me get choked up.
