I’m so happy you reviewed Fara Homidi!!! You were able to put into words exactly what I was feeling - which is that while I adore the colors and the formulas, the foundation being in a compact (especially shared with the baume part of it) makes application more fussy than I’d like. I bought them because I’m obsessed with the baby blue and red compact combo and I am a fingers girly when it comes to makeup. I also strive for essentialism in my makeup routine combined with a luxury experience and feel. I think Fara Homidi hits close to the mark but is not 100% there yet. Westman’s foundation stick is the better complexion product, but I think Homidi’s lip compact is WAY better than the lip suedes, so they’re definitely in the same league. Thank you for reviewing and comparing them Kackie!!! 🩵❤️🩵❤️

Does refillable packaging really matter? Stick with me here; how many products have you not only finished, but also actually repurchased? It happens here or there, but for the most part, I try something new when I use up a product (or need to replace because it’s expired ). Literally once in my LIFE have I replaced a refillable product. I think the move is to make the refills in a degradable package that can stand on its own. So you buy the inexpensive “refill” in degradable cardboard to try a product, and buy the full size refillable component if you love it and repurchase. Cuz how much waste are we making with these refillable components, when they don’t get refilled?
@jbridges9574Ай бұрын
Yes!!! Packaging that can be recycled and that uses less material overall is more important than being refillable.
@elizabethtangora435328 күн бұрын
I do love refillable packaging when it comes to stuff I use consistently, but I’m so disillusioned from my products getting discontinued. The body wash and lotion I’ve been refilling for years is having a “last chance” sale now, and I only got to refill my metal Dove deodorant a handful of times before it disappeared 😭

@AthenreinАй бұрын
I've been in pajamas for like three weeks now - I had covid and then I was recovering from covid and now it's my period, so. I also tend to have a rougher time in summer because Florida and I are not friends, and my preferred "real" clothes are jeans and long-sleeved button downs, so summer is lots of pajamas or a bathrobe and lying on the couch trying to not be too sad.

I have oily skin and religiously use Westman Atelier as my main coverage/foundation. When it goes on I find it that it gives me a much more “matte” finish than other similar products I’ve tried and it doesn’t feel greasy. I guess I could describe the finish as satin, which is what I always try to go for. Do I get shiny throughout the day? Yes, but I’m going to get shiny no matter what. Westman doesn’t make me any shinier and I’ve been using the Fente matte powder over top, which I think is a nice combo and really helps.
@crypticmedicineАй бұрын
I don't have any Westman Atelier foundations, but I have combination skin thay get oilier in the summer and drier in winter -- this time of year I always have some Gatsby blotting paper in my purse!
@stephaniemccoy8241Ай бұрын
Same for me. Very oily, but that doesn’t deter me from any foundations really. I do not only go for matte. I suppose it’s defeat, I’ll get oily no matter what so wear what you like. And I do like a dewy face, weirdly those foundations are often my favorite. Oilies are misunderstood haha
@arincape638Ай бұрын
@@crypticmedicine good tip, I'll have to check out the blotting paper!
@arincape638Ай бұрын
@@stephaniemccoy8241 yes! I'm going to get oily if I have nothing on my skin, or if I have something on my skin, doesn't matter! that being said I definitely avoid some makeup that feels greasy or heavy. I feel like every product now is at least a little dewy, so I just accept the fact that I will have to use powder throughout the day, but Westman has always felt super comfortable and a little goes really far!
@miiircyАй бұрын
Oily skin type here - WA stick is really nice. Sure, once oils come through it will look more glowy, but it doesn't separate and accentuate anything negatively. I am almost done with mine, and I would totally get it again.
@zeynepganz6066Ай бұрын
I'm combo/oily and WA wears very nicely. I have the FH compact also and I have been thoroughly confused by it since I got it. One day in vegas, it wore so well and looked great (I used the baume as a quasi-highlight) and I loved it. Got home to Colorado and it took me for a ride and saying using it is a ceremony is so accurate.
@megandcАй бұрын
I came here to say - I was playing with my Givenchy prism Libre powder and if you pull the sticker off the back of the packaging there are stoppers and if you pull those, you can shake out the powder into another container. I know you messed up and shrewd on the top wrong. You can it get out though the back. EDIT it works for the loose blushes too. It’s how I separated the colors for my pro kit.

The Westman atelier foundation totally solidified undertones for me! I had shade 2, I could use it but it was decidedly yellow. When it ran out I e-mailed them to ask what shade they would recommend instead, which was 0.5. I would never have chosen it because it looked way too light, AND IT IS, but the undertone is perfect so it's actually way easier to work with. I just hope and pray they have a 1.5 when I run out of the 0.5!

I’m the same vein of “this or that,” I’m almost out of my chantecaille future skin (which I’ve been using since you recommended it!), but after hearing you repeatedly rave about the Lisa Eldridge, I’m considering trying that instead of replacing the chantecaille. Would love your thoughts!

I haven’t had the WA one for a years so I can’t remember how that one did for me… 😊

Do you still have bichette in the Westman Atelier blush? I think when you first reviewed it you were really in a mauve moment but I would love to see it compared to some of the rich bricky berries you've been wearing more recently! I want one of those baby cheek blushes so much and that color is missing from my collection since my Phytosurgence Sublimate expired.

Hi Kackie, I have a bit more oilier skin, not over the top but still I get oily throughout the day and I personally never liked the westman atelier because it would not wear or sit well on my skin, granted I also used it all over my face, I‘m just not one for spot concealing. I rather have a base all over with more coverage. My mum who has more mature skin loooves the westman foundation, I gave it to her because I didn‘t like it and eversince I have to reorder her this foundation 😅 wish it would come with some refills too

Ähm Kackie, 12:05 bold opinion here on my side 😅 but i came to find replaceable packaging as a negative not something that’s ups a brand! In 10 times out of 10 i would prefer the gorgeous elegant westman atelier packaging over anything replaceable. Replaceable/reusable is gimmicky, does nothing for the environment (we barely use up our makeup), is flimsy, often so extra cheap made (to compensate for complicate „reusable“ designs that it screams UGLY out of the promo pics. For me a product has to be extreme good or better than something comparable in nice packaging to be exciting enough for daily use. Like RMS, who of i have to remind my self to use even they have a nice record of likeable products…but that packaging is a hustle.
@cr0wdedteethАй бұрын
the refillable homidi compact is like the lip suede compact. its a heavy metal so it isnt cheap feeling by any means! but i agree by and large refillable packaging esp in skincare can often feel finicky and cheap
