It's quite popular for asian makeup now to put light lavender/pink cheek color on the hollow of the cheek under eye area, or even the whole cheek as a blush base, to appear more youthful. Like a matte highlight effect. I can predict that light lavender color to be quite popular in places like Korea and Japan.

Yes. Besides, luxury brands are super popular in East Asia. I saw that color and immediately thought "oh this one's for the Asian market" lol If you look at K-beauty and J-beauty brands, most will have a blush like this in their line. I'm surprised Kackie never noticed tbh

Interestingly the purple blush seems to be popular in east asia (lavender blush has been trending in general). Its more about creating a translucent look as far as i can tell ☺️

I am not Asian but I am super fair and I actually find the lavender blush quite pretty on my really pale skin. I wasn't sure what it was that made it look so good because it really doesn't translate to lavender on me but that term "transparent" really hits it on the head. I have also added to some eye looks and like it that way also. Maybe it is the undertone of my skin which frankly, I have no clue what that is. I went to the Nordstrom's in downtown Seattle with no makeup on and went around to all the counters and asked them to help me determine my undertones. I spaced it over a week that I was visiting Seattle. I had several different responses. "Oh you have definitely cool undertones." "You have warm undertones." "You are neutral." You get the drift. I walked out more confused than I entered and frankly just buy what looks good and don't worry about the supposed undertone. Unfortunately, that does make it difficult to buy online when it comes to foundations. All of that to say that I haven't a clue why the lavender looks good except that I am basically a white sheet of paper, LOL!

@@deborahdoesscrap if you ever feel like it, you can get your color season assessed by someone who does it for a living- they hold up swatches of fabric to your face and see how the colors make you look. It's still subjective but I found it fun and useful for a stranger to tell me what they saw. I know ppl go to Korea and do it - there may be ppl in CA and NYC that also offer it - there's also someone in Canada that offers it and she posts on KZbin

I am Combo/oily and I love the Prada powder. I don’t think it’s meant to be color correcting, but I don’t know. But it sets my oily tzone well and it doesn’t make my drier areas too dry. It looks like nothing on my skin. It’s perfection. I adore it. It works better for my drier AND oilier tzone than my previous Laura Mercier loose Blurring talc free powder. BUT (big caveat) I am also a green person 🫒, so I have no idea if it actually looks green on different tones. Also…I have very, very sensitive and acne prone skin. This powder is scented (and I actually love the smell) but it does not break me out. I was going to try the Prada primer next because I love the foundation and the powder, but the AHA and sun alert… no thanks!! You saved me $50!

I think it would be useful for olive completed folk, as matching is still somehow so difficult. In the same way I could see it blending edges and adding back the right tones, I also think it could be useful for those of us ruddy people that sometimes when our base wears away or gets oily and breaks up or wipes off because it's winter...the green might really help set those areas where it usually breaks up and gives peaks into your ruddy complexion, or red irritated nose, rosy cold skin, etc. I think I would benefit in that way as a warm complected person with normal/oily and ruddy leaning, flush easily kinda deal I have going on.

The ysl lavender blush will be very popular in east asian makeup it's an expanding blush (usually not worn alone but with a diferent blush on top in specific placement) or for me basically a normal natural blush I'm so envious you can use foundations without a white mixer I'm white as paper and olive too trust me you are not as pale as you think ❤ mac nc15 or 10 looks like a countour on me 😅 makeup is hard 😢

So for Prada: that specific shade of green is the brand's "signature" color. A lot, if not all of their stores feature that color. For packaging, sure that makes sense. As far as making the powder itself that green, idk seems a bit odd (especially since I don't think the average consumer would be aware why that green shade has relevance).

I LOVE the Prada primer. As someone with mature skin, and combo in t-zone especially in summer it’s amazing for me. Worn it with Prada foundation and Hourglass tint and I just love it, makes me feel like my skin is pretty 😊. And the Prada smell doesn’t bother me. Don’t think either product is supposed to be correcting.

So, light olive here. I would wear that super light lavender blush on a day when I was only maybe wearing lip gloss. It would make me look more awake without showing up. Like using it in the highlight placement works on no-makeup days. I started writing my novel and I powered through 50 pages and then I got busy at work and I just cry at night because I want to write but I’m too tired and drained. I need to learn to take days off without being scared of imaginary worst case scenarios.

I waited so long to purchase the Chanel blush duo in coral. I watched quite a few reviews. Yet somehow despite my research and patience it’s probably my worst purchase of the year. I can barely get any pigment out of the blush even with a super dense brush. It just _barely_ shows up, and my skin depth is only medium. Still crying $75 tears.

@@mediumoliveI saw some people on KZbin have trouble with it and some people, it was pigmented and powdery right away - but one person really worked it and it seemed to have a sort of film/layer that they had to break through- I think they said this was to make sure it didn’t break in shipping - just fyi, from my other research on that blush - I don’t have it to say for sure - I hope you can get it to work… really weird how it seemed different in different videos that I saw - it seemed like the peach was harder pressed/lighter than the pink one
