Fast lane? Bus lane!

Many drivers are still being caught in the fast lane.. I mean bus lane.
Is it possible that there are still so many drivers that haven't seen the signs, lane markings, barriers and all the media attention and various agencies information dissemination efforts about the exclusive bus lane?

When I saw that video with the people trying to get a photo with the singer, it really reminded me of the violators that the MMDA often apprehend... the excuses and reasoning. Imagine, not only are you trying to force something, but you even recorded it and uploaded it. I don't know whether it's even a secret recording or if they told her 🤷‍♂️

So what shall we do to correct it? Pray for them??? We all know what to do... To really TEACH them where it HURTS.... But we DON'T t because it takes away from their livelihood.. to feed kids... Family...Send to school.. etc. Etc. I am ALL for ticketing them 5K-6K minimum for breaking a simple traffic law.. but to do this, have to keep EMOTIONS checked. Break the law, you'll hurt yourself and your family. Singapore went this route in the 80s and 90s. Look at how disciplined they are.

I don't believe that this will work either, remember during the Bayani Fernando days when they put "Bawal Tumawid, Nakamamatay" along EDSA but Filipinos would still cross EDSA. I don't know if they just see the signs as challenges instead of following them.

this won't be necessary... the fact that bus lane is just exclusive for buses only and all buslane entry has this " Bus Only " Signage. that should be enough for driver's who's well disciplined and know's how to obey traffic rules and regulations. and after all those social media videos, news on tv etc, many people still disobey the very simple traffic rules.. more signage and police visibility is not what they need... DISCIPLINE/RESPECT/COMMON-SENSE. These are what they need.

Bus lane na naman. Wala bang video na ang huhulihin naman mga bus na lumalabas ng bus lane? Di kc ako dumadaan dyan kaya feeling ko tuloy pwede ang bus whether sa bus lane or hindi. Also, hindi lang ordinaryong tao pasaway, pati law enforcement 4:35 Kahit na ticketan yan nakukuha nila ng libre license nila. Ako nga hindi law enforcement nakuha ko libre license ko nun, napatunayan ko na mali huli sa akin (may cctv sa lugar). Papakasuhan ko sana yung enforcer ng danyos kaso, kaso yung kaibagan ko na public official sabi wag na. FYI: Walang pananagutan enforcer sa maling huli, pero pag may naging negatibong epekto, pwede nyo silang kasuhan para sa danyos.

As someone commented, inconvenience these drivers who habitually violate the bus lane by making them make a u turn. Also, I would suggest to start ticketing from the rear, so that those in the rear wait as long as those in the front.

They should advise the owners of those stickers to remove them if they are not associated with any government agency, else risk some penalty. The fradulent identification should have some consequences. Government should order stores to ban the sale of such stickers.

Make these bus lanes like SLEX or NLEX, where they use RFIDs for all entrance and exit points. Only authorized vehicles (buses, ambulances, etc.) can have those RFIDs.

Because this is one of the biggest reasons why it's so traffic in Manila, not to include trikes counter flowing and commuters occupying a lane or two while waiting for a bus or jeep.

People who have stickers and markings on their vehicles like for governments should be ask for papers, evidence, and IDs that they are really from the government and HAVE approval to use the sticker and markings to place on their vehicles. And if they broke the law they should've atleast have a HUGE penalty because they're using an excuse to use an unauthorized sticker or markings which they are not allowed in the first place. It's been years people abusing this kind of sticker or markings just to scare people while they are not really in the government and all... sigh...

Kung laging ganito, dapat may nagbabantay na sa entrance ng bus lane, checkpoint style yung may inaangat na parang parking entrance. Wala din silbe yung harang sa gilid sa highway kasi entrance lang ng bus lane maraming pasaway ang dadaan para mabilis byahe nila.

The thing is, there's not just one entrance and exit. There's multiple openings in the bus way, to provide access for emergency vehicles. So you'd have to assign dozens of enforcers to guard every access point, 24/7. That means you'd be taking them away from other places that they're needed. And where does it end? Does every traffic light need an enforcer to tell people not to ignore the red light? Regular ticketing and information campaigns will deter the majority of people. But it won't happen overnight.

LTO should increase the penalty to ₱25,000 for using that bus lane same as in the US. If you use the carpool lane that's a ₱425 ticket.

You need to impose HIGH fines and post the fines so everybody can see and with no exceptions since these bus lanes are being used by emergency vehicles as well. In other countries, the fines are well emphasized which represents a larger amount. On the other hand, please check those hard headed bus drivers in east avenue, taking passengers right where the no-loading sign is, and those Jeepneys along Quezon avenue, ERod and Manila Espana area wherein the drivers do not use headlights during night time. We should not be too lenient and impose high fines.

They apprehend the private vehicle using the bus lane but those PUVs who are PARKING IN NO PARKING SIGN, LOADING AND UNLOADING IN NO LOADING, UNLOADING SIGN near the area. Tsk tsk tsk. They are using the bus lane to avoid those PUV who's causing the traffic. And the worst part is there are enforcers in that area letting those PUV load/unload and even wait for passengers.
