Years ago as a kid we used a Velodrome to do Oval racing. Stood up in the seats so we could see the whole circuit. Ran an RC10L round it. Was fast but no where near this fast (was brushed motors and NiCad batteries then, now it's brushless and LiPo, way more powerful)

100 MPH is pretty easy with brushless setups. I have a Losi Mini 8ight that I ran 107 MPH and a TC 5 that hit 113. The Losi was on 2s and the TC5 had a 3s. I thought about a custom CF setup using 6s or maybe 8s to try and hit 150 but, I got out of speed runs and back into off road racing.

107 on a mini 8 with a 2 cell... nah.. maybe a 3 cell.. i dont even care what gearing you were running...the motor runs out of voltage to push that fast.. and on 3s the car wont stay on the ground passed 80...*ive already attempted it*

Use the Mini Revo gear mod with the 45 tooth Spur, use a 45 tooth pinion. I have a 4 pole 2848 7800 KV (Pulls over 110 amp) motor that has a 4mm shaft. I use a Mamba MAX Pro ESC, Maxx Amps batteries and everything that can be CF, is. I have the Phat Bodies Truggy body and It's lowered to about 6mm all the way round using long set screws in the a-arms. I did drill out the chassis to cut weight but the flex made it drive unstable while on power. Not sure of your setup but this works. I do use 10th scale on road foam tires and Paragon Traction compound when I do my speed runs.
