Dr. I have a question for you. Can someone with Chrohn's and anemia do OMD carnivore or not? Is there anything I should know or do to do it safely? I have fatigue and neuropathy in my toes. I am trying to get rid of Chrohn through fasting but not sure about anemia. Thank you.
@raduamariei87723 жыл бұрын
Carmen that’s right. But just in the Orthodox Church, you will find this type of fasting, half years any type of food and half year vegan food(no milk, no eggs) just vegetables and that in small amounts. The biggest period of fast is before esters time-50 days, then we have before Christmas from 15 November until 25 December, we have fasting before celebration of St Peter and Paul, and before dormitation of Mother of God from 1 August until 15 August. So all this periods are fasting one, plus every Wednesday and Friday. The hardest one is ester one, because we can’t add oil in our food and last 6 days we eat just one time per day or at all which is black fasting-no food and no water. After this 50 days when you eat or drink meat/milk you will not find any pleasure in this food and just want to continue with the vegan one…after few days everything comes to normal

I'm an active and healthy senior citizen who lives in food jeopardy, I fast a couple of days a week not just for health but for a way to save on the cost of my food. Being keto & fat adapted I can fast without feeling like I'm starving and help both my health and food situation. But it is different when to eat or not is a choice.

During my pregnancy, I unintentionally fasted. I didn't realize what I was doing, it was just how my body wanted to eat. Usually was about a 12-15 hour fast every day. My baby is now 3 months old, was born super healthy and still is. I'm still fasting, strictly breastfeed and have no supply issues. Baby is growing like a weed, was rolling over at 5 weeks old, holding his head up by 2 weeks and working on standing already. Edited to add: my last child was a 10 lb 10 oz baby. My 3 month old was 7 lb 11 oz, a much better, healthier birth weight.

Thank you so much for this video Dr. Ekberg! I’m a senior in high school and I’ve taken an initiative to improve my health this year. don't ever quit this lifestyle. I wish I had this information 25yrs ago when I was a senior in high school. learned it all at 42yo and am in better shape now than I was at 17/18 as a senior in high school.

Wonderful to see a young person learning from these Dr. Ekberg videos. I am just two years into my health journey and was clueless until then. I was eating what I thought was healthy. I ate whole grains, bread, cereal, pasta, oatmeal, yogurt and many fruits/vegetables. I had cut most meat except seafood, fish and chicken breast. I thought my autoimmune disease wasn't caused by my diet, because I believed I WAS eating healthy. My disorder became so severe with swelling and pain. I spent weeks in the hospital trying to stop my immune system from attacking my healthy cells. Then, around two years ago, I saw that autoimmune symptoms can be treated and sometimes put into remission simply by fasting. I started fasting and immediately saw dramatic effects. I was having less and less flare ups. Then, I began researching diet to ensure I kept the beneficial effects. I have not had a flare up or been in the hospital for nearly a year. I used to be sick at the very least once a month and put in hospital. I follow Dr. Ekberg's teaching and feel like a new person. It's given me back my life and my health. However, I lost many years to illness. I am 42 now and feel better than ever. I lost 48 pounds and am finally at a healthy weight. I am so glad youth are learning these important diet habits before they spend years wondering why they are sick. You will save yourself so much trouble by learning here than anywhere else and will definitely keep your health by starting so young. I wish you health and happiness.

Been doing fasting (18/6) and low carb for almost a month now - Biggest benefit for me has been that my anxiety levels have dropped so much I feel like a competely different person, and I am talking about crippling anxiety here. It's probably not going to work for everybody, but it might for some and it's always worth a try. I also feel much better in general, have more energy, lost 6 kilograms of weight, eating and cooking doesn't feel like a chore anymore because you always cherish those 2 times you eat.

I figured I'd post a update here... maybe it motivates someone! It's been 2.5 months since I started now. My weight was 85kg, now I'm down to about 77 kilograms. I've also been lifting weights for 3 months, 3 times a week - I haven't experienced any sort of weakness during sports. Looking at the mirror, I think my body and face really look different, the bloat is competely gone. If I had to guess, my carbs are around 20-50 grams every day. It always amazes me how fast you can change when you really stick to something, and honestly, it hasn't even been hard to keep myself motivated since the results are showing all the time.

I've been on a healthy Keto lifestyle for the past 9 months. I'm 66 years old and have never felt better! I dropped 40 lbs and am now at my optimum weight. I have instituted doing a 3 to 4 day water fast each month. And will continue because of how good I feel. I'm hoping the extended fasting will help speed up the reduction of excess skin I have. I used to be on a blood pressure med but no more! The only negatives I have are that I do feel like I did lose some muscle since going over to Keto. And, when I'm doing my 3 to 4 day fast I need to pee a lot. When not fasting, I get up twice a night to pee. During my fasts I need to get up 4 or 5 times a night. Just wondering why this happens. Thank you Dr. Ekberg for all you do. What a great teacher! I wish I knew about this 30 years ago. I learn so much from these videos.
@drekberg3 жыл бұрын
Thank You Sal Lazuka. There are two main mechanisms that make you pee more. One is that you are using up glycogen, which binds water. The other is that when insulin drops, the kidneys have less tendency to resorb sodium and water. Use extra salt and minerals when fasting. 😄

Exactly. I have never been a morning person, never wanted breakfast but was forced to eat a a young person and was always sluggish and tired until the afternoon came. I'm a night owl, always have been. But since I started as an adult eating 2 meals a day I felt better. But my snacking between meals was my downfall. Since I eliminated snacking, cut carbs & sugar, I feel so much better.....even in the mornings! My snacks we're almost always sugar loaded and some other bad carbs as well, such as Twinkies, Hershey bars, sweets in general. Never was a chip fan so giving those up was a snap since I rarely ate them anyways but the sugar! Oh heavens! That was a battle for about 3 weeks..... World war lll in my brain/body for some sugar......no I'm good. And I actually eat some sugar once in a while, 1 treat only ( usually ice cream or a rate piece of candy ) and only on rate occasions, like every couple of months. Soda was a huge factor as well. I love pepsi and I actually have a small (7 1/2 oz can) every few weeks...if I let myself have an occasional Pepsi or ice cream, I'm not depriving myself and it doesn't have the " forbidden" draw for me.

Thanks to your wonderful videos about Intermittent Fasting and Keto Diet I have lost 38 pounds and never felt better. I’m 55 years old and had pain in my knees, shoulders, fingers, etc. I almost could not wake up from my bed in the mornings. I started 18 hrs fasting in May and now I’m doing 24. I have more energy, I exercise 4 to 5 days a week, my pain througout the body have disappeared. It has been a learning process, I’ve learn what to eat and when. I have just 7 more pounds to get to my ideal weight, but after that I’m going to continue fasting. It has change my life completely. Thanks again!
