When I started keto/vore at the beginning of March this year, I done a 3 day egg fast. It got my numbers going in the right direction, it was really hard eggs are not my favorite. It is the last day of July and I’ve dropped 40 lbs. and 36 inches, A1C is down from 11 to 6 I’m about to squash diabetes, no longer taking blood pressure meds and I’m feeling really good. I was always the fat kid since starting school and the saying kids can be cruel is an understatement, it followed me into adulthood. Well I’m 64 years old. I was lied to, mislead all those years and thanks to Dr Berry and Kelly I’m starting to know what living is. I hope and pray for everyone’s success and accomplishments, LIFE is GOOD!! I’ve since went total carnivore, it does the body good…

5:55 - tracking and also just looking at the body - i bought several long dressing mirrors (7$ each) from w'mart and i propped them around the house in strategic places so that im forced to look at myself. i normally avoid looking at myself, but since im actually doing things to fix my body, im looking at myself more often (even my face & skin) and it is helpful. facing myself (literally) & my various issues as opposed to ignoring things, seems like a proper thing to do in this self-improvement journey.

I followed Maria and Criag Emmerich for 5 years... 😢 Sadly this was a Big mistake. . Her calculator said I should eat 1246 cals a day and 736 on pmsf days... they often say ONLY prioritize protein and not fat at all. If i didn't have enough fat for the day it wasn't a big deal - only protein matters... Maria shared that she eats a small tenderloin for breakfast, a very small amount of white fish for lunch (maybe a little lettuce for some crunch occasionally), and has a flavored egg white shake for dinner... this was her typical day, she said.... Maria also says she doesn't eat her own recipes... all her keto breads and desserts ect... I think they both eay way too low in fat and cals.... Craig has admitted that he can't go poop unless he drinks LMNT. I could go on about my terrible experiences after 5 long years, but I think you already know how terrible this really is for your body.... My intentions were not to be mean here.... but I would caustion everyone who sees this to be careful following their advice.

Geez I love this woman! A joy to listen to!! My TDEE per Dr. Google (and his merry scientists) is around 1450-1500 cal (which is a problematic measurement system however I digress) and I find that my largest meal (1st meal / 11:30am ish) is around 800 cals and the second, around 5:00pm, a bit less. I'm 61 and 11/12ths 😂, 5'6 1/2" (169cm) and 57kgs (123lbs), I consider myself at my target weight, BMI around 20 and happy. I wonder at the '2000 calories per day' often bandied about because we surely don't all need that! And as carnivores, the metric is even further removed from relevance. Thanks for reinforcing the MAIN / FOUNDATIONAL principles Kelly ❤

Did the (meat based) TDEE scale, super persnickety in staying in a slight calorie deficit and walking, 2 meals a day, resistance trained. Lost excruciatingly slow. Threw in psmf days. Felt horrible, bad sleep. Started to just say to myself “this is not sustainable and I feel terrible” forget it. Started to eat with no calorie counting fatty meat, butter etc. the weight fell off. I’m at about 125-30 lbs and eat about 2000-2500 calories a day and sleep great. I can’t go back to calorie counting and 1300 -1500 per day. Everyone is different. Best wishes!

When this happens I just politely decline. I was recently on a liquid fast and someone at my farmers market brought everyone a small plate of deviled eggs. Typically I'd eat those, but not on this fast. I started taking the plate to be polite, but then said just give them to someone else. We can't know for sure others intentions although bringing a bunch of disgusting, processed food after you've clearly been on a weight loss journey is pretty bizarre. Next time just say thank you, but I don't eat that kind of food anymore and it'll go to waste here.

28:44 Re OMAD -- I watched a video recently (Low Carb Downunder YT Channel) which featured a presentation by a sports nutritionist / dietician who showed details regarding how much protein the body can actually use from a single meal - and if I recall correctly it was between 30 - 50g - so anything in excess of this doesn't get used. I've added this logic to my eating patterns so with my 2MAD I ensure I get that amount of protein and the same amount of fat (in grams). It seems to be working well and not only do I feel great, there's no fluctuation in my weight/size, although my muscles are becoming more defined 😊

Man you guys, I don’t get it. I understand that we’re all very different and different things work differently for each person. Believe me I also understand addiction! I was on heavy pain medication from doctors. I got over 180 8mg dilaudid a month prescribed to me, I did them IV. It wasn’t enough! So you see? I do know all about addiction. I’m off now and have been for 5 years! That was hard I’ll admit that. But I don’t ever go looking for them. I don’t even think about them. Hell I got shot since then and never even took an aspirin! True story! I have been homeless and starving before now and I decided to try carnivore January 2024 and it’s been the best thing I could have done for my health. My morning blood glucose is nowhere near where I want it! But I have no idea what I can do about it! I only eat meats I may have 2 to 3 ounces of heavy whipping cream in the morning and other than that I drink water! I can’t get my sugar numbers down so I quit checking. I can’t take anything else out of my broke diet. Ribeyes? That’s luxurious to me and my wallet. I find the ground beef sales each month and load my freezer. My dog even eats raw chicken quarters! I’m so stuck! I don’t have depression or bi-polar issues anymore but damn it I get so emotional about all of this. I’m so thankful for people like Kelly Hogan or Kerry Mann or the doctors in this community! I honestly feel welcomed and like I belong in this community with all these carnivorous people. See now I feel lost and I can’t hardly see what I’m typing for all the tears…. Luv you all!

Kelly, I took your class in June! Great class and I learned so much! One of my big takeaway was to track and stay curious! No beating myself up! I have tried the sardines and egg fast! I really like the egg fast as I love eggs! On the sardine fast, I had some issues with burping and one night I literally had one too many sardines and got heart burn! LOL! I learned one can per meal is good. In total I have lost 9 pounds and hopefully no longer prediabetic! I only want to lose 15 to 20 pounds max. Interesting that I am only about 20 pounds overweight, but still prediabetic! Thank you for all you do! I plan on joining your group probably in October for a refresher!

I did sardines for 21 days. Lost a wee bit in inches (I’m petite but want to get rid of the visceral fat - tummy and love handles), gained it back when I went back to beef and eggs. 🤷‍♀️ Pooped less on sardines, up to 4 days once w/o a BM, hit and my urine smelled awful!!! Back on beef and Immediately had dally BMs. Decided to do sardines 3 day a week, on the start of day 3 my pee got smelly so I quit. I might do a sardine fast 1 day once a week. 🤷‍♀️ Or 2 days now and then.

I'm one of those that can not get my fast glucose below 100 (on a good day) but typically it's between 110 and 120. Very frustrating. I did a 3 day Sardine Fast and lost some weight and felt really good. Unfortunately at that time I didn't have a Keto Mojo meter so I could not record my results. It did get me below 180 lbs for the first time in several years though.

@@lisalyons5381 it has only been 2 weeks but yes, so far so good. I'm lucky I guess because I grew up eating sardines right out of the can. But they have to be skinless and boneless in olive oil. I tried adding a dressing made from evoo with apple cider vinegar and Dijon mustard. Got the recipe from Ketogenic Woman. WOW! Excellent! I also tried adding a bit of straight mustard as well as a bit of Franks hot sauce. It really added variety to the "meal". I averaged 4 cans a day. I'll do it again for sure.

Hey Kelly, your opinion please. I have made butter mayo as a condiment for some time and its really good, doesn't seem to be a problem, contains butter, egg and ACV. You’re definitely my person, but I’m overwhelmed. Where do I start? I’ve been keto since 2018, but in the last year of watching you, I’m pretty much carnivore with some greens or chopped tomatoes or olives thrown in here and there! I’m a huge crochet, but haven’t figured out how to crochet and walk on a treadmill at the same time. My biggest issue is moving.

I just came off of PSMF having only water, coffee, protein shakes and bone broth. I felt like a million bucks for the first 5 days. More energy than I've ever had. Day 6 hit and I felt like absolute trash. I woke up dizzy and exhausted and by the end of the day my chest felt tight and I wanted to vomit. I immediately went home and cooked some scrambled eggs and had some soup. I woke up this morning and made an egg drop soup with kale and I feel SO much better! I love trying new diets to break plateaus, but I will definitely keep listening to my body moving forward.

Check Dr Cywes videos about some of his long-term carnivore patients experiencing higher blood glucose levels. His theory is that their insulin is too low and it's not counteracting the actions of glucagon (which is the hormone that orders the liver to release glucose into the blood). He has seen that including some days with carbs (~50 grams) creates an insulin response that allows them to lower their blood glucose. But this would only work if you have no carb addiction issues. Try Kelly's no carb recommendations first
