This is a horrific crime. As a Psychologist, it doesn't surprise me though. I see unprecedented amounts of "flare-up" tempers in society. Quite a bit worse than it ever has been. I think approaching strangers, whether online or in-person, should be handled with extreme caution.

Who’s to say that the perpetrator was hit in the head with the flashlight before the beating or was it during the beating… If someone hit you that hard that they crack your skull I’m assuming that he was using it as self-defense to try to get away from the perpetrators as they were beating him to death. His said that his lawyer ‘claims’ that he was stuck in the head first but who really knows… I would say that’s a good defense that he hit us first and it was in self-defense. Long back when I was renting, if there was a noise complaint, I just call the property manager of the apartment complex. If it is from outside the apartment complex then call the police. Why confront that guy and hit him with a flashlight and then get killed.

Well, that's hasty. 1) You're not looking at the back of his head. 2) If I was the attorney, that's the first thing I would do, get the medical records. Note: It doesn't have to be a major fracture with internal bleed to technically be a fracture. In fact, I had one due to an accident, but it was so tiny that all I got was a bad headache for 3 days. Incidentally, the friend appears to have butted in, but did get hit obviously. So let's wait for the evidence. It looks like neither side was in the right.

I've had noisy neighbors in the past and they were usually those in their early 20's who played their music at max volume as if they were at some concert,or grown men blasting the music of their youth while getting drunk and violent.
