I bought a later version of the base 6 months ago now. They came with the hard zipped case. I really love the wide field of view, yes there is some chromatic aberration at the edges but as it is getting close to your periphery vision, in flight you do not notice it. I have put OSD info at the bottom and there is no distortion there. I live in a high humidity environment and they fog up bad unless I wear them for 10 minutes or so before flying. I also have the diopter at minimum so watch out.

they do have the white v3 out now, as I'm sure you know by now, and I really like the next wave race receiver it has 4 bands. Picks up most transmitters. oh, and to the guy asking about glasses and fatshark goggles, I saw Steele Davis do a video on special replacement lenses made by an optometrist that also flies FPV. just thought I'd throw that out there, I saw it the other day on Facebook, but they're really good about thing their stuff on KZbin. Thanks for all the help, really enjoy your videos.

Insanely informative review, loved it! I just picked up a Storm Drone-4 and mounted a GoPro to it, now I am looking at FPV and this video sold me. I was thinking just a video monitor for now but after looking at a few review I have learned that watching your ship in the air and trying to watch a video screen at the same time is, well, foolish. I will be ordering a set of fatsharks next week. Thanks for the vid!

I have a good question. Someone I know said this was possible. Fat Shark can project the image from the goggles to the TV - right? Can it also project the TV image in the goggles? I am just thinking you would technically have a $200 oculus rift for TV based games.

Hi Bruce, i bought the Dominators and did not expect the IPD to be a problem, but i think it must be (and before you say anything i'm not a crim :-) ) I find it hard to wear them comfortably and sometimes experience dizzyness so I don't really use them a whole lot! I also have that fat around the eyes and have a job shutting out the light without shutting off circulation!

These would be amazing to have. I don't fly RC aircraft and instead I'd love to use these for some creature costume ideas. Would I have to use a wireless video feed or would I be able to hook it up wired to a camera? I've heard of others using a similar hook up with different video glasses and having to walk blind due to interference from other wireless signals in a convention defeating the purpose of fixing blind spots.

To RCModelReviews: I purchased the FatShark Attitude SD glasses in hopes of hooking them up with my new Phantom 2 Vision, but I'm hearing they are not compatible. I've seen videos where they work with the other Phantoms and was wondering how or if they can be used with the Attitudes. Using my cell phone is ok, but like most cell phones, you can hardly see the screen to watch in FPV when outside. I want to experience the full FPV affect and be able to fly my P2V from inside my house, inside my car or inside a fish house when it is too cold outside. I love your reviews and was hoping to see if these goggles are compatible with the attitudes and if there is a way to make them work. Thanks

I just got the latest foxtech Aio goggles Bruce and boy are they nice, no silly little eye cups that dig into the coner of your eyes they have a new wider black silicon shade that even allows you to wear your glasses at the same time if you need to , and of course they would work with all your FPV back packs . The resolution is fantastic , clear as a bell with no distortion . :)

I'm fairly new to DJI Phantom flying. Have recently added a GoPro but am not happy with watching on the screen. Would like to try FPV, but wear glasses to see close & far. Do you think I could use the FatShark system?
@Chilidog197010 жыл бұрын
Great review Bruce. Have you gotten up close and personal with those goggles yet? I am buying a pair of Fatsharks very soon and still in the research phase. Predator V2 are a nice price for starting in FPV and I like that there are not a lot of bells and whistles which I won't be needing like head track (I'm flying a stock P2 with Zenmuse and GoPro). My only issue now is pic quality. I watched another review comparing Dominator and Predator and he said the plastic optics was ilk looking through an old plexiglass window while the Doms were like looking through a clean polished glass wind. Do you think it is work the extra $$ for pic quality alone if you have no intention of using the extras that come with the Attitudes or Dominators?? Thanks from Canada eh!

You are the man! Call it as it is my friend. Love your reviews. I have a Turnigy 9x with er9x firmware on it. I have only been flying RC for just over a year and there are many things I do not know about computerized radios. Would like to see you do a segment on er9x mixing with curves and how they apply. For example on pusher airplanes, when throttle is applied the nose tends to go down and when reducing throttle the plane pitches up. Would love to mix elevator with throttle to over come this

Brilliant review (as always). I've not bought an FPV headset, as I need glasses. Do you use corrective lenses in the Fat Sharks, and do they work well? After seeing the Fat Sharks in detail in this video, I can see that it's not possible to wear glasses under the headsets. From reading the previous comments, it seems that this is a point of interest to a few glasses wearers! Keep up the great work.

@sloperdude11 жыл бұрын
I read about that too. If the Oculus Rift uses HD screens, you wouldn't be able to get the entire 110° FOV. It would be like displaying an SD photo on your PC screen. Plus the video input would need to be changed from DVI or HDMI to composite video, though there may be video converters available.

So in summary the "prefect" glasses should have: - several options of sun blocking eyepiece/eye cups: foam, rubber, silicon, stuffed cotton etc. - IPD adjustment - modular design for part swapping - automatic shades to protect LCD - glasses and casing be painted in german "silver metallic" (never gets hot, doesn't degrade over time, is more damage resistant than other paints, so I guess it'd be the best fit)
@dem0n1k11 жыл бұрын
Nice review :) I use Fat Shark Predators which are very much like the Dominators but the vRx isn't modular. I think the FOV is even narrower on the Predators. There is not much info on the video range. rx is build in the goggles and cant be taken out. There is a 600mw transmitter for a little more range ,but thats it. Do i need those diversity av transmitters? how do you hook those up. Whats the best setup for video range.
@mentuemhet10 жыл бұрын
Try Ready Made RC for understanding of the hobby. There's a question and answer section there. Plus, they sell "all you need to get into FPV packages." As far as I know, yes, you're right about needing UHF, if you only fly beyond your radio's range though. Aside from that, greater range is all about antennas and their placement on the aircraft, the type of antenna used, and the environment you fly in. An environment such as a city that has a lot of radio interference will greatly limit range, maybe. Now, about using a 600mW transmitter on your plane, or higher, that power might interfere with your electronics and antenna--thus shorter range--if your plane is small and you're unable to separate your components far apart. Some antennas are better for longer range than others. You don't need to hack or do anything to your goggles, so, just leave them alone. Since most likely, your googles already have the Next Wave 5G8 receiver built into them (since you posted this 6 days ago). Now, about the best setup for longer video range with 5.8 Ghz, I suggest you get an antenna tracker along with a 16-turn helical antenna and mount that on a tripod. For the aircraft, just use a CP antenna. Make sure all your antennas are right-hand CP. You will need and antenna tracker for the 16-turn helical antenna because it's narrow beam. You just can't mount a very narrow beam on your goggles and fly--you'll most certainly lose signal this way because it's impossible to track the aircraft with your head with such a narrow beam. Well, that's it. Look up You Tube videos on guys going really far on 5.8 Ghz. You can get all of the components that I mentioned at Ready Made RC. I'm not endorsing them, but they are a reputable dealer in the USA.

Hi, I notice on fatshark website they will have some HD (svga) glasses coming out soon. Question is, can we TX/RX true HD quality video from our planes? I notice F1 race cars do this but are they useing mutiple (4) TX/RX to make one HD picture, or have they just got mega bucks and made their own HD TX/RX. Can we TX RX HD video yet? Perhaps I should say, can you? All the best Bruce, dont let the grumpy old men keep you down. They're out numbered and can be voted out...

HD refers to higher definition, yes.. Please do note that HD are just better video goggles than the SD (i.e. better FOV, better optics, etc.). Its simple only put the video out from your fpv rx to the video in on the splitter/booster and on the other side you have 4 video out where you put the yellow video cable from your fatshark or a screen or a dvr , you also have one screew for each channel so you can fine tune the signal quality of your video out you are using , the splitter uses 12 volt and you can use a 3 cell lipo to power it up , you only have to power each unit with the volt they need separately not with this unit
