Thanks so much for this video. I enjoyed watching. I have done this type of style on own my hair a few times but using 2 strand twists instead. Although my hair is not as dense as yours, it still looks full and is much easier to manage this way. I keep the style for 2 - 3 weeks. I moisturize and condition every 3 days or so. I further style it in buns and puffs with ease, and it looks very much like loose hair. For sleeping I gather sections,twist and cover with a satin scarf to keep it neat. NO DETANGLING FOR 2 -3 WEEKS - YEAHH!!!! I am hoping that doing things this way will help me retain more length.
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
It will definitely help you to retain length. Styles like this are so convenient, not having to deal with your hair for a while can be a relief sometimes. Thank you so much for watching.😘😘😘

Hey Lilian! A few days ago I attempted multiple times to try these loose braids but for some reason it always comes out like a regular braid. Lol I can do the loose twists but I gotta learn how to this too because I love how it looks. After seeing how full your hair is (especially your ends) I decided that I will soon cut off my ends and some more and this year I am going to spoil my ends just so that they can be as full as yours. The way you style your hair is such an inspiration. I can tell that you take really good care of your hair because everytime you manage to make your hairstyles they end up looking so voluminous without added hair/extensions. This style is so gorgeous on you 😍I really enjoy your videos 💛 Also did you only put shea butter in your hair or did u also have a leave in? And how did you stretch your hair before hand for this style?
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
Awwwwn! Thank you so much, I really appreciate your comment.🤗🤗😊😊😘😘 Keep practicing dear, you'll get it soon. I used just sheabutter. I stretched my hair by putting it in one braid (more like a braided ponytail) for a day then I put my hair in a bun for another day before installing the locs. So the stretch you see is a combination of the effect of the braided ponytail and the bun. Trimming your hair is a good idea, styles always look better on trimmed hair. I think I need a cut myself. Thank you so much for watching and for your continuous support.😍😍😍😍
@qwandary Жыл бұрын
Is your hair also 4c? I think it'd just look like braids in my hair, but my hair is 3b/3c, ringlet style curls and quite oily, not dry at all. So the way things fall and react to moisture is a bit different. It might work temporarily as my hair is freshly bleached but her hair is much more afro so it 'hides' the braid a bit more.
@LilianOkibe Жыл бұрын
@qwandary I've done it on 3c hair as well. If it looks like regular braids then you're probably not doing it loose enough. Worst case scenario, it should look like an afro or wash and go for your hair type on the first day and eventually look more like locs as the days go by. The more you practice, the better you'll get at it. Also, try doing it on freshly washed and dried hair with little to no products.❤️❤️❤️
@qwandary Жыл бұрын
@@LilianOkibe Hmm Maybe it's because of the ringlet formation I have but they usually kinda clump a certain way when I put in braids, like wherever the hair crisscrosses in the braid, it pulls in tighter because my hair likes to curl into everything lol I call it octopus hair! Might also be because I tend to put my hair in loose braids or twists when it's wet to dry it with a lil stretch, so it clumps more then! I just tried it on my bleached ends and it looks less like a braid, so that's good. Might try this as my next style while my hair is still recovering from the chemicals :D

@LilianOkibe Жыл бұрын
All you have to do is not take it down and you'll have full locs in 3-6 months. You can maintain the roots by retwisting the conventional way or you can use the Lilian Okibe locs techniques. You can find all the details about the second option through the link in my home page.♥️♥️♥️

@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
Yay! I'm so glad to know that. 💃💃 You can keep them in for as long as a month without having any issues. Just check from time to time to see if you can still put your finger through the braid. As long as you can, your hair is still loose. ❤️❤️❤️

I fell in love with this method after watching your video😍 Have seen you say it locks up when you have it on for more than a month, so can i unlock the hair after keeping it for like a year without cutting my hair?
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
Locs can be unlocked even after years. Auset Ayokowa unlocked her hair after 7 years but it requires a lot of work and patience. The kinkier your hair, the more difficult it will be to unlock but it is possible. ♥️♥️♥️

after you loc the hair do you wash it to give it that full look or how do you do it ??
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
It gets fuller as it shrinks with time even without washing. I spray with water from time to time though, that helps to make it shrinks more. If my wash day falls in the time that I am wearing the style, then I'll wash it but I don't go out of my way to wash it for it to have a full look.
