This is one thing I don't think Destiny excels at, or at least he could improve greatly. Imo He always says his best conversations are through disagreements, but when speaking with someone he agrees with I feel like he doesn't ask why? What are the reasons you think the way you do on that topic? Not only would I personally find the answers interesting, but I think it could possibly uncover a potential disagreement or at least a difference in the way they arrived at a particular opinion. In the chat Destiny had with Kidology they seemed to struggle to find a topic to dive into because they tended to agree. But questions about how she came to believe what she does, i think would have opened up many lines of conversation. Her ideas on the individual or being apolitical, those are things they can dive into. But if there's no disagreement, I feel Destiny just moves along.

I really liked F.D signifier when he first started creating content. He was making insightful essays tackling issues around the black community. Sure, he was left wing but it didn’t infect everything he said. He’d still approach things with nuance while adding his opinion and perspective. FD's "wise sage" aesthetic really fell apart in this convo. And it even wasn't THAT tough of a convo to engage in lol I'll admit, I used to watch him a while back. I found his earlier stuff real insightful cause it "felt" like he actually came at a topic with a reasonable level of nuance and understanding of things(talking mostly about his pop culture media from previous generations takes) I like to think his older stuff still might hold up, but idk, maybe seeing him now in this light I might see his old stuff differently. I just don't get why it's such an essential part of the "lefty video essayists career path" to eventually get hit with "unrelenting debate bro hateboner" brainrot disease. Maybe there's some unknown bias going on with me, but I swear to God it almost always looks like it's the lefty video essayist who start shit against online debaters. While with online debaters, though I know they like to talk some unnecessary mad shit against essayists at times, still ultimately come off appreciative of the essayists(whether being dogshit or not) work because of how it tends to incite a desire for the online debaters to further iron out their views. Men are definitely choosing porn and OF over meeting women. It’s not they would choose porn directly over an actual woman it’s more so that to get women men have to face things like rejection which many want to avoid like the plague. Porn is way easier because there is no rejection, the women are very attractive, there is also no performance anxiety etc.. you have no idea how many men actually would prefer to watch porn over having actual sex, not because actual sex feels worse but because having actual sex means you have to please someone else and that can cause anxiety. If you are a man who insecure about your body, your penis size, your ability to last or stay up, your ability to please a woman etc.. having sex is scary af. This is never talked about in the whole “young men aren’t having sex” topic it always comes down to women being too picky. The issue here is that if you're so adverse to social situations that you're masturbating instead of meeting people, we have way more specific issues to deal with that "porn bad". If anything, what you'd be advocating for is encouraging hyper fundamentalist religious upbringings where masturbation itself is shamed and punished, to the point where both men and women will rush into marriage just to finally have a socially accepted way to satiate a primal desire. It's a good strategy if all you care about is people being pair-bonded and breeding, but probably doesn't lead to fulfilling relationships that are going to last, especially if neither of you are good enough at sex to keep that desire properly satisfied. FD is what's known as a pseudo-intellectual. Which is why he seems smart in his vids, but his lack of intelligence is revealed whenever he has to speak w/o a "script". To be fair. There’s a lot of moral positions I would find abhorrent for ppl to disagree with that I’m not confident I could defend clearly if hard pressed on them. I’m sure most of us do if we self reflect to some extent. I think the problem is even if you right that it’s wrong for someone to not agree with your position, it’s not going to be very constructive aside from reaffirming it to to ppl who already agree with you. Maybe in some context that’s the best action but trans ppl are in a place right now where a lot of ppl on the fence are being pushed to hate us or at the very least see as an issue that needs to be corrected. It’s hard for a lot of people to grok the idea of trans people and there’s a lot of fear that accepting us our respecting our identities is going to lead to problems. If someone is earnestly willing to talk it out I and only the most patient and well equipped people to respond and not defensive huffing about how we’re just automatically right. Ultimately I think we need to culturally encourage more humility and make it socially acceptable to say “I don’t really know how to defend my ideas right now”

Really it's because I am incredibly depressed. I am typically too emotionally exhausted and am WAY to socially anxious to actually meet up with someone.
