A lot of people are criticising my disdain of towers coming back. Yes I understand that the deck sucks and I am well aware of the fact it's at full power in OCG and does nothing. When people refer to new broken boss monsters they use the term "towers" to describe cards that are unaffected by everything basically. This is the legacy this card has spawned. This is the mark apoqliphort towers has left on yugioh over the years even after being banned. Towers should not come back as a matter of principle. Whether it's a good card or deck will be relevant or not is NOT THE POINT. The very fact cards like this exist and are being reprinted in different and various forms over the years (Megazord, Master Peace, Ultimate Falcon) is not good for the game. That's my thoughts on this return. It's about the principle, not what its practical impact will be, if any.

Trust; I don't think towers will do anything here let alone make it to the board. The only way to get it out requires atleast 4 other cards (scales, one scout preferred, two monsters and towers or SAQ already in hand) prerequisite and it probably won't even win you the game, utopia tl too stronk. You're right. Towers should have gone to 3. It is the most balanced boss monster ever created. Unlike other boss monsters, they even wrote how to kill it on the card, with lv10/rk10+ monsters or with non-activated monster effects. Ok you got me. Well I Always said that as long as Master Peace isn't banned Towers shouldn't be banned either. I would rather see it remained banned and Master Peace getting banned as well because Towrs is banned but they ended up unbanning Towers so yeah....at least it's some consistency on Konami's part.

Yeah, that's true. Towers is far from the most broken thing in the game nowadays, but I don't think we need more of them running around, personally. I'd rather them hit Master Peace, which wouldn't realistically happen given how Draco isn't super meta-relevant at the moment. But yea, I agree that at least Konami's relatively consistent/stable when it came to the hits this time around.

Qlis can hardly summon it under MR4 and the deck sucks nowadays. Its kinda weird that he came back when TCG konami hardly gives anything back to older archetypes

It's not as easy as it was before but you can still use Saqlifice after pendulum summoning 2 monsters and adding Tower with Genius. Hardly would say the deck sucks, with Gofu gone and Firewall and Grinder at 1, the turn 1 board of Qlis isn't too bad, I think.

Ocg has all of those and it still does nothing. Towers can also be outed by any link monster with a removal effect as they dont have a level in the first place so it cant be lower than towers. Its just weird to see towers back when he was in a rather recent deck and still see stuff like stratos banned who wasnt relevant for ages. Qli has been getting back a lot this banlist and its pretty unnatural for tcg Konami. Lets hope future banlists see the unbanning/unlimiting of Infernity, Shaddoll, Nekroz and more

Of the 102 link monsters currently in the game only 23 have an effect which either removes Tower or get enough attack to get over it. Of those 23 15 are Link 3 or 4. The 8 Link 2 monsters, which can also get over, all do it with ATK manipulation except for Security Dragon which requires being co-linked. With 2 Grinder and 1 Gofu it's kind of likely to open up with a Link 3 or 4 broken field. That doesn't mean that there is no potential for Qlis to come back though. Since the new OCG banlist has only been in effect for a month and spyrals haven't been top tier anymore, there hasn't been much time to try out the deck as much. Hand traps still probably are shutting the deck down too much. Trickstars, Zefra, Link plants (which did get hit in TCG a bit with the removal of dandy), Magician (also hit a bit in TCG) and Altergeist are the most successful decks in the last month and Qlis maybe can win against all of them except for Link plants and Magicians when going second with Skill Drain, lose 1 turn or Re-Qliate, as long as the field doesn't get Harpied or their search with Scout negated by Ash or Ogre. The deck can easily run 2 or 3 desires to make up for a negated Scout or Summoner's Art search. Or maybe Qlis are just bad and nothing can save the deck but I dunno. Would have like to see Stratos unbanned as well but I'm happy they made Moraltech unlimited at least. Also Bottomless and Torrential at 3 might make try out running Traptrix Raflesia again. Hope Library get erratad or banned someday, would like to see if Elma might be useful with the Nobleknight Link. Maybe they will finally take Hornet and Dragonfly off the list when the new Link finally arrives here.

The semi-limited and limited list exist for one reason: Konami wants luck to be a factor in their game. I'm on the fence as to whether or not this is a good thing because, on one hand, I want the game to be as consistent as possible, but on the other, I believe it closes the gap between tiers. Occasionally seeing limited or semi-limited cards allows a rogue deck, when lucky, to be able to beat a meta deck, which I think everyone can agree is a good thing once in a while; however, the issue becomes that many times, a meta deck can play the same limited of semi-limited cards. In this coming meta format, we will likely see lots of ABC, Invoked, and True Draco, all of which place heavy influence on normal summoning, and thus, are significantly discouraged from running grinder golem. This allows for the potential of a rogue player getting lucky and being able to overcome the meta deck. The limited and semi-limited part of the list exists to prevent combos when Konami doesn't print hard once per turn clauses, and wants to hit a deck's consistency because they want more luck to be in the game. How much luck SHOULD be in the game is a matter of personal preference, and Konami seems to desire luck to be a factor this format. Unrelated, but we need a table 500 tournament of all the best (worst) decks played against each other!

Which is a single, stupid card, thats going to be run on its own pretty much everywhere. Whereas the full grinder golem combo, while on a similar powerlevel, required things like security dragon, akashic, and generally a bunch of crap that most decks not looking to combo off hard with links wouldnt run. You just got done complaining about how extra deck space is too tight like 2 videos ago, i dont think decks will start devoting 3-4 slots of space purely for when the sac this in their opening hand.

The resort hit to one really did hurt the deck. It killed the consistency of the deck as it now no longer has 6 searchers. Trickstars are a bit degenerate but they were behind the other two top tier decks in terms of power. They also could do their turn one play in 3-4 minutes as opposed to the minute long plays of the other deck.

Towers is fine we have link monsters now the effect of towers states that it is unaffected by the effects of level or rank monsters links are neither plus with master rule 4 qli are dead moving the pendulum scales to the spell/trap zone really hurts them plus they cant summon 5 monsters like they used to because of the extra monster zone so you will be fine, stop whining really happy about the monster reborn tho :)
