I learnt power walking by being naturally late to everything. Great way to get fit while you sweat your way to the next appointment.

Hello, thank you for this wonderful video. I was 83.5 kgs in the month of December when I started to walk. Then, I came across your video. I am now 72.5 kgs and I do still go in the morning out in the field doing the same way, walking as you have suggested. I started jogging very lately but the power walking technique has really helped me. I walk in the same pace, keeping the arms position exactly what you have showed. Thank you very much. You have changed my life and I feel so light and fit. LOL, all my pants are so loose that I have to tighten them. Thank you.

Power walking is great on a treadmill too as you can add an incline and keep increasing speed. I've never been able to run due to asthma, but was able to take off about 30 lbs primarily power walking and fairly modest weight lifting. People would laugh when I said I power walk, but after a while they were impressed when I was able to hit 6 mph, which is pretty quick for walking and about the speed some of my friends run at.

It feels pretty good to power walk. I know it's not going to give me six-pack abs, but it provides a good cardiovascular workout. The trainer in this video is not muscular, but he is fit. Some people don't have physiques like athletes, so if you don't like it, just find something else. You can do this on your spare time. :)

Both of them are fairly fit. We can't all be a size 0. Gosh, people are so rude when they feel anonymous. Post your own pictures so we can scrutinize you. We all have flaws and I applaud both of them for pursuing health and fitness.

Get over yourself. your obesity is not the trainers problem. trainers are the solution. your self confidence will only get better if you stop criticizing the folks that try to help you. plus, your attitude tells me you don't want to get healthier by working hard. you're looking for that magic pill (that you know doesn't exist) and find solace in bringing down those that are trying to bring you up. Truth.

people shouldn't worry about what others are thinking when doing this outside, let them laugh if they want, they are not the one's who will achieve the results in the end and it just shows that yous have more confidence than them.

lol exactly! Anything that gets your heart rate up! I can walk 11km/h, around 7mph if you're in the US. I've had ppl trying to catch up to me walking and get pissed when they couldn't. Feel like a lot of negative commentors here fall into the same group as the ones I've met!

I've been power walking for so long, it's now my natural walk. Although I don't bother with the arms bit, as I already do a little weight lifting at work and home. I recommend breathing naturally.

Needed that encouragement regarding being self conscious about how this looks. Frankly I think men do look quite strange doing this but I need to step up my cardio game and this is probably the next best thing to running. Besides Liam Neeson says he power walks so if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me to give it a try.

@rebeiro, dnt judge a book by its cover...dnt u know that being a good teacher or trainer is not measured how he/she looks? Its all about motivation skills and wisdom..how u motivate pipol is an asset to keep them going and pushing hard...perfect example is cuz de amato, the trainer of mike tyson, hes a fat old man, but very brilliant and excellent wisdom about boxing...one who is not a writer but has taught more than a writer...he made tyson a boxing champion...steve is very nice, hilarious and motivating...appreciate rather than hate^_^

As a trainer who's always, always ripped...I'll tell you what this guy has - the gift of gab. You don't need to look like a sculpted athlete to be able to press peoples buttons and motivate them. This guy likes to talk and has an engaging voice. I've worked w/ many, many trainers less fit than me, that are still better trainers overall.

This body building crap has skewed society's impression of how men are supposed to look...nothing healthy about lifting heavy weights..I know because my shoulders are gone from lifting weights for years ..very few men look like Arnold schwarzenegger.even he doesn't look like that without steroids.these people look pretty trim which is what men should aim for not mr.olympia proportions.
