"Feeling Comfortable not Owning Your Games"

Recently one of the directors at Ubisoft talked about subscription services in gaming and that gamers should get more comfortable not owning their games, I personally, do not think that subscription services should have a major role in the future of gaming and in this video I explain why.

Great job , I just wish your videos were longer to cover up the theme better . Also , an idea to make is why there isn't any other Crime open world game except GTA and why no one wants to try to make one . Of course they are , the mafia trilogy, cyberpunk , saints row . In fact, I am thinking to make one ( it would be my first time and I have never made a game before other than a mastermind game on python but I can try at least) and why no one wants to compete with rockstar . It's just sad to me that they aren't any other options except gta to play a crime open world game . Even though cyberpunk is actually really good , and the new DLC makes it even better . It is not set in current time but in the future. Saints row were good until the community started saying that is a gta clone and volition started to panic so they changed it a lot and mafia , it doesn't really feel like a gta game .

I think that the reason there is no other open world crime games like GTA is because the competition will always *be* GTA. Rockstar pretty much mastered the formula so if other companies want to make a crime game they're going to have to add it's own original spin to it. Whether it's set in a cyberpunk dystopia, or in the 1920s.

It feels like everyone is trying to be like Netflix in gaming but gaming subscriptions are really stupid there is no reason for everyone gaming companies to have a subscription just to add bad games and Rockstar should have ever added a subscription for GTA it just doesn’t make any sense. Gaming shouldn’t have gaming subscriptions leave that to Netflix.

I dont have game pass nor ps plus because of choice paralysis, the subscription aspect is an additional factor as well. A game library, even if digital (I.e license) just feels more authentic over a subscription service, it’s like I don’t even own the game when obtained through a subscription.

A game library has memories attached to it as well, you'll always find games in the depths of it that you haven't touched in years but may shoot you back to a simpler time in your life if only for a few seconds

I also hate how Sony and Microsoft said that The next generations of PlayStation and Xbox won't include discs and how pretty much Discs will be fazed out , as someone who loves to collect discs and pro preservation I'm kinda saddened

Me too, I mean I play on PC now so I literally can't collect physical cases anymore but that was all the fun when I had my PS4. Building my tower of games was like a trophy lol, going to miss physical game cases

Am 33 year old game collector I have half of the OG Consoles I like to know I have both Physical/Digital games if I forget to order GamePass & PlayStation plus has gotten to expensive for to little titles PlayStation has none of the classics people actually wanted same with Xbox GamePass but cheaper for newer titles to try full game if I decide to buy digital in the future I grew up with Demo Discs were a blast.

I never got to experience demo discs, however I think it's dope you have that OG collection. Playstation plus is super expensive though I agree, $80 DOLLARS A YEAR (in canada). Absolute madness

Strauss zelnick said gta+ keeps growing also i dont expect rockstar to keep new games on that service cause there games sell extremely well anyway unlike ubisoft games we can expect gta+ in gta 6 online im sure it will be there like battlepass for gta 6 ig lol

@@CrackedJust1n I don't mind even if it's pay to win I'll play with frnds and making money is kinda easy also if gta 5 is already pay to win then in sequel they'll try to double dip on that and make even more profits and they can easily get away with it they have huge fan base they don't have to worry about backlash lol. Gta online made ig 12 billion dollars even with so much negativity gta6 will easily make even lot more
