I'm always impressed with the timing of the line delivery. My assumption is that this is not a single take, but you could never tell with the production and the acting, especially the non-verbal cues. Superb.

At the start of this last year I noticed an increase in dogs being walked. I found many of my neighbors decided now was the time to buy. (They also had kids. So the whole family is home now.) So yes, I've watched them grow too. I love Julie's insight.

It’s “accurate” for a subset of people who live in irrational fear of something that poses less risk than the flu or a car accident. Unless you’re 85yo and/or have multiple chronic diseases, get a grip.

@@darleneschneck 550,000 is in accurate even the CDC quietly updated their data months ago proving that number to be 2 or 3x lower than the projected 550,000 and I can only suspect how lower the true mortality rate is due to the fuckery surrounding this entire covid debacle.

They never are. But now the attempt to project success has gone from questionable to kind of funny. The balance used to be like : POST: Romantic cuddle on the beach. REALITY: Totally just went to the beach to look outdoorsy! Time for a bowl of porridge and a nap. Now- POST: couple drinking champagne by the FIRE. REALITY: Photo is a year old. Partner is stuck abroad. Post the photo, then go back to reattaching buttons to your coat while wearing your dinosaur onesie.

It's always fun answering that question when you've recently acquired a debilitating health issue and have to spend most of your time laying down while waiting for the next doctor appointment. Even if you're not depressed about it, mentioning it makes everyone else feel super awkward.

@@toriless Same, there was a kid who I saw once in a while through my window. He'd always be helping his dad water the garden. Each time I saw him he grew like 10 inches. Last time I saw him he already looked like an adult. I haven't seen him in a long time, probably because he went to college or he got a job.

@@craigcutler6919 That actually depends entirely on where you live and your definition of assault. It is true that women are more likely to be assaulted by people we know rather than strangers, so when talking about random street violence, you would be correct in some situations. Most women who are afraid on the street aren't afraid we'll be jumped and robbed though; we are afraid we will be stalked and sexually assaulted, which is far more likely to happen to a woman.

I agree. About 4-5 months into the pandemic-after I had recovered from 6 weeks of yep-definitely-Covid-I discovered that an hour or so of watching videos of current earthquakes and hot spots around the world discussed on a map, alternating with Google Earth, was oddly calming. I decided that was pretty strange until I realized I was not alone in this endeavor to shift the focus of anxiety. It helped that the guy doing the videos (Dutchsinse) was something of a comedian who (oddly) kept getting kicked off KZbin even though he never talked about politics or the virus. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm living at home at the moment, with parents. We started eating at the table because we were sick of slobbing in front of the TV. After a month of this, we're eating in silence. It's haunting. I feel like I'm on some weird retreat

Hehe... I hate people... I haven't willingly left my house for five years now. Before the pandemic, I only left every 58 days, for three hours, round trip, for a med refill appointment... I have always hated having to interact with other people... People suck... Anxiety sucks too... Hope your anxiety stays down and that you don't have to interact with too many people. @@melindadawn5 God, I've never thought to calculate how much I go out pre-pandemic. I think the norm is hitting up Fabricland and/or shopping at the mall maybe 2-3 times in the summer because mama needs A: random makeup and fabric and shit, and B: sunlight. I get hella depressed if I don't do the outside a couple times in summer . Used to go to an anime convention in my hometown, but it sucks now.. (When I could smoke more weed, I would also go out for nature walks to have a joint) I have roommates to deal with and I can't g outside alone without freaking out, so I can't _completely_ avoid the peoples lol

I think it is important to occasionally do a sanity check regarding the idea that the world is getting horrible. Sometimes, it is just that we are learning about the bad stuff, but it was always there. Sometimes, the word is actually getting better and better consistently for decades, and we still feel like it is getting worse, maybe because we focus on the negatives or because “violence is down” doesn’t make for an attractive news title.

I feel off-balance all the time too, but then I see examples of other people doing good and holding each other up, and it reminds me that there's a lot of good in this world, too. It's not always enough to get me back to normal, but it helps me keep going. And videos like this definitely help me to feel better that I'm not alone.

Ironically, it is possible that the greater amounts of fear women typically feel (in comparison to men) regarding walking down streets alone or in the dark informs their actions and accounts for some significant percentage of *why* they are less likely to be assaulted. Of course, that's just a possibility since I haven't looked into any research or studies on it or anything.

I cut mine with a scissor. Parted hair in the middle and cut equally. I feel very proud of the weird cut. Shorter at front.longer at the back.
