Good to have you back and that A17 journey does not get any better we have to tramp that route to get to our boat at Broads Edge

Great to see you back bud. We were on the south broads last week, and wondered whether we’d bump into you at all. Hope you are well, and keep up the great work.

We were on the Broads the other week and I was wondering how you were getting on, glad to hear all is well! Interesting to hear your comments regarding the diesel warm air heating. We froze to death most nights as I was worried about using the eberspacher heating most of the time, or starting the engine to fire it up. Only on the last few nights did my girlfriend just turn it on from 'cold' and it worked fine every time! Maybe I'm too over cautious

The only time these heaters use quite a lot of Amps from batteries is during start up when the glow plug is on. Once running it’s just a 12v fan that blows the air using power, a a small solenoid fuel pump. They have robust safety circuitry to cut the heater out if it detects a fault, and your onboard CO alarm should be the fail safe to any exhaust gas leaks or where the gases are blown back into the boat. Therefore if you’re cold, use it I say.

Good to see you back, you’ll have to get night vision for the night time cruises, have you worked out your flashing lights yet. I reckon there’s a speed camera on the A149
@TheCaptainsBlog3 жыл бұрын
Was a storm off the Dutch coast causing the flashes - atmospheric conditions caused the light to bounce down from the upper atmosphere despite the sky above being clear. There are speed cameras on the A149 but are average speed and infrared - no flash.

Are you still with the same woman I've not seen her for a long time

Yep still with her, 8 years and ticking. She is dislikes the small boat though and is far more committed to running than boating - training for her first Marathon in 2022
