That, and I'd also like to add the gameplay diversity itself isn't fun. So many unusable exotics. For instance, I want to run a team healer build on Titan with Phoenix Cradle, but Sunspot creation is inconsistent, restoration x1 is worst than a healing rift, also, there's no visual difference for myself and teammates to know that a sunspot is specifically a Phoenix Cradle-sunspot. Black Talon is another one. Cool concept, but would be so much more fun if they revisited it so it had some viability in PVE. Maybe if Bungie revisited underperforming and underutilized exotics, then there wouldn't be the issue of everyone using the same 3 builds, and having to nerf things, sometimes simply because it has a high usage rate.

I logged on the other day, stared at my ship in orbit for 5 minutes and realized there was nothing I wanted to do. So I turned it off and started playing PoE again. The new activities all just have reused mechanics, bosses, and locations. The weapons are mostly reskinned or reissued. I’m still also bitter that they got rid of 5 raids, 5 locations, and the original campaign and story missions. Destiny 3 was the only option to move the franchise forward in my opinion and it should’ve started at Beyond Light. They could’ve kept all of the old content in D2 instead of sunsetting everything. Instead, they chose to milk the playerbase dry to make other projects happen. They took our Eververse money that was supposed to go back into the game and started spreading it over those 4 other projects. When you take advantage of your players and then your schemes all are let out in the open during turmoil, you’re going to lose the cash cow that pays the bills.

I really hate to be “that guy”….. bear in mind I olayed a lot of D2 prior to sunsetting more or less deleting my account. but with Warframe when the developers were working on other projects they did an amazing job making sure their fanbase was happy because they never forgot that their entire studio was surviving off of one game. And when they cancelled their hero shooter that was a year into development the player base didn’t notice a thing because the updates kept rolling in. Even now they’re working on another game but the updates to Warframe have been consistent and some (myself included), would say the game is in an amazing spot and their newest update is some of the best content yet. I’ve been out of Destiny for a few years now (and that’s not from a lack of interest), but everything I see makes it feel more and more like Bungee is just trying to squeeze all the juice they can from the game before moving on and not giving a second thought

Guides for raids are a lot different, in my experience, than even dungeons, i can watch a dungeon guide several times to really know what to do and where to go and almost inmediately have a grasp on it, but a raid has 6 players that all can provide a role and it takes just as much to learn that role as it does to learn to coordinate it with another, so having watched a guide helps to have a vague understanding and outline of the raid but having someone really teach you is so much more helpful but nobody is really that patient unless you find a good sherpa

The simplest problem is that this game is NOT appealing to new players When I asked friends a couple months back about playing Destiny again (they haven’t played in years) they immediately say no due to the fact the game has a god awful system for new or old players to jump in and that fact you have to pay for EVERYTHING The game has a mountain of content with no easy to follow directions to enjoy it. No free new light campaign to engage you in the world or story of destiny. Nothing is free. Bungie might hate hearing this but the best way to appeal to a younger generation of gamers is to make content free. They can still over monetize the shit out of cosmetics. But the content needs to be free. It can’t be both. Lastly, I’m tired of waiting a year or more for DLC to get new subclasses, supers, abilities, etc. All F2P shooters have a season system that introduces new abilities/supers to the game like every 3-6 months. Destiny needs desperate needs that
@Yusis-o7dКүн бұрын
Another frustration for people is that the recent Dawning started as completely free due to a bug, with Bungie patching said bug in just a few hours, compared to long-standing issues that have been present for weeks. Player sentiment was already low but Bungie went out of their way to patch their event pricing in record time, prioritising it over actual gameplay issues, and not letting it slide either despite the holiday season. It's stingy and frustrating.

The thing is... I want to play destiny 2 badly... but I can't. All the content I want to play, the nostalgia, the stories, everything. It's gone. What is left for me to play? Destiny doesn't have replay value for casual players. I don't want to play dungeons because of the stupid health bars that bosses have. the mechanics are cool, but the boss health sucks. And then there's just raids... So the only replay value as a casual player, is raids... great... Because each season, I'm just doing the story once. In fact, you CANNOT do it more than once without making a new character. and each season/episode, the story is gone again. Sorry, but I can't handle that. I've opened up old games before that I played into the ground because of their storyline. And I seriously wish I could have done the same with Destiny 2. Before sunset, I had played through the main campaign about 7 times. And that was during the time I was not even serious about destiny. but now... Sorry, I only get sad when I play old content. I dont want to replay old content out of order. Or only play old content half-assed. Destiny is just a game I play once every few months now, just to catch up on the storyline. But really, I don't know whether that stuff grabs me anymore. Not to mention the massive amount of guitar errors I get too. When you're already dragging yourself to play the game. To get errors constantly makes me feel as if I'm not welcome. I'm shocked there's still 19k players still playing.

Bungie will more than likely be absorbed. All the bad news after FS? Got confirmed by bungie in their update blog after being silent for months. No big dlc, only 'into the light' sized content drops (plus seasons). Everything that was being dreaded from inside leaks and rumors, were all confirmed to be true. I think the reason everyone glazed over it was because EVERY content creator just hushed over it, being mote excited that there was at least SOME new content coming next year. Idk how many more "shocking realization" posts we gotta go through before everyone knows D2 is a sinking ship but, we're reaching the limit.

For me its because new game have came out, hell i was so excited to get the new IB gear but i just thought "whats the point of getting loot for a game i dont want to play?" The gameplay is fun but it can only carry the game so far. Games repetitive. Also im just scared to get on with the bugs, i wasnt even able to do the main mission during the start of the season- and yes they are still seasons lol. But nowadays? the TLDR is: I don't feel respected. Seeing Bungie make promise after promise, but only when "player counts are at an all time low" is getting tiring. The elitism and gatekeeping in the competitive part of the community, and the toxic positivity in the casual part is getting tiring. Hopping on to enjoy the new update, only to find out the content is maybe an hour worth of fetch quests, or is completely nonfunctional, is getting tiring. Having to wait a quarter of year to MAYBE get an obnoxious bug fixed is getting tiring. Seeing my favorite parts of the game get ripped out every year - say it with me - is getting tiring.

This epiphany hit me the other day. Raids are the best part of this game and the loot you get from them is supposed to be better than anything else but once you get it you hit that “now what” wall. Why did I get the gun, to bring it into the raid? To do other activities I haven’t had trouble with before I got the gun? Yes new guns and loot are a core aspect of the game but when there’s nothing to use it on, why bother? I saw the chill clip sidearm and had a spark of “I want a roll” but I stopped to think on it. I have plenty of other options for chill clip, on several different weapon types and I usually only really use one or two so why do I need the sidearm? To put it in my vault? It just isn’t worth the effort.

Most of the really good weapons are years old. Even today nothing compares to Yotun or some the other legends. So this is how you kill the game that could have go on forever. They can STUFF the game now.

Destiny 2 was one of my favorite games of all time and as I played the game more and update after update came out, it felt like the game only got worse and worse. Lightfall was really bad and destroyed my confidence in the game, I had some optimism for final shape but it just left me feeling let down. I didnt like the ending of the light and dark saga I felt that the ending was a cheep cop out. Destiny has allways been a hit or miss on its content and towards the end I just felt like it was miss after miss. the best time in recent destiny was 30th anniversary and the witch queen expansion. I was riding the high of thoes two for the longest time thinking to myself that bungie will pull themselves together, I was in denial. Because the game just isn't fun anymore. The community used to be helpful, now it's toxic and bungie caves to much to content creators and its just to damn grindy, a lot of the players have families and jobs and real life stuff going on, cant spend 20 hours playing. It's not really fun anymore to anyone other than that small group of players. I'm sure if they look the majority of players remaining are content creators and their clan. Add that to the fact that people have unrealistic expectations for players, must have 80 clears and all sort of other bs expectations. Most of us were casual and just wanted to play the game for the fun of it.

I think they're using their proposed "integrate MetroidVania/rogue-like elements into the game" claim is probably to alleviate that issue for their target audiences and older fans to respect their time, but at what cost to their time invested and gear earned over the years? We can only speculate as to why D2 is declining, but one fact remains is that it IS declining. With the glitches and bugs that I and my clanmates have been experiencing the last few days especially, it's becoming almost unplayable. We have been loyal and consistent players for years, and Bungie has certainly profited off of our love for this game, but I fear those days are drawing to a close. Destiny has been an amazing game, but sadly, it's dying, and has been so every since certain ideologies (that I will not name, but wish I could without fear of being banned) have been pushed in front of game quality and player satisfaction. It's hard not to feel betrayed by Bungie, and the bitterness is real.

Weapon crafting killed the game for me. Along with constant screw ups, the drip feeding of content, eververse crap, etc etc.
@ReelieBun2 күн бұрын
They really dropped the ball with most stories that aren't hive focused. Content is rough, often times being delivered half baked and broken, which is even worse when we're getting so little of it. One exotic per class per episode is just awful. If your classes exotic is terrible or is from a playstyle you don't enjoy, then it feels like you got nothing at all. We're 10 years in and have so few class abilities and subclasses to show for it that builds all feel repetitive and pretty solved. New events generally shake out to "Here's 1 new weapon, and a bunch of cosmetics to milk you for." And that isn't even getting into the different player bases. No seasonal crafting and other anti-casual changes left most casual players just walking away because the grind just isn't worth it. Doubly so because we're drowning in amazing games at the moment. "Hardcore" players wanted to be able to speed run the story and grind longer for drops, except they burned through every drop of content and are now stuck in a mind numbing grind they dislike. This also strains high end content because of the casual players leaving, there isn't a healthy population for doing raids etc. That's not even touching on the PvP playerbase who will never be happy between the mix of them being underserved and there being so many diametrically opposed desires for what good PvP even is. I love this universe, and I want to love the game. But more and more it feels like a failing restaurant that is just increasing prices to try and stay afloat instead of making systematic changes to their failing systems. We want to be amazed and floored with fun and choices, not barely kept alive by a trickling dialysis machine. We crave consumer friendly decisions, and player friendly reward designs. We crave a game that we can pour hours into and be rewarded for investing our time. I'm just so tired of the glacial pacing of content. Bungie and Destiny 2 really does feel like a place that is being shown on a "Kitchen Nightmares" episode for games and their producers.

An ever increasing number of long time players getting burnt out and feeling more and more apathetic towards the lackluster handling of the game post Final Shape, coupled with the frankly horrendous new player experience making it borderline impossible to make up any loss in player numbers. Like yes, of course that 1 in 216 Dungeon Weapon doesn't seem too bad. For the layperson, that's on a statistical average 18 hours of farming, if you average 5 minute clears (from load in, to loot). For an average gamer, that's not even possible on a weekend. It's probably just about between 1 hour an evening monday-friday, and 6-7 hours Saturday and Sunday. Just for ONE Dungeon weapon (pre Vespers Host) that's a 2/5. Golly gee, I wonder what else I could do with an average of 18 hours of my life. Of course if you play 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, you have no concept of the idea of a grind for a 'working person'/'casual gamer'.

The problem with the "must have experience" aspect is that Bungie has removed every single hero opportunity from endgame content. No longer can one player clutch up and carry an encounter if something goes wrong (revive tokens, light fading, multi-person required mechanics, etc.), all endgame content now requires all fireteam members to do exactly the right thing in exactly the right order, otherwise it is a wipe. That is why people don't want to bother with inexperienced people sometimes. It's just a waste of your time most likely.
