Based on the video with Dr. Attia and Dr. Huberman on HRT, I started it after being in menopause for 3 years. Best decision ever! Energy 🆙 Mood 🆙 Insomnia ⬇️ Brain Fog ⬇️ Hot Flashes ⬇️

I'm 9 years out of menopause. I"m considering starting HRT because I have CONSTANT Fatigue and some depression that meds and therapy aren't helping enough with. Thanks for your comment. gives me hope.

Very interesting. I’m surprised you recomend starting hormones replacement before menstruations stop. I wish this knowledge would be more shared in Europe. Great job, thx

Thank you for the information. Would you mind doing a video about endometriosis or having a guest endometriosis specialist on your podcast to help explain the condition and consequences associated with it (fertility, general health, symptoms). Thanks!

Wish that another total study on menopause and HRT would be done using women at various peri menopause and menopausal stages. Using bioidentical hormones (including testosterone).

As always great information! Can you do a video on perimenoposal testosterone treatment and proper dosing?

This was super informative. I'm curious to know if/ how you'd treat perimenopause symptoms with progesterone. I'm 43 but noticing lots of sleep disturbance and difficulty with weight gain despite fasting and eating a really clean diet and I've wondered if it's connected to perimenopause.

I feel like this is probably a pretty stupid question, but why can’t women receive HRT equal to premenopausal levels.
@angelajilina6361 Жыл бұрын
They should. But no one really cares about women’s health enough to start recommending it.

There was a study a number of years ago, called the Women’s health initiative (WHI), which studied female HRT, and the headlines that emerged scared many doctors away from the concept. The study was flawed, but the conclusions are still debated. Peter discusses it with Andrew huberman in their podcast, in peters podcast episode 253 and in Andrews podcast with Sara gottfried. Among others

I take testosterone and I’m in my thirties. So your answer is yes, we can do HRT at any time our hormone levels are off. If I wasn’t on T, I would be about 15 lbs heavier than I am not and it’s NOT a pretty look on my 5 foot frame.

@@msbond86How much do you take? My doctor prescribed me a gel to rub on my skin once a week, but I am scared of side effects. My testosterone is below range, so I know I need it though.

I do. I couldn’t imagine life before HRT. The testosterone makes the biggest difference of all. I went from feeling old and tired, opting out of the competitive sport I’ve been competing in since I was a teenager, to feeling young again. I’m competing again as well as running a busy hobby farm including horses, dairy goats chickens gardens etc… Thank god for my doctor!

Dr Attia- I’m so thankful that you are discussing these women’s issues. It means a lot! I found progesterone cream to be a miracle when I was in my 40s and going through perimenopause. Now I am 55 and three months away from going a year without a period and I’m talking with my doctor about hormone replacement therapy. He is prescribing a 100mg progesterone pill nightly, and an estrogen patch, and testosterone, but the pharmacy gave “Dotti” for the estrogen patch instead of Vivelle Dot. I was wondering if you would kindly speak into this? Do you think it’s satisfactory or should I avoid Dotti? I saw online that it didn’t get the best reviews. Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond.

High doses of magnesium help (up to 800 mg). You just need to find a form you can tolerate well (I take a supplement with all kinds of magnesium forms in it).

I’m 63 and never did HRT because I was scared off by the breast cancer issue. Now I have osteopenia and want to start HRT. I have a uterus. Is it too late? Menopause at 52

You might talk to an obgyn treat menopausal women with HRT. There is a 5-10 years postmenopausal window to reap the benefits. You be able to start HRT in slower increment.

Hello Dr. Attia, When should women (not perimenopausal or menopausal) do a blood test to most accurately measure FSH? Im 27. Does it matter when I get my blood drawn as long as I know where I'm at in my cycle? Thank you!

you should benchmark your hormons in your 20s, 30, so you can have a clear pic once you are in your 40s and 50s

Can exercise in the last phase of the cycle (d21-period) impact how fast the progesterone levels drop? In other words, can period start earlier than on the 28th day if a woman exercises vigorously in the last phase of her cycle?
