My tips. Cotton undies, 100%. V odor probably isn't V odor. It could be your backside. Use FRAGRANCE FREE, PH balanced wash. Squat down to clean the area so its open, don't wash the pink part! Rinse with cool/warm water, really clean the umm back door exit.. After showering really dry the area, don't rub it aggressively and stretch the skin! Use a fan. Enjoy a few minutes to cool off and dry the area. It prevents itchiness and stickiness too. The area never needs perfume, steaming, alcohol, douching. No yoga pants (my gyno was like "finally someone who doesn't wear yoga pants!" they can promote yeast infections due to synthetic material and low breathability. Always clean behind the ears. use tongue scraper and drink chlorophyll water. Wax/sugar underarms. Kopari AHA scrub. I've never had issues.:)

A laundry tip my mother gave me: if you notice your clean shirts or knits smelling sweaty very quickly after a wash, bacteria may be trapped in the fabric armpit parts. Soaking them for a night in a mix of water and white vinegar, particularly focusing on soaking the armpit area of the garment, before the next wash, really helps!!! This can often happen with our favorite garments that we love wearing regularly, but it's simply a case of giving them a soak before their next wash (:

One piece of advice I learned recently is you are supposed to floss before you brush your teeth. My dentist told me to floss before brushing mainly before you go to bed at night. You can brush your teeth in the morning and be fine but at night you need to floss first. This helps with not only getting food from between your teeth but also removing interdental plaque which can lead to gum disease especially if you have close together teeth
@TheFeminineUniverse2 жыл бұрын
This is so true, have heard it from the dentist as well. Thank you for sharing and specifying the order!! 💕

Growing up without a mom, my dad did all he could to show me how to take care of myself. However, women need different steps in their hygiene routine than men might have. I appreciate all he did. As a 28, year old women with depression, I'm thankful for this video. She doesn't shame you for having your rough times. Just gives a gentle guide on how to actually take care of yourself and feel your best. I appreciate you and hope anyone else watching this gets what they need from it.

Yes as a young women, I appreciate ladies who take time to give advice and create these type of educational videos. My mom is Mexican. In a lot of Mexican families mothers where raised by cold mothers who weren’t thought much about hygiene. My mom was the same cold and only explained a couple stuff like periods. But there wasn’t any further education. So I REALLY do appreciate videos like these and ladies who take their time to do this.

Absolutely love that you made this video for the girlies who need it!!My tips to add: You really should try to avoid aluminum deodorant! It builds up on your lymph nodes and becomes toxic for your body. If you smell, you need to detox. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water per day and make sure you find a way to sweat 3-5 times a weak. Chlorophyll is a good idea too. Wash your armpits multiple times a day if needed. Keep in mind what you eat, drink, and ingest such as medicine or supplements affects how you smell, so keeping a clean diet is important too. I personally don’t use deodorant at all anymore but use tea tree oil instead and I sit in the sauna 3-5x a week.

These are some hygiene tips I haven’t always known that have made a big difference now that I know them! - Put on deodorant at night It gets into your pores better when you’re not sweating -Use benzoyl peroxide on armpits in the shower for a few min - it kills the bacteria that causes BO -Leave face washes and shampoo with an active ingredient ( think acne wash, dandruff shampoo) on for at least 2 min

I can’t say how less alone I felt when you said that hygiene can be the first thing to go during depressive episodes. Good to know I’m not the only one. I bought myself a detailed planner specifically for self-care this year to help me keep track of what I’m doing and how I’m taking care of myself. Another tip I would add is that, if you’re sexually active, it’s always a good idea to pee immediately afterwards even if you think you don’t need to, because this flushes out bacteria and prevents UTIs.

Don’t feel super bad about it, make things easier for yourself, like if you struggle getting out of bed, keep a pack of makeup wipes/small trash can/water bottles near by. If you wear contacts, keep a spare contact case by the bed side/contact liquid. Good tip also on the peeing after sex thing!

Anti bacterial clothing spray can be used in-between washes of tops, jumpers, blouses etc. Just spray on the pit areas and leave to dry inside out. That will help preserve the integrity of the fabric and stretch out washes. I also recommend hand washing spot areas like the neck, underarms etc.

My favourite thing about this video (other than you mentioning depression as just an open topic) is how much respect you have for the body:) You talk about and acknowledge why we have certain traits in a non judgemental way:) like body hair, instead of shaming. I appreciate the neutral approach because as a lady with pretty intense eczema, my skin can’t handle daily hair removal and it makes me sad when people treat a little hair on women like it’s gross:( I sugar wax, which has been such a god send! But I have to wait until the hairs are long enough for the wax to be able to grab again:) I also appreciate that you don’t push products for every solution:) most feminine hygiene channels have VERY soapy, drying, alcohol based products with heavy scent to mask female smells. But those products can cause skin reactions, PH issues… it’s best not to overdo it because it can be hard on the body too! Our natural body isn’t gross:) it just does it’s best when it’s clean. And I appreciated you mentioning that hygiene was for OUR comfort too:) our body isn’t just a product for others to enjoy ❤ it’s a temple that we live in and taking care of it is part of taking care of ourselves.

Thank you so so so much! I grew up without any of this knowledge whatsoever. My mom never taught me, nor did she model it for me. I've learned many things on my own, but it's been a struggle as I've dealt with mental health issues and being a single parent of three children. It's so common for women to put themselves last, but self care and regular hygiene like this has helped me to start feeling so much better about myself. I appreciate that your video is so inclusive, understanding, and not condescending. This is wonderful information presented in a clear way. Thank you for laying it all out from head to toe so that I have a template to work from and so I can also model for my daughter what good hygiene looks like and teach her why it's important. ❤️

I love love love your tips! These are fantastic! You went into depth with these sensitive topics and I love it! Hygiene is a lost art for far too many people. Parents have dropped the ball on teaching their kids how to properly bathe and present themselves to the rest of society. I find that too many people have resigned themselves to the ill-conceived notion of "take me as I am" and believe that how they present themselves to the world doesn't matter. It does, it really does. I also think part of personal hygiene is taking care of your environment. I don't allow shoes to be worn around my home. I keep my home very clean. That habit of cleanliness permeates your whole life. If you look, smell and feel good, so should your home. My hygiene tips are using separate cloths to wash body and face as well as using separate drying towels.
@TheFeminineUniverse2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Cleanliness and presentation matter so much! So many parents go from bathing their children as babies and toddlers to "go do it yourself" without any coaching or transitional help. I think there's definitely a blind spot there. I'm glad that content like this is available as addition on the internet to help anyone that needs it. Thanks for your input, love!

This was excellent. Coming from a family where my mother never shared this information at all, I had to learn myself. I listened/observed others and sometimes cringe, when I look back on some of the things I did improperly. You have shared the information so well and the mid-day refresh is such a lovely thing to do. I especially learned to carry these items if there was an after work event. I actually learned this, quite by accident, from my beloved supervisor, who would take us aside and share her advice. I work in healthcare and she and two other senior staff once had a meeting to 'council' the younger ladies about proper undergarments (pantylines under uniforms, nude vs white/black undergarments etc). It was much needed. We all walked away rather speechless. This was an wonderful refresher.

One thing to add to the Body Care section about completely drying certain areas, remember to completely dry your bellybutton. It often gets forgotten but if you don't completely dry it, it can start to smell and have gunk inside it.

Ladies I highly recommend antibacterial soaps for your body. odor is often cause by bacteria. yes you can get Lume, but you can also just buy dial antibacterial bar soap from walmart, works just as well. i use that in the shower first, then wash a second time with my scented body washes.

Thanks for sharing this! I like to do something similar.

Would you mind a video suggestion? I ask this because the way you handle informative content is awesome and always feels very caring. Would you mind doing another video on perhaps body image or finding the confidence to accept body one's body type? ❤

I'm always open to suggestions, Kiwany! Love hearing what you ladies have on your minds. I do my best to be caring and respectful in the way that I speak about things. Body image is so important - I will look into making it a video or part of one!

This is a good video. The only thing I will add that a lot of women and girls forget is cleaning the ears and cleaning behind the ears. Also keep your earrings clean because there can be a lot of build up such as hair products, dirt and sweat so ladies clean the ears and earrings often.
@TheFeminineUniverse2 жыл бұрын
So true! This why I love the comments - you ladies add in whatever slips my mind! In the ears, behind the ears and the earrings are all such important spots to keep clean!

I remind my daughters of this all the time! How would you recommend cleaning earrings?

I used to have terrible dandruff and psoriasis of the scalp, as well as bad acne. I tried every product out there. Saw a dermatologist and was prescribed medications that never worked. Finally, I decided to try using baking soda for wash and vinegar to condition and I left my face completely alone besides doing one hot rinse and one cold rinse. Everything cleared up and I slowly reincoperated products. I found out I am allergic to fragrances as well as many other ingredients used in soaps and washes. If you have issues like this, sometimes less is more. Find the products with the fewest ingredients or even find recipes to make your own and find out what works.

I have dark sports on my cheeks I guess I did not take good care of my face growing up and in my 40' s now I still have dark sports and large pores on my cheeks. I really respect that you include detoxing and probiotics - talking about body bacteria because that's what women traditionally knew and no one talks about. It's not just slathering on some perfumed product and think that will fix things, you have to clean yourself and care for this body as a whole, there is a lot of things that go into smelling and feeling great. When I started eating better I stopped having bad breathe and my periods were way easier, but it took a few months of good habits.

Wet wipes are amazing for our ladyparts when using the restroom. There's ones with PH balance and organic /natural or plant-based ingredients. There's also Boric acid capsules that are amazing for PH balance down there to keep you fresh. Plant-based Pantyliners and sanitary pads during your cycle are 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🔥🔥🔥💎💎💎. You dont gotta wear underwear all the time. I dont unless im wearing a short dress or on my cycle. Herbs and fruit taken with water, is amazing for the V. Veggies like alkaline are superb e.g cucumbers, kale, celery, radishes, lettuce 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🔥🔥🔥 ginger be gingerin' too😊😊😊. Thankyou for this 👑👑👑💎💎💎🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯☺️😊🥰
