A mother, Deb Scroggins, shares her story of losing her 21-year-old daughter Allison to fentanyl poisoning. To use this documentary at high schools or in other educational applications, contact Texas Pictures through our website at www.texas-pictures.com.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

I guess they're trying to get more people addicted to fent. My mother always said ( because I smoke pot) that they could put fent into pot, I said yes they could but if they really wanted to be evil they could fill up a syringe & go into a grocery store & inject it into anything. Pretty evil world out there.

My only daughter committed suicide when she was 15. I know she had so much mental pain from anorexia and a personality disorder, so I understand her choice, but her death was a tremendous loss for me. It is something you survive, but from which you never really recover. You don't know how important you are to your family and friends. I admire your decision to think about the others in your life and wish you continued success. The good works you are destined to do can only be done by you and no one else.

My youngest son was only 12 when his brother was murdered. I was gone! I had no brains, no feelings for anyone around me, I was just numb. I shut down completely. He asked me soon after the funeral, “Is it better to die or to live?” I just stared at him. From that day I decided it was not his fault and he deserved a life. I began to feel and cry so much that he felt like he didn’t matter and could not make me happy like I used to be. He is now 35 years old,married,2 kids and drinks way to much, and has had some anger issues as well as anxiety and suicidal thoughts. I have tried and tried to get this through to his wife that these are all warning signs and he needs professional help. She just believes it is my imagination or my want for drama. I know his issues are residual from the trauma of his brother, best friend and only sibling dying. So everyone beware of the children left behind to cope. They hide so much and try to help their parents more than themselves. May all of these children rest in peace! Parents and siblings be strong and hold each other tight. Love to all.

Naloxone is the active ingredient in Narcan and is also available in many generics as a nasal spray. In fact, the brand name Kloxxado delivers a higher dose of naloxone than Narcan (Kloxxado-8mg per dose, Narcan-4mg per dose). Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available in the brand name Narcan or generic versions available for free. It is important to recognize that Naloxone is the drug, Narcan is just a brand name. Whenever someone uses the word "Narcan" in place of "naloxone", they're devaluing all the other equally effective brand options and promoting a specific pharmaceutical company.

@@TexasPicturesI have just finished my training in Naloxone as I work for an organisation that helps young people who are affected by drugs and alcohol. I now have a supply, I have the nasal spray and the injection. Sounds like the injection is good at bringing them around slowly, I believe that everyone should be able to carry it as it can save someone’s life, this video broke my heart. I’m in Scotland, we don’t have any problems with Fentanyl but there is a drug that has been found in the last few weeks that is stronger than Fentanyl, which is really scary, I can’t remember it off the top of my head, but it only takes a tiny bit of it to cause an overdose.

I’m the grandmother of 8. My eldest grandchild is 22. I cannot fathom getting a pill from anyone without knowing absolutely it was from the pharmacy. This laxness in today’s youth blows my mind. I sincerely hope young people become less trusting and more vigilant about their health safety.

What about the Dr’s that start patients on this drug & then cut them off & they can’t be left with the pain - how about the pharmaceutical companies that make $$$$ off peoples ruined lives! Also had a friend who’s life was lost to overdose to Oxy for severe back pain. Husband turned his back on her - he criticized the one son who stuck by Mom no matter what & I just feel for that 14 yr old boy who lost his Mom & his Dad’s love to this lethal drug. She loved her sons so much - but needing that drug she ended up homeless just living from pill to pill. R.I.P.

education about drugs is being given to young people in schools. the problem is, they never think it will happen to them. they don't have the maturity or common sense to realize that it absolutely can happen to them. We have the same problem with Drinking and driving, and using all kinds of drugs. There really isn't an answer unless we have a major cultural change and too many people don't want to get sober.

That’s not always true. I use to be addicted to those pills and most people kno it’s fent. Once ur body get immune to it you will eventually start getting withdrawals which is 100 times worst than the flu. I use to snort 1/4 of a pill. Then It eventually stopped getting me high cuz of my tolerance. I started snorting 16 pills a day. Not at once but threw out the day. Then I eventually started doing fent powder. Only reason why people dying is because they taking to much at a time without having a tolerance built up. Sensational tactics (bloody crime scenes, dead bodies, violence from security or bodyword cameras) don't work. Statistics also don't work. @@kristymay9435 overdose is meaning to administer or take medicine in too large a dose. It implies that a drug user knows what the dose is, and chooses to take too much. Poisoning is being unaware of what is being given in a particular drug.

Yes, ma’am, it’s so easy to judge her for how stupid it was to buy drugs on the street. But, like you, I did countless stupid things, made epically horrible decisions when I was a young person that could’ve been disastrous, but I got to live. One of the loveliest families I know have a son who overdosed many times, doing well now, but, has battled. It can happen to any family. I’m so sorry you lost your beautiful daughter. God Bless you and your family and I pray your message reaches someone who will heed it. 🙏🏻

Dear mom, I’m so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter, Allison. You’re right. It doesn’t make sense. It’s totally senseless. I learned about fentanyl poisoning (not overdose!) when Dr Laura Berman’s son, Sammy, died, and I couldn’t wrap my head around it. I’m so sorry for your loss. I would love to hear your son speak.

These stories have been so informative for me. I’m a hair stylist with a young clientele and I’m making a point to have the pill/fentanyl discussion with them because I’m an adult that’s not a family member that wants to encourage them to make safe choices, so they tend to listen. I just want you to know your videos are helping save kids in NY ❤

Totally correct. To put the blame on an individual pill pusher, even though that person causes someone's death, will not solve the problem. The laws in the US and most European countries are far too lenient and as such do not deter the importers of these lethal drugs. Fentanyl is now responsible for nearly 250 deaths in the US every day, and this number will only increase if your government remains unable to even consider making a death sentence mandatory for anyone involved in importing these drugs

Thank you for your kind words, let me just say, I’m sorry for your loss. You are absolutely right, “unless it comes from your pharmacist, don’t take it.” It saddens me that so many people out there have fallen prey to those deadly drugs. All it took was one pill! If only people would listen to their parents instead of their friends. My heart goes out to you and the families of those affected by this evil.

We were very close and he had a heart for God and family. He left two young children that will grow up without their daddy 😭 I know it will effect their lives just has it has effected me and his brothers. However, when Allison’s mom said she hoped that one day Zack would come and speak to you guys I lost it. To know that this mom thought so much of this channel that she thought her son doing a video would help with his healing truly shows how important the work you are doing is to the families of fentanyl poisoning. Ma’am, I’m so hurt because I know your pain. I had a sister that died in 1995 when she was 25 from a car accident. Then, my other sister died from a zanax overdose in 2011. Then my little brother died in 2016 from heroin. All I know is just scream & cry as much and as often as you want. Time probably will help but just lean on really close loved ones and the Lord. And also, my husband in 2001 on our anniversary. ❤ I still have dreams of all of them and my dreams seem so real.

People seem to forget about the siblings' feelings. We lost my ex brother in law to an Oxy overdose March 9, 2002. He was 25 years old. That was the day we all "grew up." David's death really effected his brother Eric (my ex husband) as him & Dave were 2 years apart (and looked JUST alike). So I really feel for this lady's son 😥😥😥
