I've driven both cars too and tracked the Scud at Road America. The Scud has a more raw feel to it versus the 458, even though the 468 has more power and another gear. Tracking & visceral feel- the Scuderia all the way; if you don't want to have the loud shrieking of the exhaust note and a bit more in creature comfort- you'd go the route of the 458.

Great review. I don't doubt that this is really the ultimate V8 street Ferrari at this time, and that the rising market values speak for them selves, but you cant help but feel the closing statement was a little contrived. Perhaps throwing in the investment angle was a precondition to DL loaning the Scud to Autocar?

Any car with the magical hand and mind of the Legendary Michael Schumacher MUST be great, and this car does not disappoint. I owned a 360 CS, but the road comfort, (or lack thereof,) and brakes left me wanting a better, more focused car. The 430 Scuderia is a VERY good car, thanks to the Maranello Magicians. I smile just knowing I am going for a spin round town in mine. Great video! Cheers!

Much like the RS Porsches, it's a track weapon. Have driven one, but you can't really daily drive it or take it on long road trips. If you live near Silverstone, then get one. Now. It's now April 2020 in the middle of Covid19 and these are now going for £160k or more.

Rumours have it that one manual 360CS was made by Ferrari for a special consumer and that another person bought a 360CS and made a manual gearbox conversion. Ferrari refuses to sell the manual gearbox parts but if you own a 360 manual you can get it from them, if you aren't you will need to find one in the market (which is tough and expensive)

I actually know a guy who has a 458 and a scuderia and said these things literally. He prefers the scuderia over the 458. Then he sold the 458 and got the 458 spider and now they aren't comparable anymore. Oh well.

Oh really i think your fanboyism blinded you to the fact that Ferrari has sorted each one of their mid engined chassis to keep them 2WD no matter the power poutput,while Lamborghini had to add AWD because of the weight/inertia of the V12 in the middle. Facts are facts.

That's not right. A lot of parts are shared with the standard 430 so running costs are reasonable - for the amount of performance you get you could even say cheap. The only way it would look enormously expensive was if you were comparing it to the cost of running a Camry or some other sh1tbox.

Sorry but it's hard to take a 4x4 as a serious sports car. I know they are potent but 4x4? have you heared about any sports car, in any group from F1 and down, that has 4x4? You normally think about Jeeps or Audi. Audi must have 4x4 because they have the engine over the front axle and are hopelessly over steering with 2 wheel drive.
