Alright lets talk about this title ha ha - so, i'm yet to have created a video title that has turned out to be 'click bait' so I didn't expect this one to turn out to be any different! However, it seems a lot of people are deeply affected by this title (what a world we live in) so would you like me to put "How" at the beginning of the title so we can all sleep at night? It was not intended to be misleading, hope you found the story interesting nonetheless!?

haha change it James, sometimes people get this kind of things too personal and they get angry, for me it was funny but its better to add the how =)

You make less videos but in the end they are much more entertaining and we can feel the true passion for cars. Most of all, the people you meet or who appear in your vids are really interesting and that is a great added value.

Wow you were so lucky James; when I crashed my 456GT it cost me my left leg! Ferrari's are sublime but they ain't built for crashing. So true what you said about the way a bad accident completely resets your driving style and your description of walking the scene made my spine tingle as I did the same thing when I was finally able to. Thanks for posting this, hopefully it will act as a cautionary tale for someone and prevent their own accident.

Sad - but the main thing is that your friend and yourself walked away unscathed (aside from your friends knuckle) and in the grand scheme of things that's all that matters bud - on top of that you learnt from your experience and moved onto bigger and better things - that you're still mindful of what happened to you is a positive bud - and look how far you've come since!

Don't understand how people are perceiving the title/thumbnail as "clickbait", the title perfectly describes the contents of the video, while the thumbnail gives a good visual to the audience - along with the other visuals indicated by the thumbnail in the actual video. Great story James, thanks for being real enough to share this story haha!

I just did something very similar last summer! Same thing, I was too comfortable with a road very close to home, ended up going to fast on this double right and went off nailed an embankment and knocked 2 big trees. Scrubbed alot of speed so from 140km-80km ish. I was in my track r32 skyline so we had no airbags, the sparco seats and harnesses did a fabulous job at keeping us in. It kinked the passenger side floor up and crushed the lf corner in really bad. Same thing several months of depression and regret, even the reviewing the crash. I was more or less worried about my co drivers safety than the car. You become wiser and more cautious for sure. I am glad you guys were fine aswell!

Hey James, I wrote off my EP3 Civic Type R at around 100 mph a few years ago when I was 20. I rolled it about 6-7 times, broke my collar bone in the process, and completely destroyed the car. My friend was also in the car like yours. Watching this was really comforting, as everything you both said aligned with how I felt at the time and since. It's a devastating experience to go through losing your pride and joy like that, but you're both bang on in saying that it completely changes your way of thinking as a driver. I actually won't let somebody drive my car now unless they've had a crash. It sounds ridiculous actually, to say you can only drive if you've had a crash, but I just don't trust anybody driving a performance car unless they know how dangerous they actually are. On a related note, you had a Cayman S? I'm looking at the 981 Cayman S or GTS as my next car later this year. How good is it and how does it compare to your supercars?
@thejimzo18 жыл бұрын
I crashed my mums car, 1.2 corsa first car I was insured on at 18. Went too fast around a corner understeered a lot lost control hit a load of mud slid and hit a rock rolled the car and landed on the other side of the road. It was a road that I drive everyday and was about 2 miles from home. But like you said it totally changed how I drive and now when I go round that corner I drive it at 30 not 60 lol. I kept going over it in my head and learnt a lot from it.

@MrJww I totally feel you. I had a similar incident in my M5 back in the day. Also with a friend in the car. And coming from Go Kart racing, I was very unhappy about what had happened and went back to the accident site several times to really figure out what went wrong. Turned out that there have been many accidents at the same location, because of some missing reflecting signs that indicate a strong turn is just ahead. Of course I blame myself for going too fast, but thanks to my own investigation I was able to find all the contributing factors which caused me and my friend to fall 270 feet off a cliff. Luckily we got out without any injuries and it also made me a better, even more alert and aware driver.

Thankfully this wasn't my time either and I walked away with cuts and bruising. That collision taught me a great lesson which I carry with me always..... I liked this video a lot, i'm 17 and i drive an Audi A5, did the same thing about two weeks ago with my best friend in the car, i was late looking at nav and went for a turn i shouldnt have when going that fast. I liked the way you talked about it as a learning experience because i felt the same way constantly rerunning it in my head. Thanks for posting this it made me think a lot about how i can take this as a positive and change to be better off now. This also just made me think about seeing my actions for what they are , it wasnt just the classic audi understeer it wasnt that my brakes werent good enough i fucked up and i know that, but next time it will be different because i'll be different. Great video, really helped me think my fuck up through :)

Sad story, but like it was mentioned in the video, as long as no one's seriously hurt, it's a very educational experience. I totally understand everything you said about reading the road differently, or more attentively, since I crashed my 2ZZ swapped Toyota MR-2 Spyder in March of 2014. It'll mess with your head. I was in a pretty deep depression after that. Of course, at that time, I was already pretty well depressed which made me care less about my safety and how I was driving. I've got my head in a better place now. I'm glad you've learned from your experience so you can treat the Porsche, the Ferrari, and the new Audi right! As a side note, that yellow Scuderia is marvelous.

Damn... This really does put things into perspective. Funny you uploaded this today actually, as just yesterday someone crashed into my car. I was on a roundabout in the correct lane to go straight on, and a car was in the lane to the right of me. The other car then indicated and steered into my car whilst I was travelling at around 5mph. The side rear (behind the driver door side) is all scratched and dented, and the worst part about it is the other driver is not admitting fault! I cry every time. But in fact, the point I was trying to make is even though it sucks that my car was crashed into, it could've been worse as no one was injured. Love the vids btw :)

Accidents happen! I've only just obtained my learners driver license back in April and at some points, it has been quite intimidating to actually get behind the wheel and finally drive especially learning biting points on clutches, hill starts, etc. I definitely agree with the point you two made where learner drivers should experience loss of control in a car in a safe space. It's quite interesting how much you can actually learn from a situation like that which is something a lot of young drivers sometimes don't experience until it's too late. Also, that F430 sounded absolutely brilliant! With the new turbos being introduced to the latest Ferraris, I don't think we'll see many more N/A engines being produced. That can also be said for most manufacturers which is a real shame. Oh well, with power comes sacrifice haha! Excellent video James!

I've been in a crash once, on a motorcycle. Took a corner, under the speed limit, but it was wet and slippery. Backwheel lost grip, bike spun out and ended up under the road barrier. Totaled. I was extremely lucky that I didn't end up on the other side of the bike, as I'd gotten my head smashed (well, helmet, but still). Half a year later when I bought another bike I took it up to a go-kart-track when it was pissing down, and that really helped me ride with confidence again. I've never had an accident with a car, but I really want to go a racetrack and just test the limits.

It was mysteriously easy. I've always heard people talking about struggling to ride again, but I never had that problem. I started riding again about 7 months later when the season started again (Norway...), which way longer than you should wait if you'll ever want to ride again :P

I was once driving my dad's 2.2 cdti 2012 civic. Ok, not the same league but it's still a 150hp car, and Honda seem to use some quick horses, plus it was new, less than 10k kms on it. Went into a corner at 160kmh, for no other reason than it's so quiet and so much faster than my usual diesel family box that I lost track of speed. The car start losing traction, it didnt seem to be too alighed either, I was in a tunel, everything was going pear shaped. It's a bit of an anticlimax but I held it, breaked ever so lightly in short bursts and dropped it down to a pace where it barely held traction through the corner. Luckily nobody was coming the other way as I was in them middle of the road. It still left some mighty skidmarks, but mostly in my underware. Point of this story is it dosen't take a ferrari to catch you out. Drive carefully folks. Respect to JWW for showing that you're human and also have failures behind you. Takes a big man not to propagate the myth of ones supposed superiority. Kudos. And the smart people among us will learn from the mystakes of others, thus making the world a better place :p

+Zepherian Sounds like you had a close encounter there buddy! Thanks for the feedback - I think good things can come out of bad circumstances and hopefully this will make others aware that things do go wrong!

are you taking lessons from supercars of london? this clickbait title seems like the exact thing he would do
@rbeaton168 жыл бұрын
The video is about him crashing his Scuderia, there's nothing "clickbait" about the title.
@LamboPlays8 жыл бұрын
it's clickbait that's true, what's the problem?
@SZ-ZS-8 жыл бұрын
+rbeaton16 he changed the title. it was clickbait, it used to be 'i crashed my ferrari' not how I crashed

Accidents caused by are own cockiness teach us the best lessons. As long as nobody gets hurt it's the best... and most expensive way to learn.

I did something very similar with my first Ferrari, an ex Eric Clapton 360 Spider. You are so right about how it changes / improves the way you drive from then on, but also how for months after you struggle to come to terms with it. Also, quick question, why does it look like the handbrake is on for the whole drive? Nice to meet you at Diamond 9 recently, all the best.

I walked my accident scene too - very useful! I managed to plow my Corsa into the back of a 2016 5 series BMW... Driving too close! I'll never do that again!

I love the scderia.Its my favorite Ferrari as it does look quite striking when compared to 430.I don't know if it's just me but I think 458 looked way better than specialla or 488.

BTW the title made me think..430? Did he downgrade? (cause right now all the cars you have are both newer and better).

I can really relate to this video. Had some rather interesting moments, that made me change my methods of driving. Spinning my R33 at over 100kph on a country road here in Australia, is one that pops out mostly. Also sharing what ever cool car's I get with my friends, athough they are not really into them. I like to think they get a kick out of it.
