I’m in England. We always find Winter depreciation of prices on all supercars. But as soon as it’s sunny days again the prices bounce back. Manual cars continue to climb in value.

@@bikefax8177 I own a 812 GTS with 5,000+ miles, a GTC4Lusso with 31,000 miles, and a Portofino with 16,000 miles. The last two get driven all winter here in NW Ohio with Sottozero tires on them. Ferrari's should not be permanently parked!

I seen an F8-tributo (coupe) with 5,500-miles on it listed at $325,000! they are getting close to my range of affordability, not sure if they’ll hit $250K in around a year (I’m expecting a higher mileage one at around 10-15K-miles will hit that number around that time?)

I have been waiting almost a year and a half for the perfect spec and even though I had somewhat given up on my search due to the limited US inventory; I had one pop up on my radar and I didn't even blink once. It would be nice to see the Ferrari list price compared with the used prices. (I know there is a big difference depending on the spec… but maybe some general approach of getting to a variation or an average price). I would have thought that the SF90 price, while down a lot from the (secondary market) peak, it is still above list price ?

Video is outstanding! Although I do have one difference in opinion and that is the 355 GTS/berlinetta 6 speeds have come down significantly from their wild run up. While the lesser models such as spiders and f1’s follow the stability you mention.

@@fourwheeltrader yes, the market on an older model like the 355 is not only small, but in that market there is significant variance between transmission and berlinetta/GTS and spider body styles. This is something that makes it more difficult to make quick infographics on compared to a more modern car such as a 488 or F8 where there is less variance in market price due to there being only 2 body styles and 1 transmission type and also significantly more inventory.

Have noticed Pista prices slowly coming down too. Very hard to find one still below €400k vs. pre-pandemic typically we'd have around a dozen or so on a constant basis. Edit: I'm European for context. US Pista prices have definitely been getting supply, pushing the market back towards equilibrium. Still trading at a $50-100k premium though, relative to what some specs should be going for.

The SF90s were selling at around 950k at the top. I now see them selling at around 650k. That’s a 32% drop in about 1 year. Your rate of drop is way off on this model. This reminds me of when the CPI comes out. The government gives a fictitiously lower number like 5% when it’s actually way higher. Anyhow from what I’m told by many dealers is the brand that holds their value the best is Porsche.

Tbh it all depends on where you are. In duabi the 488, F8 and SF90 have gone up in value relative to the older mid engines that have depreciated more.

If you want to own and enjoy a 488 then it’s always a good time to buy. I’ve always contended that Ferraris shouldn’t be considered investments, because the car market is volite. Can you make money on a car, yea but I think there is a correction coming and prices will settle to about the same value they should have had had that pandemic not occurred. But again this is all speculation. Information that is provided in this video is helpful for estimating the cost of ownership along with maintenance, insurance, tires ect. While the 488 is outside of my (my wife’s) pre determined playtoy budget, I’ve rented one several times and enjoyed it, but liked the 458 a little better. I don’t see any reason not to buy one, they are good cars.

The JDM market is the most interesting one in Australia. Very broad appeal even amongst muscle car owners. Start talking Supras, RX7, GTR Skyline, MR2 Turbo, Silvia, 300ZX Turbo etc and you may well generate lots of views....since you asked... Without a major pivot in monetary policy, price will have to mean reverse, which means 458 has to first give back the 30%-ish gain it accumulated from 2019, and then continue down for another 10-15% which should have had happened had Covid/helicopter money hadn't taken place, that looks to me about a 40% drop from the peak, which is not crazy really if we look at the number. The 458 is a ten yrs old car at this point still asking 200K+, a 40% drop means it's going to be at 120-130K average.

Its not entirely because of Helicopter money, its the advent of EVs then people are more interested in NAs again. Think it will still drop, but good condition ones will hold, hard to find good specs for an old car. I know a few ex owners are looking to buy back again.

As more Corvette Z06s are made, the price of Ferrari and other cars most certainly will depreciate as more become available. The C8 series is wiping the floor on sales for both Porsche and the used Ferrari market, which is a closed market and limited new players other than you tubers. U.S dollar reserves are running scarce and all luxury markets of the past 40 years were U.S dollar oversupply driven.

Said it before, I'll say it again: not everything with a combustion engine will go up in value. Besides, the way things are right now... the "EV revolution" might be cancelled. Not just that E-fuels are finally getting traction, there are also more and more experts who doubt that it's even possible to build EVs in those numbers that would be required... providing the infrastructure for them is a huge undertaking and it's not even clear that we have or will ever have all the materials we'd need to build all those batteries. So... ICE cars might be here to stay and everyone who speculated they might go up in value because they're "the last of their kind" and was foolish enough to buy an overpriced car for this reason should re-evaluate their life choices ^^

Agreed… the whole market is being effected after SF90. But I have a feeling Ferrari did this on purpose. With 2nd party sellers looking for literally 100’s of thousands of dollars over MSRP on current models in combination with Ferrari putting holds on sale of new models; it’s no wonder that literally every model being effected. Because at the end of the day if anyone is cross shopping anything with-in the price point of SF90 I feel like they’ll buy that. Look at the Ultimate market compared to how insanely inflated SVJ’s were 2 years ago. In my opinion the final straw will be GT3RS. I have a feeling Porsche will produce loads of them and crash their own market on purpose because they’ll sell all of them. Hopefully everyone regardless of price point will refuse 1st party and 2nd party mark-ups and bring the market back to a more normal equilibrium.

But they won't succeed. I mean, maybe for a while, but not in the long run. If they can keep this up for a few more months the plunge that follows will be insane.
