Thought it was interesting how you pointed out this weights as much as an e39 M5 but has self driving tech, an automatic and so many luxury features. Not to mention 100 more HP. I've driven a supercharged one of these V8 F cars and it's a beast. It's on my short list for sure.

I am on my 2nd GS F ('16 and '19) and despite what the press is saying, I must say this car is a lot more similar to the E60 M5, which I previously owned, than the E39 M5. Other than the number of cylinders, the gearbox, technology, hp figures, size and weight of the E39 M5 really aren't as similar to the GS F as its V10 successor .
@DFWsCars Жыл бұрын
I could see that- I was mostly referring to engine character, both n/a v8s- but you’re right chassis wise it matches the e60 well. Great cars all around!

This car is what Infiniti was suppose to make with the M56S. Lexus got it right. I am torn between this and a F10 M5 to replace my M56S.
@DFWsCars6 жыл бұрын
The F10 is going to be faster but feel a bit more isolated than this, but an exhaust could probably fix that. They're diff cars and at the end of the day drive both and see which one makes you happiest.

Amazing car review mate. Lexus is my favourite car brand. I hope they start taking things more seriously and produce turbocharged beasts to wipe the floor away with the F90 M5 and AMG GTR. Lexus are awesome cars, but it's about time they step their game up and go above and beyond. They have proved to the world that they can make exquisite and fast cars, i.e the legendary LFA and LC500 etc. Can't wait till they show the Germans what they're really capable of once they've been pushed to the limit. Bless :)

Supremely comfortable car, even on long trips or with 3 backseat passengers. Seat heaters and cooling don't work well at all. Amazingly agile (for its size) when throwing it around corners. The throttle responsiveness, even in sport+ has something to be desired. The car is fun as hell but not a snarling, always ready to strike beast like the GTR.
@DFWsCars6 жыл бұрын
phi psk agree with that. Def needs more power for its weight. Weird about the heated/cooled seat- coulda been a fuse.
@phipsk12596 жыл бұрын
Idk if the problem is lack of power or a software glitch. Sometimes it seems to "think" for a sec before delivering the gusto. Folks have hypothesized it's a safety feature.

This could be one of my favorite cars made today. If it had a manual transmission option like a Chevy SS I would buy it. Given the fact that it weighs about the same or less than the hodgepodge RC F, it is my choice over the two. The automatic is quite bad on this. Not even close to a ZF which is a shame with that glorious engine. I really do hope one of the synergies Toyota gets from BMW partnership is how to do a proper infotainment interface
@DFWsCars6 жыл бұрын
I’m excited to see the fruits of the BMW partnership as well! What’s weird on the MMI is that Lexus used to have good systems and even the Toyota’s aren’t as bad (in part because it’s a touch screen). So just do what BMW did, and supplement iDrive with a touch screen.

haha, well it's hard to add too much more but where him and I do differ is power. He loved how it was down on power on wet/snowy roads, but I think it could use more especially in the dry. 600 is about the max a RWD car can put down well.

I don't see the point of this car, it's fast and performance oriented, but unlike the Cadillac CTS V which is made for the track, it's not a track car, it doesn't even have AWD so you wouldn't have this car as your main car in the winter, so what and why would you buy this car? This Lexus doesn't really fit any category because - it's not a sports car, it's not a true sports sedan since it isn't track oriented, it isn't made to drive every day especially for states that have snow, so someone tell me, why buy this car? What does it do for you except that you can say that you're in a Lexus?
@d1sturb3d1196 жыл бұрын
So first off you need to be able to step out of your shoes to see someone else's point of view. You literally claimed the CTSV is made for the track... Really now? What track would that be? What competitive event are you taking your 4 door luxury sedan to race at? What competitive event lets you race a car without a cage, kill switch, fire extinguisher and more? You buy ANY of these cars because it meets your specific use case. Compared to a cadillac, Mercedes, BMW or whatever, Lexus will always give you better reliability at the very least. Not all of us need 600hp on the street. We like fun cars. This is a fun car that does its daily duties well and then can be fun in the canyons or hell autocross or a track day if you feel like taking it out. The car isn't made to drive everyday? Where did you pull that one out from? Like seriously how did you come to that conclusion in your head? There's literally ISF's out there with 300,000 miles on the clock... And you somehow came to the conclusion that the GSF isn't made to be driven every day? What are you on about? You do realize that superchargers much like the one used on the CTSV requires a rebuild right? If you want a race car, BUILD one. People like you always confuse me especially considering you just said this is not a track car and the CTSV apparently is, yet a buyer driving a CTSV wouldn't be worried about driving in the snow but a lexus driver would? What logic is that? I drive my ISF in the snow, rain or dry... So what now? What does this comment do for you except show that you have no conception of anyone elses needs. You've spoken like someone who doesn't actually race cars and hasn't ever had fun behind the wheel of a car... If you drive in general you'd be able to answer all your own questions.
@sang87205 жыл бұрын
Because it's a nice reliable, fun car to drive. It's more of a sport sedan aimed at people who want luxury vehicle. If you really want a luxury track focus car then go for the m3/m4 and ats-v. Lexus isn't aiming for that. You can drive it in the snow. There's something call all season or winter tires.

@TWHISPERER5 жыл бұрын
@@d1sturb3d119 Are you saying that the CTS V isn't a track car?
@d1sturb3d1195 жыл бұрын
@@TWHISPERER Its a car that can do track days. If you actually drive at the track you would know it's no where near close to being a "track car". Do you even know what brake fluid is recommended on the track? Do you know what comes with the car? 3 laps of any 2 minute track will cook the OEM DOT 3 brake fluid alone. That doesn't even begin to address the supercharger and how it overheats, the rear diff that has no cooler and subsequently overheats leading to failed diff bearings. Also did you read a damn thing I wrote or do you have comprehension issues? Tell me again how many events you've won with your CTSV that apparently serves as a daily driver?
