Music venues should be treated as vital national infrastructure, they're the foundation of a key UK industry, they're pivotal in the cultural, mental and creative health of the country. Not to mention the soft power and voice it brings the UK in the global community. To allow them to dissapear is a clear sign of a country that is frankly not taking itself seriously. We don't allow bridges and road infrastructure to collapse because they are not in and of themselves profit making, there's no reason we shouldn't think of music venues (and for that matter, theatres, sports venues etc) in a similar, if not identical way.
