What has me considering buying the Pro is Part 3. If Rebirth had some problems running on PS5 in high quality at 60fps. Part 3 is going to be even more demanding. I may not buy a Pro day 1 but I will definitely be getting one within the next year.

I think I'll probably just wait for the PS6. By the time Part 3 comes out, PS6 shouldn't be too far behind. I worry that if I buy a Pro, it'll just become a really expensive paperweight within the next year.

@@DevilHunter1994 Maybe but I think this generation could go until 2028. Digital Foundry was even speculating that we probably won’t see the PS6 for another 4 years, due to the slow pace of this current generation.

I’m thinking the same thing. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Rebirth (and part 3), i would probably pass. And Devilhunter, don’t forget that GTA VI is coming out next year also. That will keep you busy until part 3 is out. For those 2 games alone, I think it’s worth it. (And you can always sell your current PS5 back to GameStop to offset the cost)

I'm still waiting to see people test them out. Sony claiming 50% faster gpu and cpu processing tells us nothing. It is like when nvidia release a new graphic card and tells you 30% faster graphics. But it was only for the game they choose and the one you play is only 5% better than last gen.

I wouldn't buy an overpriced console + extra disk drive (I have Rebirth physical) because of a 45% boosted performance in Rebirth (the game already plays really well on performance and I don't play with the eyes glued in front of the big screen to see a big difference). Even if Part 3 is only 30 FPS 1440p, it simply isn't worth it. Furthermore, I won't participate in legitimizing a probably $1000 PS6, it's insane.

In Australia, it's been revealed that the three console + disc drive will give us a total of $1,360AUD. I'll probably stupidly make an impulse buy but maybe I'll wait for the price to come down - though for Rebirth, I might wait for a PC port. Think I've got an adequate setup...

Dude it's like 880$ in EU (converted from euro) and 900$+ in UK. Feels kinda scammy move by sony tbh. Also, say goodbye to any hopes for a Remake part 3 60fps experience with actually proper graphics (on base PS5), I assume now they are going to just going to depend on PS5 pro for that and not even make the effort. Hope I'm wrong :(

I'm leaning towards not buying a PS5 Pro, but if they show exactly how Rebirth will be improved I'll consider it while keeping in mind it will be nice to have for part 3. If the Pro massively improves the lighting - especially in the trouble areas, I might be inclined to get one. Just a simple resolution increase in performance mode would not be enough of an improvement for me. I honestly don't mind the blurriness in performance mode, but my entire 1st playthrough on graphics mode did often get to me because of the 30 fps and poor motion clarity.

We are getting POORER. Us dollar is getting weaker=your buying power is caput. 1 tons of copper costs 5000 us dollars in 2019. Today its over 10K usd... For silver gold and else very similar jumps. Ps3 when launched was a luxury item, and people who had it were privileged. Or you had MORE BUYING POWER dping the same JOB/business. That 500-600 usd for ps3 is like 1000 1200 usd today. In terms of buying power(rent, house price, land price, gold price, copper price, sugar tea tomato, meat , eggs etc). Ps5 pro is very cheap for its being a 4070ti. We are very poorer. Lets face it...

1 gram of gold was 53 usd in 2019 Today it is 81 usd. You could buy 10 grams of gold for a ps5 cost for 2019. Now that translates to 810 usd . So ps5 should be 810 usd now as real value. It being 550 usd today meaning it is like 50 percent cheaper ;) As i said. Gold is what it is. Also each console uses at least 200 grams of copper. Which is a lot when you factor in there are millions...
