I was very fortunate to get to be around them and this was like breath of fresh air for m and gives me hope about our future. I miss those days.

I graduated back in 2018, I was frustrated that I never was able to drive my tractor to school cause the district banned it when I was a freshman. It was something I had always looked forward to. Just a sign that my little farming community has turned into a suburb. However I am glad to see that there are still communities that embrace it.

Grew up on a couple of farms one nice with JD 3010,4020,5020 and one a poor dairy farm. I got to drive the 5020 once and thought I was a big shot. Then I became a heavy equipment operator in the Seabees and continued running heavy equipment throughout my career. Even today I would be like a little kid if I got to drive many of those nice tractors, even the classics. In high school I went to BOCES for a 1 year agriculture course. I didn't pursue farming as there wasn't a future in it for me as the farm was my stepfathers farm .

Very cool! It was really nice of those farms to donate tractors for use to those that didn't have one. Kudos to them. That 4960 was the first one I have seen in a long time on YT that was set up with the correct wheels and tires so that it didn't have a rearward slant like most do. That is exactly how they came from the dealer back when they were new. The one I rode around in was just like that, and it was only a year old at the time. That NH T 300 was very sharp. So was that old Magnum 7120. Those Magnums and the 4960 JD are some of the best looking tractors to ever work a field IMO.

That is a neat thing to do. I was in FFA back in the early 70's, and we did the same thing every year. Most tractors were open-station back then, and even though some farm girls drove tractors on the family farm, I don't remember any girls that drove their tractors to school. I drove our "Big Tractor", which was an Oliver 1850 wide front gas tractor. I don't think any farmers in our area, had any tractors over 150 HP. Now, they have several tractors with 600+HP. Maybe we will see a new "Big Bud" tractor in a school parade, if they start making them again. We were a small school, and did not have a parade. Everybody just came into town from all four directions. (North, South, East, West)

@user-hv6wb5gk8p
@user-hv6wb5gk8p Жыл бұрын
@@CloudBlorb I'm a farmer. Vertical farms are overhyped. Once you consider that you need a building, tons of energy and a lot of manpower the costs are simply prohibitive when compared to just growing stuff in dirt and the environmental impacts are pretty massive. The efficiency gains from controlling environmental factors just doesn't offset the issues unless you're living in rich, small, urban, densely populated and food insecure country. That really narrows it down to a few countries. Only exception are high value crops like cannabis where the quality gains allow for sufficient upcharges to offset the costs. Wether or not you personally think that should be legally available is a whole new topic. It's classic greenwashing. A better alternative is high precision agriculture. The machines that are currently in development are insane. You've machines to place granules of fertilizer right under the seeds, sprayers that can identify and target individual pests, drones that can scan your fields for signs of patches with nutrient deficiencies and GPS tracking for precise application. Change in any industry is expensive though so the gradual improvements just aren't as visible as a proposed paradigm shift.

Very cool!! I’m gonna have to spend some time watching your videos. I was led here after a google search. I’m in central California & just wanted to catch up on some farming & tractors. It’s been several yrs, miss it. I was watching videos from this years farm show in Tulare, my hometown. I saw a beast, 4 track Case 600+hp & just wondered what kind of crops require such a massive tractor & the search that sent me here I saw 3 of them plowing up some dry ground easily at speed. Very impressive. As I said it’s been many yrs so the advances are mind-boggling, much to learn. It’s been all around me my entire life, I’m 65 so was at our 1st farm show. It’s kinda grown too, lol. Oddly my actual experience with farm machinery is different than y’all might expect. I’m a retired MICParamedic & tried to explain to my friends in the city how this was a big part of my job. It is very unforgiving equipment if your not careful, to say the least. I’ve lost many friends & “Seen it all”. Fascinating stuff. Gonna enjoy catching up. Y’all keep your head on a swivel, respect the power, things happen very fast!! In fact I wanna add Please learn CPR, it works BUT must begin within 5 minutes b4 brain cells begin dying. You will NOT get an Ambulance in FIVE minutes, not even with me driving, lol. God Bless…

Very cool. The 1086 and the Magnum are my favorites because my Dad owned those in Vermont. I drove a Zetor tractor to high school one time in the Netherlands.

Yessss...!! 😊 I'm gonna be 35 yr old this year and back in 2006 and 2007 for 2 yrs I had the honor and privilege of driving my tractor to school for drive your tractor to school day I'm a proud BIG RED POWER FAN for CASE IH - INTERNATIONAL My personal tractor was a 1941 FARMALL M Tri sickle front end In this video my personal choice would have been the beautiful little 1950s FARMALL CUB... But ALLLLLL of the BIG RED TRACTORS we're my favorite and chosen ones I'm also a BLUE POWER TRACTOR Fan as me and my parents 💙 have a 1720 3 cylinder Diesel 4wd NEW HOLLAND tractor with a nice front end loader on it... But at the End of the day... Like I've always said : IF IT AIN'T RED LEAVE IT IN THE SHED But these days I'm not as brand loyal as I used to be I just took my 2 kids ages 6 and 5 to the National Farm Mechienery Show this year for there first time and we all walked around saw everything we could and I bought us tickets and we watched 👀 the tractor pulls... BIG RED POWER... WOOPED ASS in the light Pro Stock Diesel class and the Alcohol Class and then in the final class the 10,200 lb Super Stock Diesel class John Deere won the day 😊 But I have to highlight my personal favorite tractor that was there In the 10,200 lb Super Stock class It was a SASSY MASSY FERGUSON ROCK N A V8...!! She was a Red Hot 🥵 Sexy 2805 woooooo weeeeee should have heard that lope before she got wound up and them Turbo lite Yeee yee yee live action 🤣😂🤣😂 But there were too many John Deeres that put down a good run and ol Sassy Massy got pushed back from 1st place to 4th place and left and had to go home Which really bummed me out but anyways I'm just tickled I get to show my 2 baby biscuits and share with them everything I know and have seen I was a FFA Member back when I was in school 🙏😎👍✝️🇺🇲st

As a Kentuckian myself, I can confirm tractors on the road are a regular occurrence. Not those huge JD’s, but the others for sure.

When people ask how where is learned to back up a trailer. Me: easy, i grew up driving tractors and backing up trailers/implements was part of the job. This so awesome! Brings back so many good memories.

The tractor day at are local school is always a fun morning. I try to set time aside to watch. Kids have a ton of fun. School ropes off the parking lot for safety and the usually have a water balloon fight as part of the event.

Would love to have that Case IH 7120. We have a 7130, but the 7120 has dual PTO’s (540 and 1000) which comes in handy for various implements.
