If I remember right from the warring triad quests, the triad were the first primal the Allagans bound. It was only after the oringal Bahamut was killed that the dragons were able to summon the primal Bahamut which was then captured.

As to what may have been in the Neuro-link room i think it's very likely that Tiamat may have been what was kept. Given that leading up to the dungeon proper we hear from various nodes that two dragons that had been catpured had escaped and one subsequently recaptured, this being Tiamat.

that's a really great observation, I had forgotten that the nodes had already hinted at that. Who do you think the other dragon might be? Maybe Shinryu? It could be this that links him to Omega - that Omega was used to subjugate Tiamat and Shinryu as well as Bahamut, but Shinryu successfully escapes and has a motive to reappear when Omega is eventually uncovered and reactivated...

Actually a friend brought up an interesting point that Shinryu could be Neurol-linked and trapped below ground guarding Omega Weapon. Since that's something that's typically his job in final fantasy being the boss to face before fighting him. The link might explain how the others are unaware or their kin.

What if what they meant was how he saw the Garlean Empire's pursuit of of the tech. Unakalhi seemed to reach Regulas when he was talking about how no man should have the power of a enslaved primal.

Any idea lore-wise why we couldn't just destroy Nidhogg's eyes or do something else like that with them, instead of throwing them down a pit where a teleporting Ascian should have no trouble getting them? Which might spell trouble if they are still the massive aether batteries that they were said to be.

It looks like the aether is mostly or completely spent from them (they lose their glow and luster after Nidhogg's soul departs) however it is still possible that they contain something... We threw them because Aymeric panicked, presumably over the fact that keeping the eyes in close proximity might cause them to possess the Warrior of Light which is a risk, however small, that no one could afford to take.

also that containment bay has pulsating mounds of flesh with tendrils around it so maybe the thing exploded and is reconstituting itself

Any thoughts on why the clones are specifically named as conjurers and thaumaturges, given that magic as we know it was developed during the Fifth Astral era under the magi civilizations?
