I'm a bit late to the party, but the naming of the gogmagolem reminds me of the gogmagog from 13-2, which seems much more like a real allusion

Pretty sure Gogmagolem is a play off the names the biblical stories of Gog and Magog.

I can definitely see that, good catch. I don't see much reference to the context of Magog, however. I suppose given that Magog was sometimes conflated with the Lydians, there's a vague connection to Gyges and through his namesake to the Hekatonkheires and that the descriptions of Alexander the Great and various other historical figures constructing walls to keep Gog and/or Magog at bay is similar to Ouranos' banishing of the Hekatonkheires to Tartarus? Like I say, pretty tenuous but I think you must be right - the reference is definitely there.

Ethys Asher I think there is another reference of note. I don't know how valid the sources are or whether this has been brought up, but "Gogmagog" - also spelled Goemagot, Gogmagoc, etc. - is the same of a British giant who was thrown from a cliff or mountain in a wrestling match with Corineus, a companion of Brutus of Troy. Gogmagog was believed to be the last giant inhabiting Albion, where this conflict took place. This is coming from Wikipedia, so it may take further research for the idea to hold water, but of note is the fact that "Gogmagog" is believed to possibly be a reference to the same story of Gog and Magog, while at the same time being a corruption of a possible proper name Gawr Madoc, or "Madoc the Great."

I really like this series a lot, very interesting. Also, Gogmagog was a giant in british folklore, I assume that's what Gogmogolem is based off.

Cool whm Ethys! I like how fluidly you switched cleric stance on & off. I recommend a chiropractor to help ease your back pain & the healing process if you can find one; Your pretty lucky you didn't end up paralyzed from the spinal wounds you took. I can hear the distress in your voice & its pretty heartbreaking listening to you like this.() Get well soon.:[
