Thanks for showing. How to assemble 2 pieces of fiberglass together. I have a similar problem with a complete front end of a c2 .I guess fiberglassing both sides reinforce the structure and integrity and stops one side to sag in after time.

Exactly. The strength in the original panel is created when it was press molded. Hand laid fiberglass isn't as strong by nature. So to compensate for that it helps to put a bonding strip behind it or use a fairly wide repair on the backside to bring the strength back to the panel. Let me know if you have any questions with the repair and best of luck!

Hey so I got hit (C6 Corvette) on my driver's side fender, and apparently my frame is also damaged from the impact?? Do you know of a way to fix it?
@MidYearMitch4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about your C6. If you have any pictures send them to my email. Midyearmitch@gmail.com I should be able to give you a better answer that way once I can see the damage.

You used polyester resin ,I know it's a wall hanger ,however polyester has poor bonding to existing glass and can delam over time and crack. The correct repair is to use 1708 stitched matt and west system epoxy making the join stronger then the original panel. You cannot use mat glass with epoxy the binder in the glass will not melt in epoxy only with polyester ,thats why it must be stitched matt no binder Polyester less than 500lbs psi bonding strength ,epoxy 2000psi

Dynamic Corvettes buy the panel and save yourself some time and money
@MidYearMitch4 жыл бұрын
Not sure how that would save me money? This project was free... I had the material and parts... buying new saves time but it doesn’t save money. I also enjoy fixing parts instead of buying new parts. And if I bought new I wouldn’t have this video which helps my channel. So agree to disagree sir.
