I love when Peter Leko thanks Narodisky’s confidence for calculating out Pragg’s endgame line for the win. I feel too often commentators rely on the eval to evaluate which side is winning rather than calculating out a concrete line. Perhaps Leko feels the same

It was dead equal from the start.. Both players exchanged pieces, simplified the position not much complexity there.. Vidit and Pragg's games were much exciting

Alireza was "picked" by Magnus as the greatest future hope, and the only one worth defending the WC title against. That's because Magnus is a liar and he really knew Alireza was someone he could always beat -- very strong but in some sense unstable or positionally not as well grounded. Unlike especially Nepo, who scared him to death in the 2020 WC match causing him to resign the title when Nepo won the Candidates the second time. The accuracy at the top level has gone to insane levels. A day or two ago, there was a game where both players were around 99%. The Ding - Nepo WC match was also of that nature, way above accuracy levels Carlsen has produced. What was good enough is no longer good enough. I don't know how the players produce such moves, whether it's natural or artificial, but it is now the norm at the top level.

Nepo vs Ding was one of the lowest quality chess for a championship in a while. Very entertaining but low accuracy. In fact all Magnus world championship matches have been the highest accuracy in history
