Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But God is not willing that any should perish. Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as a free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you.

God delivered me from this through a simple prayer. It took half my life. But God answered that prayer I made so long ago in such a personal way. It completely ended my battle against pornography I've had for ever. To God 20 years is like a day. He is so amazing.

My understanding of faith is this: If you recognize that you have commited sin and that now you want to despise your sin because it is contrary to God, then Jesus's sacrifice will save you if you believe it does. However, if you believe in Jesus's death without actually hating your sin, your faith is only factual and nothing more than a demon's faith.

I have unsuccessfully battled against lust and everything that goes with it since the age of 4 (that's as far back as I can remember) especially lust of the eyes, and I just don't know how to break free.

Hi friend! I battled against lust for a long time too (I remember lusting even in elementary school). It took me to my mid twenties to finally overcome it by God's Spirit. Some things that have helped me: understand that the more you pursue something the more you desire it. It is a vicious cycle that you must stop, but you are able, by God's Spirit to stop pursuing it and to start quenching the desire. You must fight the desire with a greater and purer desire: the desire to please God. You must be willing to stay up all night if you have to. Understand that it is a process. People are rarely free right away. It takes time to renew your heart/mind. Keep the long term perspective in mind. Before bed (my most tempting time) I read and pray through at least two passages of scripture (usually Hebrews 12:1-4 and Galatians 5:16 through the end of the chapter, especially praying through the fruit of the Spirit). I also sing two worship songs. I keep a simple log of when I am tempted. It is important to know your triggers, the when, where, and what. When I first started the log, I found I lusted numerous times a day, but over time I became able to look away from all triggers. I have an older person as my accountability mentor. I meet with him regularly and we talk about my week and go over readings or videos he assigned me the previous week. I can also call him if I feel tempted. When I feel tempted, I go straight to God in prayer. I keep praying until the temptation is gone. I have to absolutely rely on Him to deliver me and don't give up. Sometimes it's just me repeating over and over “I need you...please help me... I can't do this on my own...What you over is better.” Believe that what God offers is better. It is worth all the sacrifice. You can't see it yet, but there is great joy on the other side! Keep the gospel in mind. Continually rehearse what Christ has done and the new creation that He has made you. I prayed for you! I have complete confidence that God can deliver you! Don't give up hope!!!

You NEED to be deep in prayer YOURSELF! Yes, I understand asking others to pray as well. I am sorry to say, but it sounds to me like you aren’t trusting that God hears YOU and will take away any lustful feelings that you have. You have to believe that He is listening to you. Every time you have a lustful thought, you pray to God to help you with your thought.

Apparently 655 people either liked this sermon without listening to it, Or they really do believe the insane statement Piper made that holy living is a requirement for salvation. What does the Bible say, folks? Romans 3:28: Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith WITHOUT the deeds of the law. Romans 4:5: But to him that WORTKETH NOT, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, HIS FAITH is counted for righteousness. "Holy living" never took anyone to heaven, but it just might send those 655 people to hell.

Paul was talking about religious law. James 2:17 - Thus also, faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. And Jesus talks about bearing fruit in John 12:24-26. We are saved through grace, by faith, and that faith will produce fruit. If you don’t earnestly desire to live a holy life, are you really saved?

In Exodus 19:15, God commanded husbands NOT to have sexual intercourse with their wives and commanded them to put on clean clothes when He was about to come down onto Mount Sinai. Could it be that it is only the non-erotic parts of marriage that illustrates Jesus's love for us, and that the erotic parts are inherently dirty but that God had to allow it temporarily through marriage to produce the amount of people He intended for to exist? Erotic love is a manner of this world that will pass away since men and women in heaven do not marry or remain married to each other.

The first couple of verses in 1.Corinthians 7 prove you wrong. The Apostle Paul clearly commands sexual intercourse in marriage.

@@spormel In 1 Cor 7, Paul begins by talking about how it is good for men not to have erotic relations with women. However, he did say that for those who cannot control themselves, it is better for them to get married so they can do it without committing erotic immorality. And then he ends the chapter by saying that although it is not a sin to marry, that singles should remain single and married people should live as if they were not married because erotic relations is a manner of this world that will pass away. This is consistent with Matthew 22:30, Mark 12:25, and Luke 20:34-36 in which Jesus says that men and women do not marry or remain married to each other in heaven because we can no longer die anymore, so there is no need for erotic relations because there is no need for reproduction.

So, let's just say, in 1st Cor. 7 that Paul gives his reasons for recommending not marrying, he says; ‭‭1 Corinthians 7:26 NIV‬ [26] Because of the present crisis, I think that it is good for a man to remain as he is. He spoke not of sexual relations, but of the entirety of marriage, the hardships and the time it takes, he wanted Christians to have more time for God's matters, it's not an indictment of sexual relations, but rather a reasonable conclusion based on the hardships of marriage and how much time and energy it takes, marriage is not bad, but it is stressful. Note that, so, about not having sex before Mount Sinai, it's more of an act of self-denial as well as one of respect to God to fill one's mind with Him, like when you fast, you maintain abstinence not because food and sex are bad, but because denying yourself these pleasures respects God and puts your mind on Him
