After watching Mark Kondratiuk's breakthrough free skate in Russian Channel 1 Cup last week, we were reminded of the breakthrough moments of Yuzu, Nathan, Mikhail, etc. What were their breakthrough moments? The moments that made us all figure skating fans remember their name? As Hanyu had too many moments like this, we asked for a poll and we heard you. So we decided to include a special documentary about Hanyu in this video. Join us for the premiere to recap these emotional moments on 19th February, GMT 12pm 💓

Yuzuru is really something else. He looks so elegant and skates with so much emotion and his musicality is amazing. He will be my alltime favorite. I also admire his kidness towards everyone and the spirit he has. Big respect to all of these skaters though. Especially looking towards to Mark in the future.

Actually, I have no idea about figure skating. But when the first time I see Yuzu skating on Pyeongchang olimpic I fall in love with his skating even I know nothing about figure skating.

Don't worry about it. Every figure skating fan starts like this. They saw ** Insert any figure skater's name u first saw and love * and started getting interested in the sport. Everything else, the technical, the skating etc, you can learn along the way if you want. Even the figure skaters, most of them got into skating because their parents / grandparents saw xxx skate and fell in love and put their kids into this sport. This is the reason why we started this channel as well - to share more about this sport, the technicality, and the skaters' stories. Stay tuned for more to come :)

Mark once said that Yuzuru is his skating inspiration since he was little, his dream was being able to skate on the same ice w Yuzu. He finally has the chance when both came to public practice for Beijing Olympics, Mark watches the whole practice of Yuzu and finally asked for photos at the end, they look so cute in the photos💕😆

This is a great compilation. I especially appreciated your inclusion of the background of Yuzu's 2010-11 season that led to his Worlds performance. Considering that he was bouncing from rink to rink and skating in shows to get practice time on the ice, there were several factors against him in that R&J skate, which made the final sequence so emotional. To me, that R&J read less like the traditional love story, but more like a coming-of-age story of a boy fighting for his world.

I'm still quite wary of hailing someone as the next big Russian male skater. Their tendency of crashing and burning on major competitions was really infamous in figure skating circle since Plushenko. Mark is really good though... So let's wait and see.

But he used to say with the media that if he thinks he can't win, he won't go to Olympics. Actually, he doesn't want to show people his weakness, so we need to wait and see in the future...

I think Hanyu's Hope and Legacy at worlds is still the greatest free (and overall) skate in history despite Chen's clean performances. Had to be included here as another breakthrough.

When I watched Mark Kondratiuk in Russian Channel 1 Cup, I didn't know why, I just directly remembered Yuzuru Hanyu when he performed "Romeo Juliet" in Nice 2012. Different style in choreography, but I just felt Mark had the same soul as Yuzuru when Yuzuru made that great Free Program. Then I said to my self, "Wow, a new star is coming!" Evenmore, when Evgenia Medvedeva cried, I remembered Yuzuru's coach (Nanami Abe) also cried in that moment.

You don't need 5 quads (or even 4) to win titles. 3 (or even 2 different quads) will put you up there as long as they have great skating skills between jumps. I'd love to see competitions between Hanyu, Chen, Kolyada, perhaps Zhou and Uno and Jin in the mix.

This video reminded me how little I like skating these days. Other than Hanyu, who is brilliant, the other men are really nothing but jumping bots. Their quads are (mostly) great, but that’s about it. I’d take Buttle or Lambiel any day. There are of course bright spots like Jason B. and Ramon S., but they are few and far between. Don’t even get me started on the ladies . . .

You should keep your eyes open for Mikhail Kolyada this season. He's always had great skating in between jumps which weren't as consistent but changed this year. He has a new coach Alexei Meshen and Kolyada is a new man. In any case he's the only one beside Yuzuru that gave me goose bumps for step sequence this season. He can move as beautiful as Yuzuru when he's confident.

No offense but a breakthrough moment is a _FIRST_ important and successful moment that would have propelled each of these skaters into stardom. Each skater should have just one moment. It's not just random moments where they were impressive. Not sure why the creators would say Hanyu had too many.
