Growing up in P.G. County, Maryland in the 70's. We would hear stories from older people. Then hear very similar stories from others in different areas. That giving consistancy makes me feel maybe something is there. Nothing is outside the realm of possibility... I Enjoy these, Dan. Thank you ! I was doing GOOGLE EARTH looking at Overlays on the P.G. County areas. Remembering how Wooded the areas were in the 70's and to now. A lot of woodlands are gone. But still plenty around there. My older brother would take us for walks. Long walks down along Tinker Creek and he would make up stories to Creep us out... That's what older brothers are for. I believe Maryland has Secrets... 😊

When I was in HS my friends and I used to drink and do bonfires in the Black Hills forest off Black Rock Rd in Germantown. This is the road where the intro to and some of the early scenes in "The Blair Witch Project" were filmed. Last time I was there the road had been developed almost all the way up to the creek, so most of the creepy area was gone, but once you get down by the mill it's still creepy.

@@chad2787 , Great Film those students did a Grat job making that film. It is Horrible to see these Beautiful places bulldozed and developed. We mostly lived in the Hillcrest Heights area as we needed to be near Andrews AFB. Dad did rent an old house that we lived in for a year out in Oxen Hill. We would go out into those woods, walking along Tinker Creek. Great place to be a Kid back then. Older brother use to creep us out with Spooky Stories. @@nikkireigns My brother, my friend Daniel and myself went out to star gaze at this spot South of Ada, Oklahoma. It was a spot we were familiar with because we would go out there a lot. We were all looking up and talking and we heard stomping out in the field on the other side of the gate. Then Daniel freaks out and said a small rock hit him. I blew it off as him being a paranoid hypochondriac, and we continued looking up at the sky. We all had the feeling we were being watched and started getting creeped out. Then I heard a rock hit the ground about 5 feet from me and I asked if either one of them did that. They both answered just in time for me to have one hit my shoulder. That's when I freaked and saying someone has to be out there throwing rocks and stomping on the ground. I honestly thought the stomping was cattle until we started the car and turned on the headlights. At that moment, we saw a bipedal creature standing 7 feet tall and covered with light brown hair. It was looking right at us and took off with a wide stride into the darkness. My brother who is a skeptical no nonsense type of guy kept saying, "Oh my God, no way! I cant believeI just saw that." He refused to talk about it, and it took 20 years to pry the his side of the story out of him. It really happened, and we were all stone cold sober. It wasn't until several years later that I found out that's how they warn intruders, by stomping on the ground and throwing rocks in peoples direction. Well, it worked. We couldn't get in the car fast enough. Daniel literally tried to climb over me to get in. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I remember when this happened. I lived in Landover in Prince George's County and my sister and brother-in-law lived in Millersville, Md so i would pass it just about every other day to get to and from their house. I wanted so bad to stop and look around up there but security was pretty adamant about people coming around the construction site and would always chase them off. If i knew the spot a little better or if we had google maps and gps on our phones back then i probably could have parked somewhere on the other side of the forest and treked through the woods. It is a shame though that they had to clear all that forest and cut down all those trees just to build a stupid mall that just a little over 20 years later is starting to get a little ghetto. We needed a supermall and a casino in that spot like we needed a hole in the head. I wish they would start using land already developed instead of cutting down forest land. I'm sure they could find it somewhere that could be redeveloped.

The area where the mall actually is wasn't much of a forest as I recall. It was a field and a trailer park before the mall was built to the best of my recollection. The area around it (coca cola drive) was wooded and completely undeveloped. The mall went ghetto as soon as the casino was built and was already troubled before then - not so much empty storefronts but lots of off-brand stuff. When the mall was built in 2000 it was nearly all high-end outlets. Mills Corp who built it is notorious for its failed mega-malls.

I know I've shared this to this channel before, but about 8 yrs ago I was helping my neighbor by taking care of his horses while he was out of town, and I saw a "cloaked" figure standing in the tree line one afternoon. It jumped back like it was startled I was looking at it, then it fell to the ground and crawled into the woods at an abnormal speed. My heart sank into my stomach when I saw it. My very first thought was "did I just see a ghost?". I couldn't get out of there fast enough and I was so glad I drove over that day. I have not been in the woods or back on that property since that happened. I did eventually try to search on the internet and the only thing I could think to describe this thing was that it looked like the thing from the movie predator when it was invisible. Well, I was shocked to find a lot of people have seen this thing, and a lot of the bigfoot people say that's exactly what sasquatch can do. They can vanish in a second because they can cloak or whatever it's called. What I saw was not huge. It was normal man size, but it had a very negative affect on me. I hate stepping outside at night to take my dog out, and for sure I'm done with the woods. I live in southern Alabama, just west of Pensacola Florida. These woods here are in sane. I want to move back to Chicago.

In the early 70s my brother and I (pre-teens) would help our uncle (early 20s and a logger in the Pacific Northwest) by carrying bolts of red cedar he had cut out of old cedar stumps from areas that had been logged decades before. We would carry them through the woods to whatever truck he had driven in and parked. We never worried about Bigfoot, but if you saw a bear cub you would run like hell (little bears mean big mommies close by). In the Pacific Northwest you're more likely to encounter a serial killer than a Bigfoot!
